i am not interested in if she is right or wrong i am interested in the fact that he has a counsellor who is not practicing ethically.

i am not a philosopher. So what she said has no meanings to me.

although your imagination doesn't totally hold the key to your future, u can use it to shape your future. i totally agree with the remainder of the statement

most counsellors work in a person centered way usually using Carl Rogers theory of self.

a counsellor should not give advice or tell a person what to think, if they do then it is unethical.

Other counsellors work in a humanistic way, where it is believed that every thing we do or say has a meaning.

but advice giving in counselling is not allowed, clients are suppose to work out their issues on their own with the counsellor as some one they can talk to about how they are feeling, the counsellor can then as certain question with would help the client to reflect, in doing so they should become more aware on their situation.
