Have you ever imagined the possibility of taking a picture by just blinking your eyes? Sounds more like what can only be feasible in a blockbuster Hollywood action movie, maybe, starring Tom cruise.

But, forget movies and its fantasies, forget Tom cruise and his Mission Impossible type of movie. The Technology that will bring this feature into reality is just some miles away from your Local Tech market.

Recently, Sony filed a patent for its new Sony’s Smart Contact Lenses. I am not interested about the Patent, and I don’t think you should be interested in it too. Where my interest lies is the Technology behind the functionality of this new Innovation.

The sony new contact lens will allow the wearer take photos with a deliberate blink of the eye and the pictures will be stored on a wireless device like a smartphone or tablet.

Just any other camera, the contact lens camera would also have features like zoom and image stabilization.

It also has the ability to differentiate between regular blinking and deliberate blinking for capturing images. This could be possible because of the Sensors embedded in the lens which is able to detect the difference between voluntary and involuntary blinks. The image capture and storage technology would all be embedded in the lens around the iris, and piezoelectric sensors would convert the movements of the eye into energy to power the lens.
Sony is not the First company to come up with the technology of an eyewear via contact lenses, Google, whose Google Glass was the first step toward eyewear that can shoot photos and video, applied for a patent for a contact lens camera in 2014. But Sony is one of the numerous companies in a race to make the smart contact lenses a reality and should be a heavy force to reckon with.

The Sony’s contact lens is better than the Google glass as its application lists more features like zoom, focus, change of aperture and stability to prevent blurry photos.The images also can be stored in the lens itself before being transmitted wirelessly to another device.

Other smart contact lenses are focused on improving vision or providing an augmented reality (AR) HUD, but Sony wants to look outwards rather than in. A new patent, awarded to the company in April, describes a contact lens that can be controlled by the user’s deliberate blinks, recording video on request.

The new Google earth VR massively covers the entire 196.9 million square miles of our planet and if you get confused that you don’t know where to start your VR tours from, Google has included its own curated destinations to amazing places like Amazon River, downtown Manhattan, the Grand Canyon and the ruins of Rome.

Google made the initial release free and it is now available on Steam, google earth is launching first on HTC Vive headset but will be available for more platforms by next year. So users with compatible HTC Vive headsets can explore the red planet and the blue one without leaving their living room.

With Google earth, the world was smaller but with Google earth VR the world will be smaller. You will not be putting the whole world inside your smartphone and ve able to access it any part of the world, any time and from anywhere, now, you can be able to be in any part of the world, anytime and from anywhere. Purpose Statement

Responsible for monitoring, ascertainment and management of regulatory matters and Government relations.
Preparation/vetting, negotiation and execution of Customer and Supplier contracts and other agreements, provision of routine and ad hoc legal/ regulatory advices and generally anticipating, proactively evolving ways and means of protecting the Company from legal and regulatory challenges and reducing/mitigating or eliminate regulatory and contractual risks and monitoring legal, institutional and regulatory developments that impact on the Company.
Direct the development/implementation of Legal and policies compliance as well as monitor the effectiveness of identified control measures throughout the organization.




Principal Accountabilities/Objectives

Preparation/vetting, negotiation and execution of legal documents [Supplier Contracts, Customer Contracts and Leases]
Contract management.
Develops compliance organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Monitoring effectiveness of identified internal control measures.
Coordinating and overseeing all enterprise risk management activities.
Ensuring compliance with internal policies, relevant contract /agreements in accordance with an internal compliance plan.
Preparation and filing of all Corporate Legal / Compliance documents and managing of routine Company Secretarial documentary processes.
Offering of routine and ad hoc legal advices on legal/regulatory matters
Superintending in and over litigations, claims and disputes involving and relating to the Company.
Interfacing with and ensuring a seamless working relationship between the Company and all regulatory authorities.
Management of renewals and negotiation of License terms and conditions
Follow up on and Manage compliance with License terms and Conditions
Obtainment of required Frequencies; Renewal and Negotiation of Frequency allocation terms and conditions and other regulatory permits
Interfacing with, monitoring and advising on pending, anticipated and new legislation and bills that impact on the Company’s area of coverage
Obtainment of required Expatriate Quota Positions; Renewal of quotas and entry permits and management of quota returns in keeping with statutory obligations.
Regular attendance at national, Regional as well as Global Regulatory Confabs and staying abreast with regulatory developments
Revision and articulation of company policies, procedures and process framework and strategy.
LLB (Hons) BL and LLM
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Able to provide advise over a wide range of issues and provide requisite support in Management’s decision making process
Excellent Communication Skills
Have a good understanding of both Commercial Law and Company Law

Excellent Legal Drafting Skills:

A good understanding of Telecoms Laws and Regulations as well as a good grasp of the objectives of the Regulatory Agencies
A good knowledge of the ICT Products and Services and understanding of the dynamics of Spectrum Management and Pricing as well as the Satellite industry.
Demonstrate ability to interact with regulators especially in Nigeria, The Gambia and have a good network of Contacts within the Telecoms Regulatory Framework in West Africa.
Well sharpened inter personal skills and ability to interact, work with and interface with all authorities within the legal, regulatory and institutional space of the Company including regulators, line ministries, National Assembly as and when due.
Build trust and maintain values that ensure mutual respect between the Company and other government agencies.
Able to guide professionals and synergize with other departments / functional heads
Honest and reliable
Ability to relate with people of different backgrounds at all levels [Top to Bottom]
Over 17 years post Call experience as a Corporate and Regulatory Lawyer in the two highly regulated sectors of the Nigerian economy (Oil and Gas and Telecoms)
Must have held Management Positions for a minimum of 5 years in the organized private sector ( Preferably a Telecoms environment)

Job Objective

We seek an experienced internal control professional to review all internal processes, systems and policies and make recommendations to ensure the risk to the bank business is minimized with a view to delivering improvements by advising, coaching and facilitating in order to not undermine the responsibility of management. To ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.

Major Duties

Assess adequacy/quality of and adherence to internal control procedures.
Conduct periodic checks on banks assets & liabilities in accordance with statutory guidelines and the banks policies.
Perform and report on overall risk assessment of the bank(systems, structures, policies and procedures)
Provide regular and objective reports for management use.
To work with various employee groups to develop and execute effective risk mitigation strategies.
Investigate all acts of violation of banks operational procedures.
Liaise with external auditors on statutory audits.
Ensure adequate security of the Banks’ assets.
All other duties as reasonably requested.


Skills and Requirements

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Management. AML certification will be an added advantage.
Previous work experience in the operations/internal control department of a bank preferably with a minimum of 5/7years.
Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and ability to work and interpret figures and other financial information.
Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls, compliance and internal audit processes.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
