There is something about the color “Red” that human beings are still yet to understand. Despite meaning “danger” on so many occasions, it can still stand out to be that color we all find so appealing to our eyes. Smartphone brands learned this a very long time ago. Starting with Apple, OnePlus, Samsung and other brands, they usually launch the red color variant of their smartphones separately as a special edition because it is actually special. One other smartphone brand just joined the list of brands that tickle users’ fancy by launching a red colored special edition and that’s Xiaomi. The Chinese brand is one of the brands pulling the forward in China and also globally. They just used the Red color on their latest special edition of the Xiaomi Mi A1 which officially launched in September 2017. The smartphone sports a bright red color that’s not all subtle but it’s meant to make your device really stand out. Mere looking at the smartphone, you will see how stunning and vibrant it looks and this beauty comes mostly from the color. Spec-wise, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is a 5.5-inch Full HD display smartphone, powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset. It is equipped with 4GB of RAM and this special edition comes with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through a microSD card. Camera-wise, it sports a rear 12MP camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. The 3,080mAh battery is still a pretty good one giving that the Snapdragon 625 chipset is known to be friendly with batteries. It runs on stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and its said to be the only Xiaomi’s smartphone to run stock android Nougat out of the box. The price of this special edition smartphone is $228 but one problem is that it’s only available in Indonesia as of the time this post is being published. Let’s keep our hands tied and see if it will be pushed into other markets. Meanwhile, take a close look at the phone ones more. Is it not cute ?Source: http://droidengage.com/red-color-variant-xiaomi-mi-a1-cute-just-cant-stop-loving

Gamers will be so excited about this one. At least their skills and experiences in Games have started taking shape in real life. And maybe, just maybe, a day will come when one has to be a pro gamer before some employers will give you a job. Do you know how you control helicopters in war games like battlefield? Flying over battle infested terrains with bullets and machine guns preying on your bird; trying to bring it down? Aurora Flight Science, which is an aviation and aeronautics research company recently acquired by Aerospace giant, Boeing demonstrated a fully autonomous military helicopter doing just that. During the demonstration which took place at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, a fully autonomous, old UH-1H Huey helicopter flew three missions to deliver cargo without a pilot present in the cockpit to control it. It’s just two infantrymen providing instructions from a smack hand-held tablet. Now, one of the things that’s interesting about this helicopter is the fact that its technology is very different from that of unmanned aircrafts. The helicopter was fitted with onboard LIDAR and camera sensors that enable it to detect and avoid obstacles and also evaluate the landing zone all by itself. But an unmanned aircraft, on the other hand, needs a detailed flight direction from ground operatives to carry out any decision it needs to make during its flight. According to Aurora, their technology which was demonstrated on the helicopter’s system needs only a destination information and lift-off permission from the two marines handling the tablet, then the system will control itself all through the flight, using its sensors to avoid obstacles and no-fly zones, deciding the best routes to follow to get to the destination and also picking the best landing spot nearest to the troops it’s trying to get to. Finally, the technology will work for other vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicles, not just military helicopters. This is a significant push that will take technology to the next step. According to the commanding general of the Marine Corps Combat development command, in a statement during the demonstration, he said. “The young Marines today have grown up in a tech-savvy society, which is an advantage. We’ve got to keep pushing and moving this technology forward”. Well, while this technology on helicopters will not replace all helicopters very soon. But it will be used on so many helicopters which makes it the future. Almost all helicopter crashes today are attributed to pilot error, but since the helicopter will be operated by a Machine (an A.I) I guess and the ground operators only have to give destination instructions and lift-off permission, this human errors can be cut down to 20%. And again, do you think that, as the technology takes over, so many pilots will get their days in service numbered? That has always been the fear of man against this type of technology, we are scared we will wake up one morning and see machines doing our JOB. Egypt as we all know over history was one of the countries that took part in the evolution of the civilization of today’s world. Although they slid back when technology became the main thing in the whole world but these days they are trying to be more technologically inclined. The north African country has already spent a lot to rebrand their technological state. The government has spent billions of Egyptian pounds to invest in the nation’s tech sector. The latest and most visible outcome of these efforts became an Egyptian locally made smartphone called Nile X. The smartphone was celebrated last week in a lavishing ceremony where the president, Abdel Fattah El Sisiwas handed the Smartphone to announce. SICO, the Egyptian firm behind the 4G enabled smartphone which its headquarters is located in supnnw Assuit. The city of supnnw is said to be Egypt’s own silicon valley. Nile X, the Egyptian Android phone built with 4G technology, fast charging feature USB Type-C, 13 mega pixel dual camera and fingerprint sensor. Other specs includes a 4GB of RAM. It has an Octa Core CPU and packs 64 GB internal storage, 5.7 HD display and Android 7.0 Nougat. Other products from the company will range from around 200 Egyptian pounds ($11) for a basic smartphone to 4200 Egyptian pounds ($235) for tablets and will be available to Egyptian consumers starting today, Dec. 15. According to the brand. They stated that among all the investors and supporters that made the Nile X possible, China gave the largest support by supporting them technologically. The Egyptians behind SICO is looking to expand in Africa with plans to build an East African regional hub in Nairobi and to expand to west, Mozambique, Nigeria and then South Africa. As various parts of Africa dive deep into technology, they want to be at the forefront and also there are strong opportunities for Egypt to be a leading production center of affordable smartphones in Africa. What do you think about SICO and the Nile X? You don’t want to ask whether they will be able to survive the already tensed up storm in the mobile industry. You never can tell though, remember, this is just their starting point. They might turn out big if they set their goals straight and come up with breath taking innovations not following the band wagon. Whatever you do that brings puts money into your pocket, don’t get too busy with it that you forget about the most important things in life. These most important things include; God, family, love, taking care of yourself, interacting with nature and socializing with the people around you. When you ignore all these things and go all in; putting your energy and attention 100% into the hustle while leaving zero for God and these other important things; at the end of the line, you will realize that everything in life all boils down to happiness and self-fulfillment that only these important things will give you. These are the true definition of happiness. They are the scale in which your true happiness is measured. The money you are working so hard for today is just to make life a lot easier and more comfortable for you to live while you interact and socialize with these essential things. Money can’t make you happy. At the end of that line, you will realize that, although the money is there and living life will be very easy for you but these essential things will be so far-fetched and your true happiness will lie idle on the end of another line. So, pray and appreciate God. Go to church and worship him. Even if you don’t wanna go to church, live a life that pleases him. Pick up your phone and call your family if you are staying far away from them, call your parents and tell them that you love them, your mum especially, I bet you she needs that call from you right now. The heart and mind always feel good and works better when love is in abundance in your life. Don’t let that lovely gf/bf of yours suffocate in their emotional feelings for you. Love them back and show it. Spend time with them. That’s how the world was meant to be. Then, socialize with your environment, and interact with nature. That’s the only avenue you have to clear your head when the hustle clouds your brain with frustration. Share this piece with your friends on Facebook so they will never forget to remember too that these essential things are still important in life. (It’s part of loving and socializing) |

It’s always fun until danger strikes and death or injury follows. The latter was the fate of a 26-year-old daredevil climber who was attempting to scale a 62-story skyscraper in China when he plunged to his death. The climber, by name, Wu Yongning, also nicknamed a “rooftopper,” had earned a huge following on social media by climbing tall buildings without safety equipment and posting vertigo-inducing selfies and videos online. However, he wasn’t so lucky on this one as he fell from the top of the 62-story Huayuan Hua Centre in the Chinese city of Changsha. As reports unfold, it was discovered that he was attempting to claim $11,200 for a clip promoting an unnamed sponsor when he fell about 45 feet onto a terrace and died of fatal injuries either during or shortly after the accident. Wu, a former movie stuntman, he had more than one million followers on the Chinese Internet. In the smartphone industry, there is always something for everybody, no matter your background, age, country and belief, you’ve got a gadget or two specifically made to meet your demands. From your little toddler who only needs a smartphone to play games and call their parents when they are hungry at home to the elderly ones who doesn’t need much of the features, we the young individuals crave for. Here, the RAM capacity on their mobile phone doesn’t bother them much same as the processor speed, sometimes when they are in possession of the high-end smartphones they see them more as a burden than the incredible gadgets they are. Most times, they only care for the battery capacity which must be okay to carry them along for days without looking around for a wall socket to refill the battery juice. To meet the demands of this weird group of individuals(the elderly), who doesn’t show interest to the moving trends on the smartphone industry, VKworld will be re-launching their F1 smartphone which was initially launched on January 2016. The phone will be relaunching with loads of new features which will resonate more with the elderly population. Firstly, VKworld will be making the UI easier to look at. Because of the poor eyesight, most of our elderly ones suffer from the font size of this phone will be 5 times bigger than the normal size. The new phone to be re-introduced will pack a 4.5” display. That sounds off because most of the smartphones being launched today come with at least 5” upwards. It will also come with bigger icons and simpler functions to look more like the feature phones most of them are already used to from the past, this will make it the ideal phone for an elderly person around the world to communicate with and also keep the modern features smartphones have introduced to the mobile technology industry which includes; fast internet, smartphone apps and other things. The VKworld F1 also packs a louder speaker for people suffering from bad hearing and also they included a feature that will speak out the phone number whenever the phone receives an incoming call or the owner dials a number. Also, there is an SOS emergency call button on the home screen which can be easily assessed in time of danger. All specs on the new VkWorld F1 is the same as the previous 2016 model. An MT6580 SoC, 1GB RAM and 8BG of internal storage which can be extended with a memory card. Camerawise, the rear camera packs an 8MP and the selfie camera is 5MP. This smartphone will be going on sale for $50 and it’s going to be available for purchase very soon. |

61-year-old Robert Weston spent his entire life desperately searching for answers as to why his mum abandoned him in a cinema toilet at three weeks old. Finally, he didn’t only find the answer to his question but he found his real family and also his original name. For six decades he’s been named Robert after the policeman who scooped him up from the toilet floor in the Odeon, Birmingham, on March 24, 1956. His surname, Weston, came from his adoptive parents, George and Irene Weston, who rescued him when he was seven from a traumatic childhood in a care home. Young Robert is now a father of six children during two marriages. But he still lacks a peaceful mind because he really wanted to know what happened – and why – in the first weeks of his life. His answers came when his daughter Emma, 35, suggested he put an appeal on Facebook. After that, Genetic genealogist Julia Bell got in touch and began work using a DNA database, first finding Robert’s half-brother Tommy Chalmers. But Tommy, who lives in Moray, Scotland, was not an only child. Robert found he also has five other half-siblings on his dad’s side – Douglas, Jimmy, Frankie, Charles and sister Pat. When he met them in June they told him they’d always suspected their father, Charlie Chalmers, who died aged 74 in 1997, had another family. Then more detective work led Julia to Bryn Jones, a half-brother on Robert’s mother’s side – and the whole story came out. Robert learned he was the result of a love affair and has forgiven his mother Betty for the choices she was forced to make after Charlie walked out on her. Betty died from meningitis at 31 when Robert was five. The Full Story His Father, Charlie left his wife and three sons in Scotland in 1950 in search of work in Rugby, Warks. It was here he started an affair with factory worker Betty, who will later on become Robert’s Mum, then, she was living in a tiny home with her mum, dad, and uncle. First, they had a son called Larry. Four years later, before Betty gave birth to Robert, Charlie returned to his family in Scotland. Desperate Betty must have felt she couldn’t bring up two young boys and left baby Robert in the cinema. She then moved to North Wales, where she settled down with a local man and had two more children, Bryn and Wendy, but she died not long after that. Together with Larry and Bryn, Robert visited Betty’s grave in Llanfaglan, overlooking the Menai Strait. Bryn who was a railway engineer said: “It was very emotional for all three of us.” Larry also showed Robert snapshots of the life he would have had if his mum had not abandoned him. As they flicked through a family album, Robert had to blink away the tears. He says: “I saw a picture where I would have been almost five. My mum was standing outside a caravan and I pictured myself in that scene and what it would have been like. I would have loved to have been there.” After so many years searching, Robert had 101 questions for Larry about his mum. But one resonated most strongly because it married up with the mum he’s carried in his head for all those years. “It was Larry telling me what she sounded like, how she was softly spoken, and that’s how I had pictured her,” he says. When he began comparing life stories, Robert realized their childhoods were worlds apart. Source: http://borednigerian.com/61-years-later-man-finally-finds-mum-abandoned-cinema-toilet/ |

It's the smallest laptop in the world, but its size didn't stop it from being powerful. Here is what the smallest laptop in the whole world looks like. By now we should know where technology is trying to push us to, in case you don’t know let me tell you, technology is trying to minify every day to day gadget we are using into something portable but yet still powerful. We all know about the 10″ netbooks or mini laptops as we call it here that exist, anybody that had it in mind to get a netbook would either be purchasing it as a second laptop or because he/she is running on a budget, it’s not fit to be somebody’s main laptop because its specs have always been lower than expected, talking of Slow CPUs, smaller and slower capacity HDDs, and poor quality displays are just some of the disadvantages most of these devices carried. Now when I tell you, “the world’s smallest laptop,” I am not trying to bring forward the 10″ netbooks or any shitty smaller laptop with that type of shitty specifications. I am talking about the powerful GPD pocket laptop(GamePad Digital). It comes with an Intel Atom x7-Z8750 inside, an impressive 8GB RAM as well as 128GB of storage (eMMC). And, let me give you a shocker, all these features are meant to work on its small 7″ but FHD resolution display. It also has so many available ports which include 1x USB Type-C 3.0, 1x USB Type-A 3.0, HDMI D Type, and a 3.5mm headset jack. It runs on Windows 10 and has a 7000mAh battery capacity that gives the little computer almost 12 hours of use. To this laptop, size is not a barrier to it being powerful. The only downside to this laptop is its availability, well, what would you have expected? As of when this post is being written, it’s not available in any online shop even on Amazon. But Walmart just included it on their lists. And it is selling now for just $479.99.

Following. Nice story in deed. |
I slept and missed my flight. Here is a story of a young man who would have been dead today but escaped death by its whiskers. Read through and see how God saved this man from losing his life together with his colleagues in a plane crash. These are the words of Shane Hussain Naqvi. 28 July 2010 was the dark day that I was supposed to board an Air Blue flight from Karachi to Islamabad. Being part of the third batch of Youth Parliament I had been visiting Islamabad frequently in the many sessions of the Parliament. This was to be the last session that I had to attend. I was staying at a friend’s place and had planned to go from there but we ended up gisting late into the night and I almost decided to delay my visit, since this was the closing session, I decided to join later and not go with my colleagues the next morning. With that thought in mind, I slept like a baby. The next day, I started getting calls on my mobile phone constantly from a lot of members, (which was unusual but not uncommon). I looked at the phone and seeing they were all related to the parliament (other members, Organizing committee etc) I assumed they must be inquiring about when I was reaching. So I kept sleeping ignoring the calls and decided to call them back up once I was up and inform them that I won’t be coming today. Little did I know they were calling me because mine was the only phone working. After some time, I got a call from the father of one of my fellow Parliamentarian, which got my attention. I picked up the call and heard a surprised and hopeful voice asking me where I was. I told him I did not go to Islamabad. I was thinking he may want to get in touch with her and she may not be picking up the phone. Then he informed me that the plane had crashed into the Margalla Hills. I was stunned. I did not know what to say or how to respond. I just told him that I will call you back I will call someone in Islamabad and find out what the situation was. Until then the TV was not showing much detail. I called one of the Organizers and he told me he was standing at the crash site. It was clear that there were no survivors. I can not describe that feeling. I have never felt that. I was supposed to call that person back and tell him about his daughter not surviving. I was also thinking of all the other friends that were on-board. 6 of them. And 140+ people in total. Kids, mothers, people. All gone. Strangely enough, since we had a group ticket, I was listed among the people on board and when the list of victims was shown on TV and other media, my name was part of it. A lot of people started calling my home, my relatives, family, friends and even acquaintances. They would ask me from my parents, who had no idea why all these people were calling. They had not seen the TV. They were curious why they were getting so many calls from people they hadn’t heard from in a long time even. Of course, none of the callers had the gut to break “the news” to them. When they realized my parents didn’t know, they would just end the call after some small talk. Finally, I got a call on my phone from my mom and I told her I was fine and told her the news. She said no wonder I have been getting calls all day. I finally went back home that evening. My facebook and phone were filled with messages and calls from so many people who saw my name on the list of victims. But I was numb. Some also congratulated me but I did not know how to respond. to Celebrate my life or mourn the death of my friends? It was a big loss for me and I have never cried so much the way I did when I went to see the parents of the victims. They all hugged me and were happy for me but I felt so guilty. I don’t know why. I pray they are in a better place now. To this day, we don’t know why the plane crashed. There are many conspiracy theories, but the families still don’t know what happened to their loved ones. It’s a sad sad story. Most of us have been through a near-death experience or you have a story similar to that of Hussein, but God spared your life. He did so not because you are better than the whole lots who lost their lives in the incident or because you deserved a little more time on earth, or you are more beautiful or young, God spared your life because there is something you are here to accomplish and you’ve not accomplished that task. Why not strive to find out what that is and make it come through. Thanks for reading. |
I haven’t been a regular fan of Infinix, Tecno or any of these smartphone brands topping the smartphone industry in Nigeria, I had to think twice after seeing the commercial for the new Infinix zero 5. The phone bears a clear picture of how Infinix as a smartphone industry is trying to build something Revolutionary, something different from the past that their customers haven’t seen before. They now understand that gone are the days when they feed the masses the same type of smartphones with only a few things slightly different in all of them and still expect them to embrace devices over and over again. The zero 5 is a device that is in every way different from its predecessors. From the design, morphology, the specifications and technology inside, you will fall in love with the smartphone. While we wait for the smartphone to be released fully, so as to carry out an in-depth review. Here are the reasons why you should consider buying the new Infinix zero 5 or 5 plus. Let’s dive right in. The Infinix Zero 5 and Zero 5 Plus launched with 6GB RAM and dual rear camera. At least, that’s the first most exceptional aspect of the phone that sets the eyes popping at first glance. If you love taking shots on your phone, or you just love the idea of owning a camera-worthy smartphone – which I know you are a super addict to smartphone cameras, then one of these two devices should be the next on your mind. Launched on November 14, 2017, and pre-ordered started today 21st November 2017. The Infinix Zero 5 has another variant, which is the zero 5 plus. The two phones are essentially the same in design and features but only one thing sets them aside, and that’s the memory storage. The Zero 5 packs 64GB inbuilt storage while the Zero 5 Pro comes with 128GB storage. The Infinix Zero 5 is built with a 5.98-inch full-HD 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Curved glass display? Yeah, Infinix is finally embracing the future and trying to keep up with a the latest trend in smartphone technology. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor clocked at 2.6GHz coupled with 6GB of RAM. Which means the device will be super fast and a different speed to anything you have seen on any other infinix smartphone. It will be very good for gaming and run can any heavy app you’ve downloaded from the play store. Even with their large inbuilt memory both devices still have support for expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). This is something you won’t see on most big brand Samsung on iPhones, where they will seal off the port for a microSD because they gave you a lot of memory space. They don’t know you can decide to store your entire life on your smartphone and 128GB might not be enough. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the brand’s custom skin XOS 3.0 on top. Everybody wants the latest version of Android. Nougat should be okay for you, I believe you don’t know about Oreo yet. Speaking about the cameras, yes, the camera. Like I mentioned above, this is the main area where this phone excels the most. The Zero 5 has dual cameras at the back, another keeping up with the technological trends. There’s a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and dual LED Flash as well as a secondary 13-megapixel camera with telephoto lens, f/2.6 aperture, and 2x optical zoom. If you don’t understand what all those things stand for, just leave it, you don’t need to understand them. Just know that the camera quality is good. At the front, the handset packs a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash. The handset comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back. For connectivity, there’s 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. GPS, USB-Type C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Since Infinix has started playing catch-up with trends, I feel safe to mention that their next smartphone might be missing out on the 3.5mm audio jack. Finally, the part we’ve all been waiting for, that’s the battery. It’s the most important feature of any smartphone that’s supposed to be used in Nigeria. Here Infinix blessed the zero 5 with a 4350mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support. Guess you are happy now. Currently, the smartphone will be going on sale for 90-100,000 Naira. The pre-ordered started today so if you are interested, head on to this place and make an early pre-order. The phone is good, it’s a good fit for Christmas.
