That video is hilarious by the way. I laughed my butt out as he shouted Olorun Olodumare when the gun was pointed at his head. He used his Nigerian accent all through. It's gonna be an interesting movie.

Nope i don't, am interested in knowing too.

That thing is produced in Eleme. Rivers state I think. It could be from the by-product of petrochemicals. I'm sure people who are privy to it are on nairaland but this kind of thread would not be taking to front page for people to learn, contribute and also see the country has got great things to deliver no matter what.

People can comment rubbish on anything. Chai, I weep for the future of this great country with the daily increase in Youths with inactive/non-functional medulla, grossly incapable of discerning and having a mind of their own.

To most of you commenting, did you realize the source is a blogsite and when you Google the veracity of the news, you'd only get it on blogs as well. How come CNN could hide it from their site and same goes for major news media. You'd also realize the date it was originally fabricated.

Not holding brief for any politician, it's rather appaling seeing people commenting on anything and anything that comes or get published in the social media. The same way they all believed the innocent lady that died in ikorodu was an Ashy. Many of them also stupidly wrote RIP on the thrad that said the Missing UNILAG babe was found dead. Meanwhile they could see the source was one stuoopid blog. When did news emanating from hungry and hell-bound bloggers become a reliable source?

Politics / Re: Yoruba Men Are Cowards --- My Encounter by Codedeben: 10:27pm On Aug 15, 2015
Coward according to Naija Urban Dictionary is someone that act under the guise of falshood (claiming to be who you never were) to perpetrate evil (like your progenitor) and propagate hatred for self aggrandizement.

Op check yourself to be certain you're not one as defined above.

Meanwhile, next time try to register a new moniker with the names from the acclaimed "cowards" region to drive home your point of being one of them as you claimed in your thrash.

Why not stop all these lies. Nothing like abobaku in ile ife since the time of ooni Aderemi, the king ooni sijuade.

All these story of abobaku is an old way to burying the king but just need to be careful because the king can not be bury alone.

I don't know where you see your picture of abobaku because that's not from ile-Ife.

Thanks

My brother, i tire ooo. All these bloggers. You can even see the guy including the picture of OAU theater Art Students as residents of Ife during the burial.. The guy sourced the Internet for different images just to showcase his lack of cognitive skills. An informed mimd would have known the whole Abobaku shii is nothing but a hoax.

The whole internet is awash of the story of one Abobaku absconding. I get irritated reading it. In this age and time would someone be sacrificing his life for a king that passed. If it were to be true would it even be made public? Funny enough, no major tabloid or news media broadcast the news and everyone is going about wit the rumor.
Politics / Re: The Death Of Ooni And The Disappearance Of Abobaku: This Is The Full Story. Pics by Codedeben: 7:02am On Aug 15, 2015
You people should stop this Abobaku nonsense. Its nothing but a fabricated story. To think some so called learned people believe the shii, it's really beyond me. It's an old tradition that's no longer practiced. Even if it were still in vogue, how far do you think the "Abobaku" could run before he'd be "remote-controlled" back home?

Have you noticed no major news media carried the story of the AWOL of the acclaimed "Abobaku"? You only get to read the shii on blogs.
Politics / Re: Buhari Appoints Sagay To Head Advisory Committe Against Corruption. by Codedeben: 5:19am On Aug 11, 2015
My observation about PMB'S appointment thus far :- I think he's more interested in Technocrats than Politicians. I noticed he started off with Guru's and Professionals, at least to lead and make the way before the nomination of politicians (possibly) for ministerial posts. However, I think he's also using that opportunity to understudy his proposed cabinets. In addition to that, I also think he gives no damn about however people feel about his nomination, he's more interested in results through capable and most importantly "trusted" (he can't afford to make mistake of giving posts to people whose loyalty lie elsewhere, hence selling out) hands than satisfying or pacifying anyone.

In conclusion, I observe he understands the sensitivity of the starting off point, he would rather have it all right first by employing professionals with sound experience before formal invitation to the "special guests of honor ".

You cannot wish away a century old ethnocentric nature of a nation away in 4 years.

It has to be systematic or it backfires badly.

You lot really contradict yourselves. Why on earth is the need for lamentation. I think it has been stated times without number that the "5%" don't need anything from the new govt. So why is it whenever there's any appointment, there are still groanings and ranting from some quarters?

Besides, in what way would the names included up there benefit people ftom that region..... If I may say, people only get unnecessarily elated when they see their kinsmen nominated for anything, truth is, only close family members which represent 0.00005% may be lucky enough to benefit. Provided there's anything at all to benefit.

Don't just open a thread just like this other one www.nairaland.com/2486149/many-persons-fail-maths-photo opened earlier without eventually putting up the solution. Whats the purpose of such threads? OP, have u gat the Authentic solution or not? If its meant to educate people, you should be ready to provide the correct answer with proof and not like that one that got people arguing from 1st page to the 12th page without the proof of correct solution.

Celebrities / Re: Five Male Artistes That Should Leave Their Current Records Label - Iamsynord by Codedeben: 5:47pm On Jul 05, 2015
Its not about the "label" actually, its about what the yorubas people call "ori" or "ayanmo". DESTINY... Not just Being at the right place, but at the right time.

From your list above, you recommended some artistes leave a particular label, reading further, i could still see you recommending another artist joining the same label ................... If you're favored (not necessarily good as its obvious with many of our mediocres out there who are raking in millions by just shouting "oya shakebody" or skelembe) you'd blow wherever you find yourself. Tu-face, Olamide, Praiz, Phyno come to mind.
mind you, not everyone would make a living from music as a career but most of those guyz don't know this. Also, everyone has gat his/her own "time" to "reign", a stint fot some, while some would never.
The label isn't necessarily the determinant of your success. May D as a case study. What does Terry G sing and which label is he under again, can u pls tell me? Yet, he smiles to the bank with his freestyles compared to the John Legends of the Mavins.

My opinion.

By the way, I think Tonto should also join MAVIN and D'Prince Kennis Music.

Distrust? Don't you think its rather too early to be looking for loopholes? If the VP was inevitably indisposed, probably on another more important and urgent function that same day, should he had stayed so as to avert this kind of headline? Do you realize the magnitude of work in the hand of this new govt and the very short time they have to start giving us results as demanded, hence the possibility of multitasking which may not exclude the VP getting actively engaged in some other highly prioritized task.

Let the propaganda continue..

"Top Govt source" told Trent or Tent/trend this, right? And the "Top Govt source " knew the actual reason behind the VP not being there? So its mandatory according to the Constitution to be there? Someone should pls educate me. Also who are the "top govt officials" (that incidentally now make up the sources) in the new Govt's cabinet? I like learning new things.

In reality, such hardly happens. The probability is .0002. What people that have been commenting failed to realise was that, the 5 was a previous amswer to a calculation where the new 2+2 is the new querry for the electronic machine. That kind of calculator always have your previous answer on display, should you want to recall it for further calculations.

However, to the question, should this happen for real, then that person should just not bother write any other paper till he or she goes back to the village. The figure up there aren't figures per se. They're the manifestation of powerful forces on your matter. 2 witches plus 2 ogbanje equals 5 Spirits monitoring you closely.

Did u say inferiority complex? inferiority in what way? can u point out one aspect of life yoruba is superior to igbos?
Whether Ibo, Yoruba, Hausa. Whoever you're, Inferiority complex is when you readily condemn other people's way of life, Most especially when it isn't an exclusive preserve of that particular people, but everyone guilty of it, one way or the other. Read my other comments. Meanwhile, it helps when we stop being a Tribalist. Never mentioned Ibo in my comment.

Of course they will greet their customers and potential customers. Market traders do what is necessary to attract attention.

What about the people who work in offices? Do you see them stopping to greet everyone on the way to the office?

The emphasis is not on "stopping" to greet, but greetings. You must not stop to greet. When you're going to the office, don't you say Hi to people you know? When you're driving and you see a friend or relative, don't you honk? There are several ways of greeting and its not exclusive to Yorubas. Everyone likes to be greeted and appreciated. That's the fact. Back when i was in school, I had a non-Yoruba friend and she's fond of saying thank you after purchasing something or a service was rendered to her, which i initially found awkward till I confronted her and she made me realize its essential greeting people and appreciating them cos it fosters relationships.

Igbo are too individuality in nature and tend to be corky.

Look the Hausa and Fulani, every time they meet on the street they will stop and exchange greeting not withstanding the fact both may be complete stranger just meeting for the first time.
Bro, its not even about Ibos. Truth is, Nigerians like to be respected and honored. All of us do. Its just that some people would prefer to condemn this because they see it as a "Yoruba" thing, hence it stands to be condemned. If you have a non-Yoruba boss, would he resume into the office and you'd snub him? Can you enter into his office without greeting him? Some say yorubas would be saying sir, sir, ma, ma. Would you as a non-Yoruba person talk to your boss without saying that? What does that tell you? Respecting one's superior (in whatever form) is an integral part of human's existence.

Let me paint a picture to buttress my point. The next time your wife goes to the market, do not welcome her. Only answer her if she greets you. When she enters the kitchen to prepare the food, never do as if you realised she's in there. Get busy with the TV. Let her spend hours preparing the stew, soup and all, Never say weldone. She arranges the food on the dining, go and satisfy your belly and when you're done, do not say thank you.... Thereafter, Watch as she gets angry for not greeting her ever since she came back from the market and watching her sweating in the kitchen without you saying weldone. Listen to her sulking about your inability to say Thank you for the food or to commend her. Help me ask them why should they be angry if "greeting" is so unnecessary? Greetings (which sometimes comes as a form of appreciation, directly or indirectly) is a tool for recognition in some cases. It can't be over-emphasised.

in otherwords the are tribalistically bigots. Its because they dont travel out of west. Some of them who travels understand that there is decent life outside western region devoid of bigotry. My personal tailor is a yoruba. Very humble guy. His biggest problem is if you are 3 in a place and 2 are yorubas, discussion automatically change to yoruba language.

Even the Westerners you all try to imitate recognize the essence of greeting in relationships, hence its required you greet at the point/moment of meeting and say "THANK YOU" at the point of Departure (even if you meet numerous times in a day) ..... Its common sense!! But most of you tend to condemn that of yorubas cos you're either engulfed with TRIBALISM or patched with inferiority complex.

Have you ever been attended to by a customer care/service officer? Why do you think they have to greet you almost everytime and even apologize for inconveniences as much as they can? Guess they're Yorubas.. You lot should think about it.

My question is, is it only Yoruba that greet? Most of you complaining here most definitely haven't gone anywhere in years. There are other many African traditions that take greetings as essential way of communication and relationship enhancement. Even here in Nigeria, many other cultures don't joke with it. Nupe inclusive.
