But most of you would call your pastors and Evangelist "Brother - - - - ", see your Pastor from afar and run to meet him bending down and showing all forms of respect, even when you could be older than him.



Talking about hypocrisy. Nigerians are. You need to see how majority of those complaining here practically worship their religious leaders on sighting them. Some would even go to the extent of carrying bags and opening car doors. Why then condemn people whose culture is Embedded in it?

95% of multinational FMCG's here in Nigeria do that (don't want to mention names). They carry out recruitment campaigns for auditing purposes, in the end, they 'staff' the contract guys with them and those whose passed tests and interviews are left hanging. Worse these contract guys most times won't be in the recruitment campaign from the start.

Where is the meritocracy in such process? Like you said, that's life!!........so contract guys shouldn't complain, if you don't want to stay as contract staff just leave the job for others who are ready.

Now I understand your point. However, do you realise its actually cost-effective retaining casual workforce. These people have being nurtured with required experience, hence saving the company the expenses a la logistics that come with fresh recruitment. It comes as a form of incentive which encourages hardwork and diligence , unlike when you know you're damned forever in that same position and appellation. Saves time as well cos transition period would be short. That said, it shouldn't be a basis for not conducting fresh recruitment. I think, ideally, it should be a 60-40 thing for every organizations. Where casual conversion takes the largest chunk. Unfortunately, most of the companies, especially telecommunications and financial institution do not have provision for staffing their casual staff any longer, save for the FMCG you mentioned which I pray won't kowtow their colleagues in other sectors soon.

Contract staffing shouldnt be blamed or banned but some recruiters need orientation. If not for contract staffing some of us would not have gotten permanent staffing.

You're lucky you found yourself in an organization where a contract staff get automatically converted. Most coys do not give room for that any longer. Especially Nigerian Banks. You can be there forever as a contract staff unless you get yourself out of the system. Even after personally upgrading yourself, you won't be reckoned with, the only solution is to find somewhere else where your experience and qualifications might count.

After all when you are being 'staffed' permanently by your own company at the expense of other better qualified people from outside, you won't be making noise.

Chillisauce: Tried it once with my girlfriends. We went out with one of them boyfriend, I ended up loosing a shoe . Walked barefooted only to find the other shoe in my bed. Holding it like a teddy.

Another one with hubby during the dating time. He drinks but never gets drunk. So I tried to compete with him, ended up laughing uncontrollable but manage to see myself next day with a pounding headache . Of course he cleaned up the mess.

After our final year paper during uni days, me and 3 of my guys decided to go and celebrate in our usual spot we tagged "school 2".
We were there having fun, celebrating the end of having to hop into bus from main campus to permanent site everyday. There's this guy among us who was always boasting he could down a crate of beer in a sitting. We ordered for McDowell at first, later switched to beer and pepper soup. My guy was on his 3rd bottle of Harp when he started acting up. You know one thing about beer nah say you go just dey stand up go piss at some intervals. Na so this our guy stand up say him wan go piss as usual ooo, we didn't even pay attention to his movement but few seconds After he left we heard Gboa behind us. He had dashed into a table where some people were chilling as well. In the process he made them spill beer on themeselves. See as this people vex, instead make our guy apologize and make im dey go on im own jejely, na so he start to dey insult dem dey accuse dem say na dem push the table across im path as dem see am dey come cos dem think say hin don high (imagine statement). Even an insane mind know say na our guy miss road and probably he was halucinating. We just stayed back to watch as the drama unfolds. D next thing we dey hear be say our guy dey threaten those people that he was a son of a Major General and e go ask im papa boys to come fall those guys. That statement got on the nerves of one of dem and he whooz our guy for face say make im Go call im papa come. Na so our guy say "sh-i-t!! na me you slap so? walaaaahi you don die 2day" . He immediately opened his zipper. We were like what is happening here. As in D whole thing just be like a film cos we don know dis guy teytey and he never tell us say im get any1 for military talk more of im palee and besides wetin im wan commot for im trouser. D suspense was high. Na so our guy open im trouser zip and carry this thing commot come dey say " I go kill you 2day I swear". Na dt time me move close 2 see wetin our guy dey up to. Only 2 see say na im JohnT im commot dey piss for there front, wen im finish he com hol am come dey direct am to d guy dey tell am say im go shoot am. I swear, everyone just burst in2 laughter. Every1 in sch2 dt night couldn't help but laugh thr ass off. But it was so embarrassing to us. The bar security guy walked up to us and asked us to take d dude home imdtly. Come see as dis guy wey bin dey fumble say im stomach na brewery dey stagger as we dey hol am go stop cab. We flagged down a taxi and fortunately/unfortunately for us he had only 1 passenger. The norm there is 2 at the front and 3 for back. The greatest mistake we made was to say make our guy sit down for back. we didn't want him to sit down close 2 d door so he sat down next to the passenger we met in the car which happen to be a very cute lady( and dts whr the word "unfortunate" comes in).
He started dozing off imdtly we hit the road and guess what? He noded the chick several times as he was dozing. At a point he stationed his head on d babe shoulder, na So we pinched one another dey laugh am. I guess the chickala wan avoid embarrassment so she didn't push his head off anylonger. Omo, come see whr the main gbege com happen. Like 10 minutes later na so our guy vomit inside d car, come vomit on the girl leg, the thing splash for her thigh, messed up her leg big time. Mehn! It wasn't funny at all. Omo come see the mother of all embarrassment. The girl just dey vex dey rake.

99% of those that write between in lieu of btw is purely as a result of the "autocorrect" feature on their phone, which automatically replaces each abbreviated words with the full (supposed) text. For instance, hr in some phone would be corrected to "hour" and same thing goes for the issue at hand.

You should have known this. We're in the age of abbreviation(annoying though), subsequently most writers don't and wouldn't have that luxury of writing that between in full for whatever u thought they wanted to replace it with. Is it the same youth of nowadays that couldn't write "her" in full but would rather write "ha"(just a letter short) that you now expect to write such a long word as "between" as a replacement for "btw"

This happens mostlly on Androids and Blackberries. The problem is , most people don't proof-read their comment, hence they don't correct mistakes like that to the intended word.

The most annoying part is they are always swift at juxtaposing BB with android. Is that not what makes BB special?. Its simple, if u cant take the heat, buzz out of the kitchen. They want to eat their cake and at the same time have it.

I am also airtel non-BB user and i'll not blame them for what they did. If it was so profitable as we may have thought, they'll never have opted for this option, when the aim of their existence is to make profit in first instance.

I personally experienced great change in the network this past few months ( esp since tecno has being rolling out phones every months ). their network has being so frustrating. I guess the load is more than what they bargained for.
