Thank you.
IMustWin:
Airport officials and airlines do measure and if found excess, you'll be made to pay for excess luggage.

Ensure to bring along more winter jackets and duvets because it's freaking cold out here except you want to get a jacket for as high as 40euros and above.
Bring enough african food too if you know you can't cope long with bread, pizza and shawarma grin

Also please do Turkish Airline (at Lagos Airport) measure Cabin baggage or Carry on baggage? I want to know if I can adjust most of my cloths to fit into my carry-on?

codedentwickler:
Anyone used Turkish Airlines recently, were you allowed to bring a carry-on baggage and a personal bag?

Also how strict are they with the 23 Kg baggage limit?
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by codedentwickler: 7:16pm On Oct 25, 2020
I believe I can. Seems the level 5 restrictions did not impact international travel.

NotRegular:
Are you sure you can travel, With the recent lockdown??

Yes I agree. I hope you're right and that I get updates on my visa application soon.

papushe:
I don’t think that is the case. Your application is forwarded to the embassy nearest to you for a decision. Was it forwarded to Dublin or Abuja? Abuja embassy has specifically shown processing status for study visa category and does not mean that’s all they are treating at the moment. We all hope for the best. Hopefully we can relate more in the nearest future.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by codedentwickler: 3:11pm On Oct 06, 2020
Yes my work permit is critical skills and I think the embassy in Abuja processing study visas only at the moment. That is what is stated on the website here (https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/nigeria/our-services/visas/weeklydecisionreports).

I think all employment visas are processed in Dublin.

papushe:
The website of visa application processing for a decision you have posted is for Dublin or am I mixing things up? Your employment permit that you hold is it under critical skills? Just a few questions for better clarification. Please somebody help...
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by codedentwickler: 11:08am On Oct 06, 2020
Wow! If this is true then they have been lying to us. They claim they are already processing applications submitted on Sept 16, 2020 here (http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Visa%20Decisions).

However, I submitted my application on July 29 and went for Biometric on August 17 and I am yet to get an update on my employment visa.

So you might be right, which is scary sad

Mahele:
Not to be the bringer of bad news but I submitted since 6th December last year...still waiting o. Learnt the visa team on that category are operating out of Dublin and they are still working on submissions from September of lat year.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by codedentwickler: 10:42pm On Sep 14, 2020
Congratulations, that’s quick. I applied for mine on July 29 and did biometrics on August 17, nothing yet on my end. Mine was an employment visa too

praiseneo:
my employment visa to Ireland came out within 7 days of processing last month

Thank you!

Icasng, Is the timeline for Study visa and Employent visa different. If that's true, which one should take longer.

Gladitor01:
Thanks!

I hope you get yours soon too, I don’t know if the timeline is different, I think you should direct that question to Icasng.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by codedentwickler: 6:14pm On Sep 11, 2020
Congratulations!

I submitted mine on 29th of July and did Bio on 17th of August but I am yet to see my application id on the list. Mine is an employment visa though maybe that is why.

I hope I see mine next week or is the timeline for employment visas different?

Gladitor01:
Yes, I saw my approval on the Abuja list on Tuesday and got my passport and docs today. Thank God!

Submitted: 27th of July
Bio: 17th of August

Let me know if you need more info.

Hi all. Please advice on what to do.

I have a job interview in the UK on Dec. 4. The company is sponsoring the travel and also sent me an invitation letter. I added all relevant document to ensure my application go through. I plan to stay in the UK for just 3 days and I have my return flight booked already.

I applied for UK visiting visa on October 30, 2018.
I submitted my document at the Victoria Island center on Nov 2, 2018, I also received an email that my application has been transferred that same day.
I received a mail on Nov 9, 2018 from UK Decision Making Centre, that they have received my application.

However, I am worried it is taking longer than I expected. I believe it takes 15 days or less for visiting visas.
