There are many cause of this problem but two major ones to address in your case first:

1) Your battery cells and connectors are bad. Try it with another battery to see if you are still having the same problem and brush the contacts for your battery and laptop to clear it of debris .

2) Your motherboard has malfunctioned. See a tech to fix it for you.

it could be that the battery is bad. Use a software like batterycare from batterycare dot net to see the info about your battery

Try this, remove the battery from the laptop, then press the power button down for 10 seconds, now reconnect the battery and plug in your power adapter to charge

I have a Hp 650 laptop, I gave a friend who needed it.. He used it and drained the battery till it went off itself.
When I collected it.. I tried charging it for several hours but it's not charging.. It shows a power cord connected and shows "plugged in, not charging" with a white notification light at the side instead of a orange light.. Could it be that the battery has spoilt or what?

And also when you retry it using that code or the app itself, this is the directory.... Mtk Engineering mode>>telephony>>network selecting

Am not sure you've used the phone before sef.Just to go to the mtk engineering mode of the phone:connectivity...then you set it,it's always WCDMA preffered on the phone,then you can change it to WCDMA only and be on your constant 3g even in places where network is wack.

I tried this but mobiuncle is not showing the "Mtk engineering mode".


When I tried this code *#*#4636#*#*.. I tried changing it to WCDMA only... It refused to change... It got stuck on GSM only.. And it's still fluctuating between 2G and 3G.
