The major problem I have seen in Nigeria is this: Nigerians always think that the development in other countries is done solely by the government. Even though governments create policies and enabling environments, it is the citizens who do the work—and their country takes the glory for it.

Take cocoa as an example. Individuals set up businesses in the US that use cocoa as raw material. They import cocoa from Nigeria into the US for their factories. They become rich, pay taxes, and the government earns from it too.

So, Nigerians should not expect the government to be the one to set up cocoa processing plants that will convert cocoa into chocolate. Nigerians—not the government—should set that up. Snatch all the cocoa, use it locally, convert it to chocolate, and export finished products to the world, earning a much more decent income for themselves and the country.

A good example is Dangote's refinery. He built it, built his own power, built his ports, produced refined products, and exported jet fuel to Europe—earning massively from it. Nigeria became a net exporter of petroleum products to Europe since April. That was not government. In fact, the government's four refineries were not able to do that in their lifetime of existence.

I wish Nigerians would get this.

Has Nigerian government created the enabling environment for businesses to thrive?

Stop using Dangote refinery as an example abeg, if not for his stature as one of the richest men in the world he wouldn't have achieved it.

Again if there was an enabling environment why have almost all the major companies left Nigeria?

The government should be blamed first and majorly before passing any form of blame to the citizen

Is it Nigerians you want to give an enabling environment and you will not see wonders?

Why celebrate the export of raw cocoa when you know the finished products from cocoa will earn us fives what this has brought us.

Instead of us finding ways to process the cocoa into finished products and then sell.

Same with crude, infact same with almost every mineral resources we have.

But one thing i am sure of is he did not neglect the north when it comes to infrastructure. If you study APC government since they took power in 2015. They are strategically positioning the northwest and southwest as the future economic center of the country.

Norway = 22.25 nok per litre on average = 3,096.05 naira.

Uk = £1.74 per litre on average = 3,061.92 naira. Stop crying. We pay two to three times your prices and thats mostly tax. Cheer up.
