secondly, which tuts are you talking abt? blender's or 3D max?
for blender, lotta free ebooks and YouTube tuts out there plus sites like blendernation, blender guru, blender cookie and blender artist are host of a lotta tuts.
for 3Dmax, I dunno since I don't use the software

225mb is d full unpacked/installed package...d 47mb file is d installation container-so to say..


as 4 d tuts..i was lucking 4 blender tuts,wnt to try my hand at it...

there's no need to b such a fanatic mehn...m jst nt a blender fan,YET....but to insinuate that i'm undermining d quality of blender would b totally wrng...d thing is awesome for suh a small package,i mean;modeling,sculpting,vFx,a grt renderer,scripting..etc,all in 1 225mb package is swt...but i dnt knw,y,but it jst dsnt freak me....i dnt have any favorite i jst learn d much i can with all i can for versitility nd besides some cg softwares r better at some tasks than others,so focusing on 1 will b quite limiting..

I don't know y...I just don't like blender... its cool n all,but I just don't dig it...

I prefer 3ds max,c4d n Maya,which support gray extension... blender doesn't... with vRay,photorealistic images are made possible, am not saying blender lacks realism, just that its not "professional" I guess...

but either way,I've got em all installed anyway.. using digital tutors as my Learning center...

Finally got a decent system for CG... Have 3ds max 2014,zbrush,c4d,and blender installed...

How to activate it?

sofeco: Ok, U will need Maya and Houdini and probably zbrush or photoshop + dDo

Photoshop + dDo is for (advanced) texturing, dDo is a plugin for photoshop which U have to get separately, and they are both an alternatives to zBrush.

I'v managed to acquire 3ds max,blender,zbrush,nd cinema 4d, and have begun learning them via tutorials...

sofeco: And due to the fact that am going into it full time, I had to suspend my degree for research and training will resume when am done. I train at home everyday and I've spent money, I mean money on getting the packages I want to be using for Mograph. I hardly watch TV or movies.
Bottom line: determine which field U want to go, I will tell U the best packages U will need for it and U start hunting for them, time issue will only be ur main problem since U r still in sch.

My end target is d game industry... But it requires some knowledge in 3d modeling and animation..
