Afro (formerly known as AfroCab) is looking for City Managers (Lagos, Abuja & Port Harcourt) & a Business Manager

CITY MANAGER
The City Manager, Lagos at Afro is by far the most demanding position Afro has to offer; it requires a degree of talent, confidence and leadership. As the leader of Afro’s business activities in Lagos, you are responsible for the development and growth of our business across Lagos State post commercial launch. You will be responsible for deploying a new transportation and logistics system in your local metropolis.

AFRO'S TEAM STRUCTURE
The core of Afro is in the implementation and operations team, led by a City Manager, Lagos, who reports to a Country General Manager. They create an executable operational structure that makes the goals and objectives of Afro a reality. The sponsors of Afro require that the successful candidate has the qualities and capabilities required of an entrepreneurial CEO which translates to you being incredibly intelligent, driven, analytical, timeline focused, talented and highly sought-after professional. (3) Establish partnerships that increase Afro’s profitability.

You are also responsible for working closely with the Afro product team in to assist with evolving Afro’s service and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to think strategically and analytically about business and product opportunities, and a demonstrated track record of initiating and driving high-value partnerships with the largest and most important companies across the Nigeria region in the Internet and mobile sectors.
A keen sense of ownership, speedy execution, and initiative is a must (there must be a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty!). The candidate is equally comfortable as an individual contributor as well as a manager that leads his/her team to drive an engagement.

It seems Afro is back after many months. Just bought a N3,000 ride for N300 on DealDey

I will try it out next week. Has anyone used this deal?

@tipsy dude

You've been quite a wonderful resource for information on VNA Recruitment. Kudos for the pro bono work. I applied for the Pilot Cadet programme in July, did an Aptitude Test in September, got a positive reply same day, and then a 'Prepare for the Next Stage (Psychometric Assessment) Email' about 2 weeks ago. You can be sure I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My questions are:

'How many more stages are there in the process?'
'Any figures on the number of cadets to be admitted in this batch?'
'Any idea when VNA plans to conclude this process?'

This could really help in making plans, keeping myself prepared & being available in Lagos.

You can reach me at codeweavernaija@gmail.com.

For everyone interested in Virgin Nigeria, my experience with the recruitment process so far has been encouraging & I commend VNA for their transparency. 'I no get person on the inside', so I'm happy to have gone this far. The closest to 'inside information' has come from NAIRALAND!!!

Cheers & keep up the good work

Hi Kobojunkie,

Haven't heard from you about joining the team. Research, Analysis & Design are some of my strongest software development points. Anybody can code but 'coding' is NOT the hallmark of a successful software project! Email me the 'Project Team' details via codeweavernaija@gmail.com

Hi everyone,

Been a 'passive' but very engaged member of nairaland for a while, but this noble cause has spurred me to sign up. I'm interested in being part of the team & I have about 2 years programming experience with a useful networking background. Done a little on Portal Administration for schools so I guess I should be part of this team.

Please feel free to include me. I can be reached via codeweavernaija@gmail.com
