LiteratureTAKE ACTION. By Daniel Cole by colane(op): 12:33pm On Jun 13, 2015
Jonathan Winters once said “If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to meet it.” How often do opportunities slip off people’s hand by taking too much of time planning and analyzing. To be successful, you have to do what successful people do, and successful people are highly action-oriented. The world doesn’t pay you for what you know; it pays you for what you do. No matter how much you plan and analyze, something’s will never show up until you start executing.

You don’t need to have a “perfect” business plan to start executing your business ideas. Success is a function of taking a conscious approach to time, speed and action. While you are still thinking to, planning to, hoping to, intending to, dreaming to, someone else has taken the bull by the horn and you tend to be envious or jealous when you see someone else successfully executing what you are still thinking about. Truth be told, what you are thinking, someone else within your proximity is also thinking the same. What really counts is the speed of execution.

I didn’t take a special training or course on writing and publishing when I wrote my book “The Science of Success.” However, I browse the internet downloading materials on writing and publishing. I read biographies of great authors such as J.K Rowling, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Brendon Buchard, Harold Kushner, Tim Lahaye, Jack Canfield, to mention a few. I subscribe to newsletters on writing and publishing, participate in webinars, and so I started. However, I acknowledge from the start that my first writing might not be the best of my writings, it might not be enlisted as Bestseller but that wasn’t my drive anyway.

I wrote the book, proofread by a professional and it was published. Have received mails and comments from different people around the world on how the book has really helped them. The point is; if you wait for the perfect time or qualification, to do something, you might never get anything done. Perfection never exists in the world of man, it’s a misconception and it’s misleading. Even practice doesn’t make perfect, practice only makes improvement.

Many people refuse to take action in life because they are zealously waiting for the lucky day. Wake up, wake up dude, such day never exists. It is when preparation meets opportunity we tend to say people are lucky. Nobody get anywhere in life by chance, anybody who succeeds has consciously or unconsciously applied the law of success. Define what you want to become, make a plan and start taking action. Until you give attention to your intention it will never become a reality. Please know this; 1000 good intention is not as powerful as one action.

I have seen people who keep on writing and rewriting their CV just to make it perfect while the job they intend to apply for has closed up on them. I quite understand the urge to make things look perfect, professional and excellent, but you need to admit that sometimes, you can’t be too careful not to make mistakes. Life is not about making things perfect. It is about continuous improvement periodically.

Some of the flimsy excuses given by those who don’t take action include

· They don’t want to look like they wanted or needed it badly

· They weren’t sure if life will give them what they really want

· It look so far, they weren’t sure they could reach it

· Other people need it more than they do

· They didn’t want to look greedy

Jack Canfield once wrote, “Most successful people I know have a low tolerance for excessive planning and talking about it.” Planning has its place, but it must be kept in perspective. Most people are familiar with the phrase “Ready, aim, fire!” The problem is that many people spend their whole life aiming and never firing. They are always getting ready, getting it perfect. The quickest way to hit a target is to fire. See where the bullet landed and then adjust your aim accordingly. If the hit was 2 inches above the target, lower your aim a little. Fire again.

It is time to quit waiting for perfection, inspiration, permission, reassurance, someone to change, the right person to come along, the kids to leave home, a more favorable horoscope, the new administration to take over, an absence of risk, someone to discover you, a clear set of instruction, the pain to go away. It’s time to start taking action.

Christianity EtcGod Is Not Mad At You by colane(op): 4:30pm On Feb 18, 2015
God is not mad at you even when you think he is. Sometimes, when we face challenges, ugly circumstances we often assume God is punishing us for our past wrong doings. We try to draw a connection between our sins of yesterday and our situation today. We rationalize that “This is happening to me because of this and that”.

Life is not fair, people will hurt you, your proposal might be rejected, your spouse might bring you pain, your children might not bring you complete joy, you might experience delay, you might be a victim of wrong timing. So many things happen to us in life that we don’t know why. But often we resolve that God is punishing us for what we did ten years ago.

When we magnify the wrong things in our life there are tendencies that we get more of it. When you magnify the wrong, weaknesses, imperfections in life of people around you, you get more of that. God forgives and forget our past when we forsake our wrong doings.

God chastise us as a father will chastise his children. Isaiah 1:18-19 The LORD says, “Now let’s settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as cleaned as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool. 19 If you will only obey me, you will eat the good things the land produces. GNT

When you are weak, stranded and perplexed, always remember you are not alone. God is not mad at you. There is no exemptions for “Nice” people in the challenges of life. Everybody will have his/her own fair share in the struggles and challenges of life. But remember, God is not mad at you.

EducationThe Value Of Time by colane(op): 8:00am On Feb 17, 2015
Our life is measured in time that is why we call it lifetime. I was having a chat with some folks earlier this week, in the course of the conversation I asked one of them how long he sleeps. I didn’t know I was preparing to receive the greatest shock of the week. Oh my God! I can’t believe it,he sleeps 5pm and wakes 5am. 12hrs! I tried to break it down for him to fully understand what he is doing to himself.

After about 5 minutes of calculation, he realized he has slept 3½ days per week, 14 days in a month, and if he continues for a whole year he would be sleeping 168 days in 365 days. Meanwhile, by the time he is 30 years old he would have spent almost 14 years sleeping. This is so pathetic for a lad without having a sleeping problem.

The point is, our life is a total of what we choose to do with our time. Many people look back at their life and all they can say is “If only I still have the time…” all our dreams, vision, aspirations, ambitions, target, and goals are time bound. They can only become realistic by a proper management of time. “Work hard at whatever you do because there will be no action, no thought, no wisdom, no knowledge in the world of the dead - and that is where you are going. Eccl 9:10 GNT.

Many people outgrow opportunities by not taking conscious approach to timing. No man can stop the time even though you can stop your watch. It is pointless to manage time without having a plan, time and plan works together. I rather start on time, fail on time and rise back on time. You can go fast in life by going on time and you can go far by going with the right people. Sometimes, our greatest regret in life are not the things we do, but that which we should have done that we didn’t do.

If all life commodities is to be purchased with a certain amount of time in your lifetime, the questions is; how much of your time will you be willing to exchange for gossip? If a bottle of beer cost two days of your lifetime, how many bottles would you have purchased? Unconsciously, that is how many live their life, they purchases what reduces their life – time and later look back in life to regret their actions. Smokers are liable to die young, even smokers knows that. Yet they buy it.

The best and most expensive gift you can give a man is a portion of your time. When you give people your time, it gives them access to your life, and when people have access to your life they bring demand on you and when you don’t meet their demands it creates disappointments, disappointment brings hatred and hatred brings enmity. Why? Because you gave them your time. Any man who give you a part of his time has given you a portion of his life. Appreciate it and Value it. I strongly recommend this movie for all my readers “IN TIME”. Thanks

PoliticsRe: Buhari's Emotional Speech @APC National Convention by colane(m): 2:25pm On Dec 11, 2014
Who is right president for Nigeria? Seriously, I don't know. But one thing I know is "we should not be emotionally carried away about his eloquence "it is a "speech" we shouldn't forget that.

One thing I see is a new emergence of leaders in Africa. A new breed without greed, prototypes emerging from Nigeria. Let's face the reality "If any president promised to transform Nigeria in 8years, he is deluded" you and I are new leaders that our children look up to. Not a 74, 58, 54 year old man.

I love my country so much and I am proud of it anywhere. But I pray peace return before I return home.

God bless Nigeria and God bless Nigerians.
Together to greater height.
FamilyBalancing Parenting And Work Life by colane(op): 5:13pm On Nov 25, 2014
In our quest to make both ends meet as parents, sometimes we rarely have time for the family most especially the children, meeting deadlines in the office, attending functions, running to meet a target, creating reports, filing report and all sorts of activities. They can be so demanding, overwhelming, burdensome, challenging and even sometimes leads to fatigue. The kids can’t enjoy their dinner with daddy and mummy, they can’t have their social life because mummy and daddy are not around to take them out. It can be so frustrating and so really challenging. That is why I want to share with us some powerful tips that we can implement in balancing parenting and work life. How do you put everything in the right perspective, how do you
create time for the family and yet the work is not being affected?

Number one thing to do is

1. Be Organized: One of the dangers of not being organized is, it makes anybody to place demand on your time. Being organized helps you to understand what is important and what is urgent, and what is urgent but not important. The same boiling water that hardens the egg will soften the carrot. So therefore, it is not about how busy we are it is about the individual. Doing first thing first, putting things in the right order. Most of the thing that wears us out sometimes is not hard work it is wrong work. It is important that we embrace the power of organization.

How can you be organized?

Plan the day before the day: A man who cannot successfully plan a day will never be able to plan his life. Use the weekend to plan the week ahead, use your Saturdays and Sundays to plan to whole week. Write out every task you wish to accomplish for the week and allot different time to them. If you can take care of the seconds the minutes will take care of itself. There are so many computer applications that can do that for you, you can use Microsoft outlook or Google Calendar.

Assign the assignment: You can’t do it all, let friends, associates and companions help you out in some of your task. That you are called a foreman doesn’t mean you should do the work of four men. Delegate but don’t abdicate. With or without you the will would still go around. Always remember “The world can live without the best”

2. Prioritize: Set priority for your activity. You can’t be everywhere at the same time, you are not omnipresent. Not all events, functions, gatherings, birthday, burial conference or seminar requires your presence, if your check can play your role there is no point to be there. Making yourself inaccessible even when you are assessable increases your relevance, it is not been proud it is prestige. There is power in scarcity. If you have to be everywhere at every time you will lose the value and respect for your time.

3. Teach the kids basic responsibilities: There is no such thing as a perfect parent. So therefore, there will never be such thing as perfect kid. Teaching our children basic responsibilities can save us a lot of time and energy. Teaching them how to put on their socks, brush their teeth, comb their hair, answer the home phone, memorize daddy and mummy phone number, how to put on their shoes, how to flush the toilet, how to clean their bums and once in a while let them choose the cloth they like to put on. What does that teaches them? It teaches them the power of choice and makes them to embrace the consequences of their action. You might not be able to make them happy all the time, you might not be there for them all the time but you can definitely raise a responsible kid by making them to embrace basic responsibilities. Correct them where necessary, discipline them if need be, When a parent loses the early confrontations with a child, the later conflicts become harder to win.

RomanceRe: Seven Reasons Why You Should Never Get Married - For Guys Only by colane(m): 8:41pm On Nov 06, 2014
One of the greatest source of stress among human is 'relationship'. Call it marriage or any name. God didn't institute marriage to take man away from fulfilling his purpose or divine plan. I tell young folks in my seminars and conferences "Find your purpose before finding a wife" it is dangerous for both of you to be driving to a destination you don't know. ...

Back to the topic

One bad marriage doesn't make all marriages a bad one. Our problem sometimes is that we always want to eat our cake and have it. We are solely responsible for consequences of our actions in the context of marriage, either good or bad.

What does the bible says about marriage?

Nowhere in the bible does it appear we "must" marry. Please note the word "must"
Jesus, Paul, Elijah... We don't have their biblical records of marriage. Apostle Paul says: 'if a man cannot hold the urge let him get a wife... Marriage is a good thing but we should also be conscious that marriage also can derail you of becoming who God want you to be. Your purpose and divine assignment is not tied up to finding Mr or Mrs compatible...

Jesus Christ didn't come to the world to give us religion (faith) he came to atone for our sins, and show us the right path to eternity. That is why no matter how hard we try no religion can or would bring peace to the mess in the world because religion is man-made.
The rift and conflict in Christendom is enough for the world, different denominational believes and practices. "Off your shoe, i cant off my shoe", sprinkle water for baptism, no you immerse for baptism", burn incense, candle, no i don’t believe in it. Etc.
Hold on to what you believe and do what is right, the son of man cometh to give to us all the reward of our deeds. we are not saved by our faith we are saved by his grace.

I am! And am grateful. Satisfaction is not about having all our heart desire, but appreciating every moment. Looking back and seeing reasons to thank God. EducationYou Need To Read This. by colane(op): 12:41pm On Sep 10, 2014
DON'T FAKE IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT.
Many people go through life on pretense: they overvalue who they are not and undervalue who they truly are. Don't impress people with false hopes, false information, false credibility, and false curriculum. Be open and truthful. A potential graduate is different from a graduate; a branch manager is different from a general manager. It is good to speak high of yourself. It helps your self-esteem and boost your confidence, but be realistic about what you truly have and who you truly are.

GOD NEVER GIVES A FINISHED PRODUCT.
Think about it: we pray to God for money, he gives you an idea. You pray for a child, he gives you sperm. You pray for a book, he gives you a tree. You pray for a fruit, he gives you a seed. You pray for wisdom, he gives you a brain. You pray for salvation, he gives you his only son Jesus Christ. God never gives finished product. We need to start seeing the intangible way God gives things. Every resource we need in life is always around us in intangible form. Real money is not cash, real money is an idea. The byproduct of working on your God-given idea is cash. Things may not come to you the exact way you anticipate it, but be sensitive to the intangible resources around you.

DON'T LET DELAYED EXPECTATIONS STEAL YOUR JOY.
Whatsoever you are anticipating always put your mind at rest. Don't let people's promises and commitments be the source of your joy. Humans fail, only God does not. Your joy should come from within, irrespective of the disappoints life throws at you. That you don't have it now does not mean you won't have it later. The best time you need anything in life is only known by God. Don't anticipate for disappointments but be conscious that it happens. If there is a delay in your expectation, trust that God will work things out for the better. You are too loaded to be stranded. It is natural to be unhappy when your desires are not coming as soon as you expect, but unhappiness only makes the matter worse. It doesn't change anything.

CareerPeople Quit Looking For Their Work As Soon As They Find A Job. by colane(op):
A job (just over broke) is what you are hired or paid to do but your work is what you are born to do.

You can be fired from your job but you can never be fired from your work because you are born to do it.

You can resign from your job because of stress or low wages but you wouldn't resign from your work because the stress is fun.

It is disastrous to die on your job but it is profitable to die on your work because your siblings can continue from where you stop.

However, you might need a job to establish your work.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 8 Tips For Dealing With Job Rejection by colane(m): 6:09pm On Jul 28, 2014
Sometimes, rejection bring the best out of us. Soichiro Honda was once rejected at Toyota for an interview but out of frustration he went on to start his own company which afterward became an empire. The two founders of whatsapp were also once rejected at Facebook, out of frustration they wrote the program which was later bought by Facebook for almost $16billion. Rejections sometimes tells you to focus on your dreams. You can make a living by getting a job but you can make an impact by fulfilling your dreams. You are broke that's why you need a job.

I totally disagree with all the points most especially no 8.

One of the benefits of having more friends either you interact with them directly or indirectly is that you can leverage on them for network marketing, you can advertise your products and services to them, they can be your first client, prospect or customer. By tagging a friend you have connect with all his/her friends. Don't forget that "your network is your networth". And why would you even accept someone friend request if you see no need for it.
