I have been following this trend for sometimes now and reading the numerous answers here, I am a web developer and most persons here keep advising beginners to learn PHP and I don't understand why - any programmer that is not updated enough should take out time to check out whats trending. PHP is not DEAD but PHP is dying and Javascript is taking over the web. You can do anything now with Javascript, at the sever u have NODE JS, ANGULAR and REACT at the client with MONOGODB as the Database, web programming has fully shifted to Javascript, even Matt Mullenweg whose product(wordpress) is built on PHP is advising web programmers to Learn JavaScript Deeply . |

AnthonyAk: https://forwardnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Jason-Njoku-300x169.jpg OLUWASEUN OSEWA This young and enterprising young man is known for starting a platform that gives Nigerians an online voice. Before Facebook became popular in Nigeria, Nairaland was a thriving community of Nigerians. From politics to careers to diaspora connections no other platform has advanced the cause of a Nigerian online community like Nairaland. It has also made a millionaire out of young Seun as deserving.
LINDA IKEJI Ms. Ikeji recently wrote a blog post where she talked about her struggles staring up. She wanted to be self made from the beginning and even though it took a while, she has definitely made it. The Linda Ikeji blog is well known for engaging gossip and news that keeps the Nigerian amebo population on its toes. With top Nigerian organizations as advertisers, the blog has made a multi millionaire out of its owner. She recently purchased a Range Rover but one thing about this lady is that she has managed to stay humble and so helpful to others.
CHUDE JIDEONWO Chude is passionate about giving a voice to his generation in the development of his nation. With his partner, Adebola Williams he started the Future Awards project to recognize young passionate Nigerians giving their best to their Fatherland. He is said to have been a major impact in the turn around of the Buhari campaigns machine in 2015.
UCHE PEDRO Before she married one of Lagos‘s top elites, Uche Pedro was Uche Eze. She is the founder of Bella Naija, a must visit website for impending brides and their grooms. But that is not all Bella Naija is about. There is news, community and more to be enjoyed on the site as well. She has been named as one of Forbes 30 Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs.
KUNBI OYELESE A well known designer in the Nigerian fashion industry, Kunbi has made her mark with her label April by Kunbi. She has gone ahead to design clothing for many Nigerian celebrities and she isn’t even 30 yet.
AYODEJI ADEWUNMI This young man is responsible for the company now known as Jobberman. He and his two partners started this platform , the Nigerian version of Monster.com. Today they are on the board of the company that is now managed by an international investment company.
JASON NJOKU This fiery young entrepreneur has a story like no other. He started Irokotv after his experience with people in the diaspora craving movies from home. He started from the scratch literally and had to struggle very hard to get to where he is today. Irokotv is now a multi million dollar organization and has led Jason to begin Spark, a company that encourages Nigerian businesses by investing in them. Young or old, male or female, hold onto your dreams. None of the people mentioned about are anything spectacular. They are human like you, they just never gave up on their dreams. So keep keeping on!

AnthonyAk: JavaScript. Dont waste your time with legacy languages like java or .net or even c#. Learn JavaScript, the the most popular Front End JS frameworks right now are Angular Js and React Js. There are many more , in order to stay competitive in this industry you much be prepared to learn new ones
Use NoSql databases such as mongodb to wet your beak in basic backend architecture then work your way out to relational databases. The MEAN stack is a popular architecture , understand what node js does and where it fits there.
Please dont waste your time with legacy systems there might be jobs but they are dwindling fast. Heavy I agree with this, Newbies learning to code should face Full Stack Javascript. that is where the web development (the biggest part of software development) is heading to, here are some of what I recommend; HTML - the structure of web pages CSS - the visual style of web pages Bootstrap - a "responsive design" tool that helps your websites look great on tablets and phones jQuery/Ajax - an easy tool for controlling content in the browser Chrome DevTools - a tool for understanding and debugging websites, right in your browser JavaScript - the one programming language that all web browsers use Common algorithms - step-by-step recipes for getting things done Agile - a set of software development principles that focus the design and production of a project on the needs of its users Git - a version control system for saving and sharing your projects Either a popular relational database like PostgreSQL or a popular non-relational database like MongoDB Node.js - an event-driven platform for creating web servers and scalable network applications. Express.js - a powerful web development framework Chai.js or Jasmin.js for testing Angular.js or React.js are nice-to-haves, though you'd be amazed how much you can accomplish just by using jQuery! |

One great question bordering me (which may also be bordering others) is this;
In Nigerian today, we see how bloggers are been more celebrated than programmers, most people pursue both blogging and programming and end up not been good at any. So the question is this;
Programming vs Blogging which is better (more profitable) to learn and focus more on this 2017? |

A citizen had a bald eagle fly in front of his vehicle and the bird became lodged in the grill of the vehicle. Clay County Sheriff's Office and Clay Fire Rescue personnel responded and rescued the eagle from the grill. The bird is alive and was turned over to the B.E.A.K.S. Wildlife Sanctuary. Great Job by all involved. Source: http://www.getdtips.com/2016/10/photos-this-eagle-stuck-in-car-grille.html
