Crime / Abducted Islamic Cleric’s Twins Regain Freedom Eight Days After by collinsbaba(m): 7:59am On May 04, 2020
Walfiq and Walfiqoh, the abducted two-year-old twins of a popular Ibadan-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Taofeeq Akewugbagold, have regained their freedom.

The kids were released eight days after they were abducted by gunmen from their parents’ residence in Ojoo, Ibadan, on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

It was learnt that the abductors demanded £100,000 (about N55m) as ransom from Akewugbagold for the release of the children.

Their father, a former Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), confirmed the release of his children on his Facebook wall early on Sunday.

He said he picked up the children around 5.30am in a bush on the outskirts of Ibadan.

While breaking the news on the social media, he wrote, “Alhamudulilaih! At 5.30am on Sunday, May 3, my abducted twin kids were released to me beside a bush after eight days in an unknown land.

“Thank you all for your prayers and support. My treasure dropped in the water but God located it and brought it back to me.”

Akewugbagold, who commended the police and Governor Seyi Makinde for rallying round him during his travails, said the abductors did not contact the family until after three days.

He stated, “After payment, the kidnappers asked us to come to a kiosk close to the bush somewhere on Iwo Road.

“When we got to the area, we could not find them. But, when I started shouting, one of my kids called for help from the kiosk near the bush.”

Before their release, the cleric had stated, “We have been exchanging conversations with the abductors. We are begging them on a daily basis to reduce the ransom. They asked for £100,000. Since then, we have been begging them. The abductors speak good English, suggesting that they are graduates.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said, “The efforts made by the police in securing the release of the kids cannot be overemphasised. There were a series of clampdowns on the hoodlums.

“Some arrests have been made and the suspects are assisting the police in the investigation that is ongoing.”

Baba, they are still your blood niece and nephew. Please lookout for them so that they can be close to the family, irrespective of the ill behavior of the wife, the kids still bear Adeboye and that gives a connect with the family.

Members of the family with resource can still ask and look into their welfare. At least that will improve their chances of making it in life.
My Advice

It's just that u dont really understand the kind of insults she hurled at the family, even our father when he passed on, she said nonsense on newspaper concerning him.

She didn't even love my bro from day one, she only married him cuz hes well to do from tender age, the intellectual properties his children ought to be enjoying now, she misappropriated it all, given all to bayowa because of ordinary Honda Bullet then.

May God bless the children, they are not lucky of mother

Well you are right bro, some years back after gbenga adeboye demise,we heard that there is this alhaji spending for Lara,he even bought her car,but bro I will tell you life not so rosy anymore fore them, demola dipo Dami now turns street boys and girl....Lara sef dey enter commercial bus and loads here and there...but bro the children still take after their father surname irrespective..

I just hope the children survive and make it in life, but every suffering they pass through, God will demand it from the killer of their father

Yeah demola my close pal of all...he loves to sing just like his dad with a great voice...no problem bro...Do u still come visiting the wife and children?

At all, I visited that place last on his funeral....
They are no more Adeboye, but Gbenga Adeboye, Lara now found him important after killing him and given all his intellectual properties to Gbenga Adewusi......

But where is Gbenga Adewusi now??, he is a dead man alive, where is Bayowa Films and Records International

Health / 45-Year-Old Man Commit Suicide In Imo By Hanging (Graphic Photos) by collinsbaba(m): 1:03am On Apr 29, 2020
A 45-year-old man, Osita Ezuruike, on Tuesday, committed suicide in his house at Umudafa, Awo Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

Sources at the community said the deceased expressed frustration with life over the lockdown and the dusk-to-dawn curfew declared by the state government.

But the police had yet to ascertain why the deceased committed suicide as of the time of filing this report.

The PUNCH learnt that the deceased’s neighbours alerted the police after discovering that he had hung himself.

The police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, told PUNCH that the Ezuruike’s corpse had been taken to a morgue.

Ikeokwu also said an investigation into the incident had commenced.

The police spokesperson said, “On April 27, acting on a report, operatives of the Divisional Police headquarters in Mbieri moved to Umudafa, Awo Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, in a house belonging to one Osita Ezuruike, 45, and met the lifeless body of the said Osita hanging.

“The reason for taking his own life could not be ascertained.

“However, the corpse has been removed to the morgue, while an investigation into the incident has commenced.”
