The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide alias Winners’ Chapel International, David Oyedepo, has questioned the continuous closure of churches over the COVID-19 pandemic, saying he suspects ulterior motives. Oyedepo, who spoke during the Covenant Hour of Prayer Programme on Wednesday, said if markets could be opened for six hours, there was no reason churches should not be opened for two hours. The revered cleric said he believed there was a gang up against the growth of the church in the country. He said, “There is something wrong; for people to be allowed to be in the market for six hours and can’t be in church for two hours, it is an upside-down way of looking at things. “Which one is more orderly? The market or the church? “I can smell a rat. The Lord spoke to me on it so strong yesterday. I can smell a rat. Behind all this, how do we stop the church from exploding? The people involved don’t know it. “The voice of darkness is influencing people at various levels, targeting the church because the growth and expansion of the church is the greatest headache of the devil. But the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The devil and all his agents shall surely pay for this. “I don’t know what hospital that records the kind of healings that the church of God records. And now hospitals, where people die every day, are open, but the church is closed because the oppression of the devil has no medical cure.” https://punchng.com/oyedepo-kicks-against-church-closure-over-covid-19/

Kenmatt:There is no intimidation here, just an explanatory message, we are talking about 2 decades now, if the money had been used for economy advancement, we all know Nigeria would have been more developed more than this...... We are still the one having high electricity and bad road problems, very low Gross Domestic Product etc. WHAT ARE WE SAYING?? |
Kenmatt:I dont know which era u were born o but when Abacha was the head of states, average Nigerians could not afford to buy kerosene just for cooking..... Vividly I remembered how we trooped sawmill for sawdust just to put something into our belly. During that time someone controlling had more than 400 million dollars just to secure the lives of his generations.... I fear both una!! |

Walfiq and Walfiqoh, the abducted two-year-old twins of a popular Ibadan-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Taofeeq Akewugbagold, have regained their freedom. The kids were released eight days after they were abducted by gunmen from their parents’ residence in Ojoo, Ibadan, on Saturday, April 25, 2020. It was learnt that the abductors demanded £100,000 (about N55m) as ransom from Akewugbagold for the release of the children. Their father, a former Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), confirmed the release of his children on his Facebook wall early on Sunday. He said he picked up the children around 5.30am in a bush on the outskirts of Ibadan. While breaking the news on the social media, he wrote, “Alhamudulilaih! At 5.30am on Sunday, May 3, my abducted twin kids were released to me beside a bush after eight days in an unknown land. “Thank you all for your prayers and support. My treasure dropped in the water but God located it and brought it back to me.” Akewugbagold, who commended the police and Governor Seyi Makinde for rallying round him during his travails, said the abductors did not contact the family until after three days. He stated, “After payment, the kidnappers asked us to come to a kiosk close to the bush somewhere on Iwo Road. “When we got to the area, we could not find them. But, when I started shouting, one of my kids called for help from the kiosk near the bush.” Before their release, the cleric had stated, “We have been exchanging conversations with the abductors. We are begging them on a daily basis to reduce the ransom. They asked for £100,000. Since then, we have been begging them. The abductors speak good English, suggesting that they are graduates.” The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said, “The efforts made by the police in securing the release of the kids cannot be overemphasised. There were a series of clampdowns on the hoodlums. “Some arrests have been made and the suspects are assisting the police in the investigation that is ongoing.” https://punchng.com/abducted-islamic-clerics-twins-regain-freedom-eight-days-after/
