Armoured Vehicles Manufactured By 2 Brothers In Ekiti State. Throwback Pictures
Armoured vehicles manufactured by two brothers in Ekiti state for the usage of their father and for the police. Nigerians indeed have the talent and with home front focus we will get there
Obasa Specialty Vehicle (OSV), located in Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has unveiled an all-terrain vehicle named Tekowi.
The vehicle, the company said, was manufactured at its factory in Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The company was commissioned on December 5, 1980 by the late High Chief Joe Oluware Obasa, a car distributor for Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN). The company was upgraded to manufacture special vehicles for security personnel and civilian uses by his two sons High Chief Johnson Obasa and Victor Obasa.
Speaking at the unveiling, High Chief Obasa said Tekowi was coined from “te oko wi,” an Ekiti local dialect which means sandals or boots that farmers and hunters wear regularly to the bush to stamp on anything. He also said that Tekowi is a combination of ruggedness and luxury.
According to Victor, Tekowi’s unique design features four-wheel drive, high ground clearance, Custom interior tailored to customer specification, Stereo system integrated with latest technology, Diamond floor plate flooring, reinforced steel structure, double utility storage, engine air scoop and name branding option.
He said Tekowi is hand crafted with simple tools and locally sourced materials. The Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adewole, said the development that OSV has brought to the Ijero Ekiti community will go a long way to encourage his people and create a lot of opportunities.

You are not wise at all.
The U.K are a very developed Democracy.
Their democracy thrives to the point where recent Governments have never been accused of abuse of power.
In contrast with a country like Nigeria, ridden with a history of presidents who have excessively abused their powers.
It is too early to call for us as a Nation.
Stop clamouring for the introduction into our society, what saner climes introduced into theirs due to their record of transparency. We are not yet ripe for that. And it may take us 200 more years to be. "Saner climes" who after such number of years and after being touted as very developed democracies actually authorize their security agency to MURDER, KIDNAP and TORTURE.
Maybe to you Murder is self defence or Kidnap is house arrest.

NaMeAboki: When it comes to national security, human rights take 2nd place; countries (like USA & UK etc) that traditionally tout such rights merely pay lip service to it but secretly deal with any threats as ruthlessly as they wish. Guantanamo prisoners were Al-Qaeda fighters picked up (literally kidnapped) fighting in their own countries (not even on American soil) subsequently labelled as Enemy Combatants, then shipped to prison in Guantanamo Bay, where they had remained for years and never for once been charged for any offence let alone had a day in court to defend themselves; simply because the US govt feels they pose a threat to its national security - Sowere and Kanu were even luckier in Nigeria to have been charged and even granted bail compared to those prisoners. As in. They would have been saying hello from the other side

linearity: Click the link and re-read against.
Go beyond the headline which is sensational and a clickbait.
The ruling states, this is for agents in covert operations, that if agent from MI5 is embedded as an infiltrator inside a gang, this ruling states they can act along and carry out the criminal activities of the gang, so that their cover cannot be blown.
To expect otherwise is ludicrous and puts the undercover agents lives in harms way. And this is the practice worldwide and not in anyway a license to kill or to usurp the rights of brits to due process. If i did not read the link as the OP why did i post exerts of the link as second and 3rd comment?
The interpretation simply says they are authorized to murder, kidnap or Torture as long as it is in line with National security as the protection of the nation is paramount thus they are to achieve this protection of the nation by any means necessary.
It says nothing about them only acting that way when they infiltrate any gang and it can be done even when they do not infiltrate any gang. Are you now adding salt and pepper to the article?

thundafire: dats wen dey have gotten a convincing reason to do dat after investigation on u so dats it once it deals with dey British territory There is no reason convincing enough to MURDER, KIDNAP and TORTURE by a nations security agency.
MURDER is not as simple as killing someone in self defence Murder is a crime on its own
Kidnap is not house arrest. kidnap is a crime
What they are saying is that some people are expendable. In other words they are free to murder or kidnap anyone who they feel is standing in the way of National security and the law would back them up.
Rule of law has been thrown in the trash when it comes to National security.

Medanoski: I don't think you understand in what context the judgement was passed. According to the new judgement, the secret service agents are authorized to do this when working undercover. According to the judgement such service agent working undercover in criminal organizations cannot be prosecuted for crimes committed in such line of duty. This is because some of these criminals organizations can order them to sometimes kidnap, torture or even kill people. Pls read it well and don't misinform people. Thank you A lot of you read but never understand anything you read.
The interpreted law does not mention criminals ordering the agents to murder, kidnap or torture but said Mi5 Can make this order...

[quote author=beamtopola post=85101901]Hey, wuss brain this is a court ruling, it's part of a democratic process, not some govt ruling.[/quote Hey wuss brain read
Judges on the Investigatory Powers Tribunal declared in a majority decision that MI5 has the power to permit informants to operate in criminal groups, even if the policy itself confers no legal immunity. The case focused on powers that were only disclosed last year by then-Prime Minister Theresa May.
“The case raises one of the most profound issues which can face a democratic society governed by the rule of law, Judge Rabinder Singh said in the ruling.
The decision comes as Johnson seeks to update laws to bring them in line with the U.S. in a crackdown on spies, saboteurs and hackers working for foreign states such as Russia, North Korea and Iran. Preventing MI5 from running agents in criminal organizations “would strike at the core activities of the Security Service,” the judges said. They are in the process of updating their laws so needed the courts to affirm or interpret certain sections regarding their M15. The law was already there but just needed translation.

From the report Britain’s domestic intelligence service MI5 can authorize its agents to engage in criminal activities, potentially including murder, kidnap and torture, a London court ruled, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s new government prepares to overhaul espionage laws.
Judges on the Investigatory Powers Tribunal declared in a majority decision that MI5 has the power to permit informants to operate in criminal groups, even if the policy itself confers no legal immunity and Human rights campaigning groups including Reprieve had asked the court to grant an injunction “restraining further unlawful conduct.” The request was dismissed in a 3-2 decision, which was also the first time a dissenting opinion has ever been published in the tribunal’s 20-year history, Reprieve said.
“The IPT’s knife-edge judgment, with unprecedented published dissenting opinions, shows just how dubious the government’s secret policy is,” Maya Foa, Reprieve’s director, said in a statement. She said the groups planned to seek permission to appeal.
“The use of covert agents is an essential tool for MI5 as it carries out its job of keeping the country safe,” a spokesman for the Home Office said in a statement. I guess "saner climes" can be lawless too when it comes to National Security issues and puts it first above rule of law

What can a manufacturer possibly do without electricity?
More importantly, stop bragging with that big market nonsense because Nigerians rarely buy new cars.
A vast majority of Nigerians buy imported fairly used cars from United States and elsewhere in the world. Ghanaians are mostly too poor to afford brand new cars. Nigerians buy brand new cars more than those who even buy used cars in Ghana. |
