Law, you and your ilks cannot interpret, even your bosses cannot adhere to

How is following the rule of law difficult?
I think that word must be new to you {Rule of Law} since you fail to know what Judicial Rascality entails

Here are the international papers reporting Buhari's government impunity.

I hope some crack head will not tell me that reputed international papers were bribed to carry the story of government's wickedness and impunity

The people you claim are writing this about Nigeria cannot tolerate half of what Sowore did.

Let me show you how America handles people like Sowore. Below is their law

Do note that they do not also grant bail under such offences

So what are we saying? A crime is a crime no matter how long! Has he apologized to the Nigerian people? What he given a state pardon? By who?
smh and wow to you.

Question: Can a government in power convict itself of the actions that brought them in power?

Know the place of the law before you lament some more please so you would not appear slow.

Nobody stopped any government from charging Buhari to court for Treason when he was no longer Head of state but they could not simply because his government became legally recognized after it succeeded. Do you get it now?

This is totally different from being caught BEFORE you could act.

Sowore said yes nothing the context of affirmation but that he is understanding Reuben,
for him to continue. He said a lot of yes even when there was no question, just edging Reuben on. Watch your video very well
Reuben Abati : we have seen this (refering to a revolution) happen in Sudan and in Algeria

Sowore: Yes

My question to you is, what happened at the revolution of Sudan and Algeria and how come Reuban Abati specifically use those as reference knowing fully well what happened during those revolutions?

Reuben knew what happened then and so did Sowore. So when Sowore said YES he said so as a affirmation of the outcome he desired from his revolution.

This is common sense. You watch the interview before the comment Reuben made and know why Sowore said yes

False.
Femi Falana and Galileo Fawehinmi were never charged for treason. Very few Nigerians have ever been charged with treason. Most of the time IBB locked up many people for years without any charge. In fact in the history of Nigeria, only 6 people had ever been charged with treason - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:People_convicted_of_treason_against_Nigeria

Gani fawehinmi was locked up in very harsh conditions maiduguri under very harsh weather conditions which led to health complications that eventually killed him.

You people argue anyhow with conjectures and assumptions with no facts whatsoever.
I try not to mind them when they start getting all emotional and releasing false data.

The entire persons who have ever been charged for Treason in Nigeria from Awolowo to Jakande never enjoyed bail from any court. Some were executed while others got jailed and later pardoned but the fact remains they never got bail and got convicted while in detention.

Punishment for treason

Whoever commits treason shall be punished with death, and whoever attempts or abets treason shall be punished with imprisonment for life or for any less term or with fine or with both.

Stop making irrelevant argument, charge him to court and follow the rule of law.
You are the one making irrelevant arguments all this while from a place of emotions and not from a place of the law.

The OP shows videos and his comments are clearly heard in the videos. I placed these comments side by side with what our constitution says about Treason and it is clear Sowore is not on the side of the law.

In cases of Treason our law makes absolutely no provision for bail. So charging him to court and getting bail for him initially was judicial rascality.

Now the AGF has taken over the case right? Why has he not released Sowore according to the bail terms of the courts? It is because even he knows the courts cannot grant bail for a crime like Treasonable felony. QED

Right now that the AGF has taken over this is when you will see the full recourse to the law being applied and not what you saw under the DSS.

In a nutshell what i just said is that Sowores case just got worse under the AGF and not better

If I go in front of a Police station and say I want to rape someone, I may be arrested, but I cant be charged to court, there is no crime anywhere in the world called "talking about raping someone"

When a person is plotting a coup, there must be plan on the ground, arms must be involved, movement of troops. It is not possible to plotting a coup without access to arms and troops. So if a person is caught doing that, he is in for it because arms and troops are involved as well as plan

In the case of Sowore, the judge is going to want to know how Sowore intended to topple government, what were his plans and how Sowore intended to take down a government that has hundreds of thousands of Armed personnel such as Army, Police and Navy

If the government then says that all it has are things said on video, the case will be thrown out of court as lacking in merit and baseless
You are so missing the point of this case.

The procedure is they would get you arrested and then investigate you and if found that you have done such before or you truly had the intent you would be charged to court with that evidence and if found guilty you would be penalized.

However in Sowores case he provided the evidence all by himself through the interviews he granted of which i have posted 3 videos in the OP thus far.

All the evidence required to present him before the courts were easily made available so in this case he not only gets arrested but charged to court as well.

Do you even know what plotting a coup is? You do not need arms or troops before you can plot a coup.

A PLOT is simply a plan made in secret by a group of people to do something illegal or harmful.

You plot a coup FIRST before you carry it out so in law it is classified under INTENT and not an ACT.

Sowore plotted with INTENT. Understood now?

An offence that is Treason related is not bailable. The courts showed Judicial rascality by approving bail for him. Our constitution does not recognize that under such conditions. No constitution in any country in the world approves bail for anyone charged for Treason.

ColEmeka I just checked your profiled and noticed that you only registered today on nairaland. With the frequency of your replies to matter that have to deal with this Sowore issue, gives the the unquenchable feeling you are paid and deployed by the Nigerian government to help justify the denial of Sowore's rights in the minds of Nigerians.
Paranoia overload lmao

I am actually an old moniker rebranded so sorry to disappoint you i am not paid by anyone neither was i unleashed by any government

Let me start by informing you that I am not a fan of Sowore. Sowore played a huge part in introducing this disaster of a president to the Nigerian political world, so I am of the opinion that he is tasting the fruits of his labour especially with what he is going through. That not withstanding, I am an Nri man and a believer in the phrase fair is fair. With his actions of recent, he is doing his bit to clear his conscience, and that should be applauded. It is brave of him to make turn-around at this point. I shouldn't join in the train of those that now seek to do him in, especially now that he is genuinely fighting for your true rights, and my rights, and the rights of our children and descendants.
Where you are from has no bearing on the laws governing this country. You break the law and you face the consequences. I am an Igbo man like you but believe in the compliance with our laws and not something like fair is fair when the law has been broken. Such does not exist in law

Now getting back to what you have written. Buhari is responsible for Sowore's choice because Buhari bastardized the only way for Nigerians to choose their leaders electorally, by "owning" INEC and the supreme court.
Sowore had no option but to look for another legal way of bringing change to the system.
Again Sowore is no robot and is not under any mind control influence so there is no way Buhari can be responsble for his choices or actions. Buhari bastardized nothing and he does not own Inec or the Supreme court. Sowore chose an illegal option to vent and not a legal one. A revolutionary plot to oust a government is Treason. Get that understood.

Buhari reset the system by taking over from GEJ in 2015. Nigeria is in dire need of a reset, as Nigeria has turned from bad to worse since 2015.

Or are you one of those kids that want Buhari to carry on beyond 2023? As you seem to be allergic to the word reset
To you Nigeria has turned from bad to worse but to others Nigeria has turned from worse to better. Your opinion cannot be imposed on others who reject it simply because you lost an election.

Perhaps you wish to be like Sowore and be a brave chap so why not step up to a police station and declare you wish to carry out a coup against the president. It is just words right? No arms or action right?

Do this and let us see if we will see a post from this moniker of yours for a long while.

With the bastardization of the political and electoral process in Nigeria, is there even a chance in hell that Buhari can be sanctioned? Incredibly difficult. Buhari now owns the legislature. Buhari now owns the judiciary (supreme court especially). And Buhari also owns the executive. Buhari also owns INEC, Nigerians' vehicle for electing her leaders.
Sowore's campaign is now looking like one of the few avenues for Nigerians to influence who leads them. So whether Buhari likes it or not, he's responsible for making Sowore's proposal quite palatable to a huge chunk of Nigerians.
So you admit Sowores call for revolution did happen.

However what you fail to see is that that which you call "one of the few avenues for Nigerians to influence who leads them" is against the law and viewed as Treason.

Buhari is not responsible for Sowores proposal. Sowore chose this path. You need to watch the Arise Television interview. He carefully thought this through and chose his path. His choice, his crime and he will face the wrath of the law.

Buhari did not manipulate his thoughts or words did he?

You are speaking from a position of sentiments rather than facts. If I say I want to rape someone, but never carried out any action ontowards raping anyone except to talk, I cannot be charged with rape since rape must an action. Words cannot rape a person same as it cannot overthrow a government.

For Sowore to be in a position to overthrow Government, he must have taken an action. If all the government has on Sowore are just mere words, the judge will throw out the case because nobody on earth can overthrow any government by talking alone.
Let us carry out an experiment shall we?

Walk to the front of a police station anywhere in the world and say "I want to rape someone) or "I am looking for somebody to rape" and see what happens.

You can make such a statement in secret or before people who do not care but when in the face of the law and you make such statements you will immediately be arrested.

Another example, go on social media e.g twitter and post "I am looking for a woman to rape" and see how quickly Twitter would lock your account and you know why? It is because it is against the law.

Sowore does not require action or arms in order to be found guilty. Same way a COUP PLOTTER is guilty of simply Plotting a coup even when he or she does not actually carry it out.

How do you think COUP PLOTTER as a word came about? It is someone who plans but does not necessarily carry out the action of a coup.

You need a crash course on law.

Please stop reasoning like someone that received half-baked education. Pay attention to the bolded statement above. Have you ever heard or read that American presidents bastardized their electoral process the way Buhari has rubbished the Nigerian electoral process? In America, when presidents are not up to scratch, they get voted out. In Nigeria, everyone knows that what happened in the 2019 election was a huge joke. The progress made during the GEJ era has been totally destroyed. With this situation in hand, I understand Sowore's moves to reset the system.
Nigeria cannot have a full-blown dictatorship in the guise of a democracy
What you typed has no bearing on our constitution. Our constitution does not give room for empathy or sympathy in the face of its own law which anyone goes against.

This is not about Buhari or whether he rubbished the electoral process or not. This is about the constitution.

Besides Trump also rubbished the US electoral process which is why he is on the edge of being impeached right now.

That is one of the legal procedures to follow and not calling for a revolution like Sowore did

Of course we Igbos knew Buhari will be a disaster, and we Igbos have been vindicated. In the past we Igbos supported Yaradua so everyone knows Igbos had nothing against Fulanis. Sowore wanting to oust the President, governors, Chief Justice etc which by the way essentially represents the three tiers of government in Nigeria is simply a coup in the making. The chief Justice had nothing to do with Sowores loss at the polls because Sowore never went to court to contest the election outcome and neither did the Governors stand in his way or was he contesting against governors or against the president?

He said with his own mouth that he wants them removed and had nothing to do with the political malaise as you put it.

So you think that when this matter resumes in court, and the judge asks for evidence that Sowore was going to overthrow government, they will bring printed outfits with logo? Dont make me laugh. Intention with no action is baseless.

To prove that Sowore wanted to overthrow government, the judge will want to see hard evidence to that effect. No judge is going to send someone to death or life imprisonment because of sentiments expressed in private or on video, the judge knows that a government cannot be overthrown by mere words alone.

If I go about telling people that I'm looking for a woman to rape, and someone records me as I say I want to rape a woman, can the Police arrest and charge for rape?

It is not enough for someone to say they want to commit a crime, they must act on towards committing that crime.

If all the police have on Sowore are videos, leaflets and printed wears, they have nothing

In the case of Sudan, it was people with guns that eventually overthrew government, not the protesters
I don't even know where to begin with this ignorance overload you posted.

If you go around saying you are looking for a woman to rape, you will be arrested same way you would be arrested when you say you are looking for a woman to murder. They will first arrest you before they investigate you if you have ever raped anyone before and if found that you have then you face the full wrath of the law. INTENT has landed you in trouble and not action.

In Sowores case, he provided video evidence by himself as posted in the OP and like i said, INTENT has also landed him in trouble.

In the case of sudan the military carried out a coup which was due to the break down of law and order which lasted 8 months non stop and this was the same modus operandi Sowore wanted to apply in Nigeria as suggested by reuben Abati in the first video to which Sowore answered YES.

The Sudanese Revolution was a major shift of political power in Sudan that started with street protests throughout Sudan on 19 December 2018[25][26] and continued with sustained civil disobedience for about eight months, during which the 11 April 2019 Sudanese coup d'état deposed President Omar al-Bashir after thirty years in power, the 3 June Khartoum massacre took place under the leadership of the Transitional Military Council (TMC) that replaced al-Bashir, and in July and August 2019 the TMC and the Forces of Freedom and Change alliance (FFC) signed a Political Agreement and a Draft Constitutional Declaration legally defining a planned 39-month phase of transitional state institutions and procedures to return Sudan to a civilian democracy

Was it civilians who took over during the Sudanese revolution or the Military?
