Let me add a small thread with things you probably didn’t know about Mr President at 77

1) He was born on December 17, 1942, in Daura (in present-day Katsina State) – the 13th and last child of a Hausa mother, and the 23rd and last child of a Fulani father.

2) He also has Kanuri roots; one of his maternal great-grandfathers was from the old Borno Empire.

3) He lost his father at the age of 4, and was raised by his mother, who died in 1988.

4) As a schoolboy he was a long distance runner (800m), footballer, and hockey player. Early in his military career his hobbies once included ballroom dancing.

5) He was the sole Northern Region beneficiary of a West African Schools Summer Holiday Trip organised by the Elder Dempster Shipping Line in 1961.

6) He was Head Boy of the Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College, Katsina) in 1961

7) He is a member of Course 5 of the Nigerian Military Training College, NMTC (now the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA), enlisting on the 9th of April, 1962.

His military education took place in Nigeria, the UK, India and the United States.

8 ) He is one of a handful of Nigerian military officers who served in all 4 Army Divisions that existed while he was in service, & commanded 3 of the 4.

He was at various times the GOC 4th Infantry Division, GOC 2nd Mechanised Infantry Division & GOC 3rd Armoured Division.

9) He was the first Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the first and only Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF).

10 ) He was awarded the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) in 1979, at the age of 37

11) In April 1983, as GOC, 3rd Armoured Division in Jos, he led a military operation that recovered all the 19 Nigerian Islands seized by Chadian troops, around the Lake Chad. (He took back an extra Island, making 20 in all).

12) He is one of only two Nigerian military leaders to not promote selves while in office (He promoted his deputy to the same rank of Major General as himself).

13) He is one of only two Nigerians to rule Nigeria twice; first as a military officer and then as a democratically-elected President.

14) He spent 40 months (between August 1985 and December 1988) under house arrest, following the military coup that overthrew him. He spent most of the house arrest in a bungalow in Benin City

15) He is the first Nigerian opposition candidate to defeat a sitting President in an election, and the third elected Nigerian President to win a second term in office.

16) He is the first and so far the only Nigerian to run in five consecutive Presidential elections: 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 (winning in 2015 and 2019)

GOD BLESS MAJOR GENERAL DICTATOR MUHAMMADU BUHARI THIS DAY AS HE CELEBRATES HIS 77TH BIRTHDAY. MAY NIGERIA BECOME GREATER UNDER YOU IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

I am a Biafran and a lover of justice and freedom. I understand that zombies are programmed to function in a certain way. Enjoy your time with injustice and fvck your one man written constitution. The lifeless general has charged 3 different people for treason and yet the court does not agree with the lifeless jihadist general
Since you are a biafran why then are you concerned about the constitution of Nigeria? Is it the constitution of Biafra? Why are you concerned about Nigerian courts? Are they Biafran courts?

Why are you concerned about the Nigerian president? Is he the president of Biafra?

I am an igbo man and i am not in the league of stupid people who reason like you.

All these very suspicious Igbo online supporters of Buhari, wetin happen? Even the Fulani and Yoruba zombies are running a distant second to you guys in terms of your unalloyed support of Buhari. Even Fulanis that are reaping the benefits of this useless regime of Gen. Buhari are not leaking his ass as vigorously as you "Igbo" e-rats on this Sowore issue.

By the way, I haven't read either you or ColonelEmeka condemn the bloodletting carried out by General Buhari's police and army just a few days ago in Anambra, in the guise of arresting the lawyer that represents IPOB.

Now getting back to what you wrote, it will seem you see General Buhari as a true beacon of democracy, now let me take you down memory lane. I won't go as far as 1983 to showcase his coup years and criminal tendencies.
In 2003, 2007, 2011 Gen. Buhari unsuccessfully ran for the presidency. During this period, your icon of democracy threatened (1) mass action at some point (2) threatened that even dogs and baboons will bleed in this country, if he's denied the presidency (3) Was very much in support of the demonstrations/revolution that took place when GEJ was contemplating removing the fuel subsidy (4) His minion threatened that they will form a parallel government if the lost the 2015 election (5) gave the spiritual and psychological go-ahead to the murderers that killed several youth corpers when he lost one of the presidential elections.
This is the democratic credentials of your democracy tin god Gen. Buhari. And you think, we true Igbos will ever believe that you are a true Igbo man. We all know you guys are in this forum at the behest of the presidency and his security forces to be confusing Nigerians.
You all played that game prior to the 2015 elections, but Igbos and SS people are too intelligent for you guys. Unfortunately for you guys, some of the people you confused in 2015 are wiser now, and have seen through your devilish smokescreen, Sowore included.
When you open a thread about that i will comment. Thank you

Are you endorsing his verbal and physical abuse as evidence of love
For people whose jealous protectiveness is uncontrolled they can be that way.

Such people simply require counseling and reassurance from the one they love and they will be fine

I simply stated facts in the OP alongside what our constitution says so your conclusion is a false one and very petty.

'He loves me to a fault' That's a wrong, dangerous kind of love. A faulty, possessive, insecure love. The type psychos have for their victims that could make them even kill you because 'they loved you so much they couldn't stand seeing you with someone else'

Real love is not faulty. It doesn't give you a bad feeling or bad experience.

'What people say'. You and you alone will bear the consequences of your choices and decisions, not people. Whether you choose to stay with him or leave is entirely up to you.
What she meant by he loves her to a fault is that he loves her deeply and not that it is faulty

The truth is that too many kids litter Nairaland.

I said this a while back that no government would stand arms akimbo and wait for a dissident to bring down its authority.

Sowore acted like a bad loser especially as only a few months before, he had contested for the position of president at the polls.

As proven by his television interviews, his aim was to force a change of government totally.
His means was through civil unrest perhaps with the hope that a military coup might take place as a way to foster peace which would have been shattered by his act of civil unrest.

Gauging the mood of the people, he would have known Nigerians were already suffering from lethargy from Boko haram issues, as they were being contained, it moved to Biafra issues, as that was being managed, it moved to another round of elections - drama.

Nigerians were tired of drama.

To make things worse, he was seen in the company of an individual who also had embarked on a campaign to bring down the government just days prior to embarking his own 'revolution'.

Much as Sowore is a likeable character, he got onboard a one way bus to detention.

So the efcc can decide not to investigate him.....ab initio

It's all semantics abeg.....
Fayose was investigated as a sitting Gov..
1. The court NEVER ruled that there’s no case against Ganduje (that wasn’t even an issue before it). It ruled that EFCC has no duty to release the forensic report we asked for. Mr Magu publicly claimed that he was in London in Nov. 2018 to do forensics of the Gandollar clips.
But the court ruled that there’s no evidence that it has done the analysis and got a report.

2. The suit was on the substance of whether Ganduje committed bribery but on whether EFCC had a duty to release a copy of the said forensic analysis.

3. The application wasn’t against Ganduje but against EFCC and it’s not a criminal suit and thus no pronouncement was made on Ganduje’s culpability.

It is not possible to prove the intention of someone by mere words alone, there must be some sort of action that must be done ontowards.

Treason is a very serious crime that attracts death penalty or life in jail. No judge in a democracy will send someone to their death over "what was said", the judge wants to know "what was done". How can a person be killed just for talking? It makes a mockery of the entire justice system. If I say I want to kill someone, I cannot be convicted for murder just because I talked. If Sowore says he wants to lead a revolution to remove government, let the authorities provide evidence he planned to do so beyond mere talk.

What the judge wants to know is how Sowore intends bring down a government protected by thousands of armed security force

Can he do that by mere talk? No he cant. Since he is not even in a position to commit the crime of overthrowing the government, the case will be dismissed unless the DSS can prove that Sowore had taken actions towards that such as arming himself and others.

Breach of the law must be actions, mere words are simply not enough
Watch this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L4zbXOV_qU

You need action? They already set the date and had principal officers on stand by in 20 states and DSS had access to these officers according to Sowore because he said himself that the DSS called one of the principal officers under his RevolutionNow to ask him if they planned to shut down Nigeria from August 5 and the agent of Sowore said not only shut down Nigeria but a few days after that there would be no DSS existing as Nigeria would experience a sudden unprecedented change.

In case you do not know what incriminatory statement means, there you have it right there and the fact that dates have been set, awareness created, agents arranged in 20 states who the DSS already knew about according to Sowore shows action was inevitable.

Sowore intended copying the methods of Sudan, Algeria etc and he mentioned these countries in this video above.

I suggest you watch it. I think you have spoken enough from your place of ignorance.

I have seen them make mistakes that common criminals would not make.

Yes, I am jumping on all threads because I am here to ensure that evil paid agents do not take over the public space. The public space should be a civil sphere for the voice of reason.

We are not saying that Sowore committed treason or not; by the way there are many people who do not like his approach but whatever it is, he should be charged to court and the court should decide whether he is guilty or not, simple!

Okay

Watch this video again and then read the below. Maybe the situation would become clearer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwRJcxw6R44

41. Any person who-

(1) becomes an accessory after the fact to treason; or

(2) knowing that any person intends to commit treason, does not give information thereof with all reasonable despatch to the President or the Governor of the State or a peace officer, or use other reasonable endeavours to prevent the commission of the offence;

is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for life.

41. Any person who forms an intention to effect any of the following purposes, that is to say-

(a) to remove during his term of office otherwise than by constitutional means the President as Head of State of the Federation and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces thereof; or

(b) to likewise remove during his term of office the Governor of a State; or

(c) to levy war against Nigeria in order by force or constraint to compel the President to change his measures or counsels, or in order to put any force or constraint upon, or in order to intimidate or overawe any House of the National Assembly or any other Legislature or legislative authority; or

(d) to instigate any foreigner to make any armed invasion of Nigeria or of any of the territories thereof; and manifests such intention by an overt act, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life.
The above is from your criminal code act. Take it out on your criminal code act and not on Buhari or DSS. smiley

To those who do not understand and have been misreading this ruling, What they dismissed was an action to compel the EFCC to investigate Ganduje. Case wasn't filed against Ganduje. Was filed to compel EFCC.

So the ruling was not about Gandujes bribery issue but the desire to have him investigated.
