The Personal Assistant to President Buhari, Sabiu Yusuf a.k.a. 'Tunde', was spotted yesterday wearing a Patek Phillipe Nautilus leather strap wristwatch valued at over $99,995

His boss who is the president of Nigeria earns an annual basic salary of $100,000.

$99,995 to naira is 36,248,187.50

He could not use his friend to pass a law against looters rather he is using him to pass law against hate speech.

Stupidity is why someone like you thinks Buhari installed Tanko without realising he was next in authority to Onnoghen and was nominated by the supreme court council in accordance with their protocols and Buhari simply accepted Tanko as their unanimous nominee

hahahaha hahahaha, you mean the sharia judge!! Hehehehe
Yes the so called Sharia Judge

The Supreme Court is composed of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and such number of justices not more than 21, appointed by the President on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council, (NJC) and subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Tanko Muhammad attended Government Secondary School, Azare where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate in 1973 before he later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University where he received a bachelor's degree in Law in 1980. He later obtained a Master and Doctorate (Ph. D) degree from the same university in 1984 and 1998 respectively.

He was Called to the bar in 1981, the same year he graduated from the Nigerian Law School. In 1989, he was appointed as Chief Magistrate of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, a position he held until 1991 when he became a Judge at the Bauchi State Sharia Court of Appeal. He served in that capacity for two years before he was appointed to the bench of the Nigerian courts of appeal as Justice in 1993. He held this position for thirteen years before he was appointed to the bench of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2006 which he served in for 13 years prior to being made the CJN

British Thieves. they should also return all the monies they made off these items from the displays and people who came to view them at their museums all these years

The grandson of a British soldier who took part in the looting of Benin City in the late 19th century is returning items his ancestor took in a move experts say opens up a debate about what could happen to the hundreds of items that are in private collections around the UK.

Mark Walker, the grandson of Capt Herbert Walker – a British soldier who was part of the 1897 punitive expedition to Benin City in southern Nigeria where thousands of items were looted – has loaned the objects to the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, which will display them before they are returned to the royal court of Benin.

Dan Hicks, a professor of archaeology at the Pitt Rivers Museum and its representative on the Benin Dialogue Group, said they were was pioneering a new model for restitution.

“What we’re learning is that restitution can take many forms,” he said. “This seems to be something completely new that we’re doing, in that we are able to support the wishes of a private individual to restitute their own objects.”

https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/76bd6710e0164873da612d6c938651d2073c0754/0_333_5000_3000/master/5000.jpg?width=620&quality=85&auto=format&fit=max&s=9f7c0550eae8efdb488bc2d875b2628b

The two wooden ceremonial paddles were brought back by Walker’s grandfather in 1897 and remained in his family. He became aware they were from Benin after seeing similar paddles on the Horniman Museum’s website. After Hicks got in touch about his grandfather’s journal he kept during the expedition they began work on restitution. There is no set date for their return but Hicks and the Pitt Rivers Museum will display the items next to its current Benin cabinet and work to repatriate them.

https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/3c59022a09d94c7deb093674369cc1c19f975ba4/0_0_5000_3000/master/5000.jpg?width=620&quality=85&auto=format&fit=max&s=b858aa5e33d828f71313053c4bb4f17d

“This extreme example of violent looting in the 1890s in Nigeria is an iconic but also very little understood episode,” said Hicks. “As a society, we’re coming to terms with and starting to understand histories of empire that you’re not taught in school.”

Walker had previously returned two items to the Oba (ruler) of Benin in 2015, when he travelled to Nigeria and handed back two bronze pieces that his grandfather took in 1897. He said: “For me, the most important thing is that the descendants of one of the soldiers who was responsible for the sacking of Benin are making a gesture of respect for that people and its culture.”

The restitution comes after Jesus College at the University of Cambridge pledged to return a bronze cockerel taken by British colonial forces during the 1897 looting. The Okukor will be one of the first Benin bronzes to be returned to Nigeria by a major British institution. Sonita Alleyne, the master of Jesus College, said the decision was not taken to “erase history” but came after work that looked into the legacy of slavery at the institution

https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/28b430872ad32a87620d2552361da2c218810a51/0_0_3500_2333/master/3500.jpg?width=620&quality=85&auto=format&fit=max&s=ea225d9fb0c5ac4dc17f2827af4ba0bc

In November, Manchester Museum became the first UK institution to return ceremonial items to Aboriginal groups nearly a century after they were stolen by British forces. On Tuesday, France confirmed a timetable for the return of 26 objects to Benin. The French culture minister, Franck Riester said the items would be returned next year or at the beginning of 2021.

Hicks said that “without a doubt” there were “significant numbers” of other Benin items in private collections around the UK. The largest collection of Benin bronzes is held in the British Museum. But academics estimate there are thousands scattered around the world, with many remaining in Britain after soldiers returned with them and either kept or sold them.

EsomahJD:
Ango Abdullahi stated categorically that, “we have now seen corruption on a massive scale, and nobody is doing anything about it”.

He stated this while fielding questions from Journalists on Tuesday in Kaduna shortly after opening ceremony of a public lecture entitled, “Education as an instrument for national integration: The northern Nigerian Crisis.”

According to the elder statesman, if President Buhari was committed to fighting corruption, the nation’s courts and prisons would have been congested with corrupt politicians.

He said many corrupt politicians are going about freely because APC has forgiven their sins, pointing out that the case that readily came to mind is that of Senator Danjuma Goje whose ‘sin’ was allegedly forgiven by APC.

He said, “The President said he is fighting corruption, but I don’t believe him because, if he is fighting corruption, our courts and prisons should be full by now. This is because corruption is everywhere.

“You don’t just pick one case and make it a universal example of fighting corruption. We have just seen the conviction of Orji Uzor Kalu and it is becoming something that the world should know, when there are so many people with seventy something billion with them. Those people should be in the same prison with Uzor Kalu.

“And in any case, if you want to say that, Uzor Kalu had committed an offence, but here is a national chairman of a party, the President’s party who pronounces that, don’t worry how much you have stolen somewhere else; as long as you come and say you are a member of APC, you are forgiven. A good example of that is former Governor Danjuma Goje. It was the Attorney General of the Federation himself that went to court to say, they were withdrawing the case from the court. And his offences are not different from Orji Uzor Kalu’s and many others that were reported.

The NEF leader also spoke on restructuring, saying, “If we are going to restructure Nigeria, we must abandon Presidential system of government. If you want Nigeria to function as it used to function in 1960 at the point of independence, we should go and reconsider retention of Presidential system of government, because it is inefficient, it is corrupt and there is no accountability.

“Under the parliamentary system of government, you cannot be a minister until you are elected from your village. So, you are already accountable to your electorate and then, the leader of your party who happens to be President or Prime Minister would make a nomination, which means other members must approve; if you are not a good man, from there you have failed,” he said.

https://thenationonlineng.net/just-in-buhari-not-fighting-corruption-says-ango-abdullahi/
He said, “The President said he is fighting corruption, but I don’t believe him because, if he is fighting corruption, our courts and prisons should be full by now. This is because corruption is everywhere

The above is a very stupid statement. Is buhari the Judiciary? Buhari would prefer a way that would speed up the process but our Judiciary is making it all slow as they keep postponing and selling Judgements.

Buhari himself once said his biggest headache in this fight is the Judiciary.

I wish that in a democracy we can at least use Military approach when it comes to corruption fight while the rest can remain Democratic

It is easier there because their Judiciary is not corrupt like ours.

“When I came in uniform, I collected those who were leading, took them to Kirikiri (Maximum Security Prison) and told them they were guilty until they could prove themselves innocent,” Mr Buhari said, lamenting that he had “learned the hard way” that he could not do that in a democracy.

“I put based on almost all the geopolitical zones committees to investigate them. Those that were found to have lived beyond their means, the balance was taken and were given to the states.

“But I myself was arrested, detained and they were given back what they have stolen.
“So under this system which is supposed to be more accountable, but it is too slow for my liking, but I have to follow it,” Mr Buhari said.
For the truthful at heart and non distorters of truth we can see here that he was referring to the method of fighting corruption in a democracy is much slower than when he was in military

Nigeria will collaborate with and support Hyundai Engineering Company Limited to set up a car plant, and also rehabilitate petroleum refineries, President Muhammadu Buhari has said.

Receiving the President/Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Engineering, Mr Chang Hag Kim, at State House, Abuja, Tuesday, the President said Nigeria was committed to ensuring energy security in the country, “and the goal is to achieve self-sufficiency in the supply of petroleum products within the next three years.”

President Buhari welcomed proposal to set up Hyundai car plant in the country, pledging: “We will collaborate and support to make the investment a reality. ”Mr Hag Kim said Hyundai Engineering Company, which hires about 15,000 engineers and technical staff globally, was willing to contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy.

“We have been building refineries worldwide. We have the biggest in South Korea, with 650, 000 barrels per day capacity. We are also in Venezuela, Iraq, and many other places. We would be glad to contribute our quota in Nigeria,” he said.
