I have always wondered why you would bring someone from a core banking dept to oversee a regulatory agency and not see that there would be conflict of interests or loyalty to his old buddies. Especially with someone like Emefiele who was just a puppeteer for Jim Ovia who was forced to step down due to the policies of the previous CBN governor Sanusi.

Can a government ask anybody to forfeit funds when there is no crime,fraud or illegal funds suspected to be routed through such accounts? The enquiry through the IGP isn't enough. Get a DEA agent to testify before the courts so these matters can be laid to rest.

The lawyers should ask questions of what really happened that led to the forfeiture not bothering us with unnecessary issues, what if you have a foreign account and your friend asked you can you receive money for him on his behalf and you never knew where the money comes from and you think or trust your friend it was legit and it was done.. The FBI came knocking and you prove to them you actually knew nothing about it and you forfeited the money from your account will that make you a criminal? Unless maybe there was a plea bargain.. Even if there was what was the terms, just like you said I think at this point the American government should come out and tell the world what really happened and let this man Tinubu rest and face the task ahead.

what if someone transferred money into your account without your knowledge and it's drug money.. The only way the government can get the money from you is by a forfeiture by a court order, what if i have a friend who does not have an account in the USA and he claimed someone want to pay him money for a service or purchase and he needs a USA account you provide your account and the money was deposited, you didn't touch it only to find out it was drug money.. The only way the government to get the money is to find out is you are involved in the drug trade if you not.. The law same with Nigeria law with the USA is for the court to order a forfeiture the money that does not make you a criminal.
TO me tinubu adversaries are not knowledgeable enough. What they should have gone after is not the money or forfeiture but transcripts of what really led to the forfeiture...
