Yankiss:
Buhari has no choice but we have to be alert. OBJ had no choice back then but wasted tax payers money to the tune of billions of dollars. If not for an alert VP, Atiku, he could have had his way. Today, Buhari has foot-soldiers that are fanatical about him, forget his nonperformance. With a rubber stamp VP, National assembly and CJN and a powerful presidency cabal and dependent Service chiefs to boot, we have to be careful and alert. I have said my own.
Atiku?

Obasanjo couldn't swing it because the whole country was against it.

7 trillion Naira budget, 5 trillion in taxes, 1 trillion from customs, more than 1.5 million barrels of oil per day.
1. We have an estimated population of 201 million people. With 28% unemployment rate, the USA is at 3.4%, but Trump is clueless according to CNN.
2. huh How much is our minimum wage? How many people are employed in Nigeria?
3. Our GDP per capita is egregiously low, even Angola has a higher GDP per capita.
Again, if 3-4 sectors can finance our annual budgets, why do we need to borrow unpayable sums to finance our budgets? Why can't we get our refineries and steel companies working? Why can't we have world class healthcare and education? Why do hundreds of thousands of children and pregnant women still die from malaria? Why do most regions in Nigeria lack electricity and clean water? Where do all these funds go?
Hell, our government need to start giving a precise audit on how annual revenues are spent.
We must borrow if we must meet infrastructural targets.

We must borrow if we are decades behind on the aforementioned infrastructure.

Our GDP Per Capita is what every Nigerian should worry about.

When it is said the average Nigerian only generates 2k dollars in a year, who is to blame if not everyone?

For the refineries and steel sector, we cannot continue to do the same thing whilst expecting a different result - our public sector running business over the years shows a trend.

We must sell the refineries and I'm sure we would by 2022.

Private steel manufacturers are presently popping up around the country whilst Ajaokuta must be broken into fragments and sold off.

1 trillion from customs, 5 trillion from taxes, not to mention oil, manufacturing, agriculture, etc.
We need to ask ourselves some serious questions.
Seriously questions on what?

The first serious question you should ask is "what is our population"?

Next would be "what is the staff strength of the civil service"?

Third would be "what is our GDP Per Capita"?

These figures might sound big to the ear but with such an overblown population, it is minuscule.

The citizens are largely unproductive and there's no whitewashing that can mask that.

And do what? To come and face harsher one here now we have Buhari as a president.
Presently, sleeping in Buses in UK is far better than sleeping in a mansion in Banana island, Lagos.
Serene environment, security fully at alert, good paying jobs to sustain, no stray bullets from untrained policemen, but in Banana island, flood fit come your bedroom come carry you enter sea.
Why not make your way to London then?

It's not as if you have a place on Banana Island.

ebube89:
you need to understand how custom works.
they collect a percentage (custom duty) of the Cost value Of all goods imported into d country and use d exchange rate (dollar, pounds, Euro) to calculate how much to charge each individual/organization importing any item into d country.

so if tomorrow 1dollar exchanges to 500Naira, they will naturally generate more in local currency (Naira)
Why do you guys hate good news?

The target of the customs was surpassed by half a trillion Naira despite a stable currency.

How could that be a bad thing ?

Trump didn't arrest him.
The idiot actually threatened to kill Trump.
He didn't call for protest or armed revolution.
He directly threatened Trump with death.

The good news is that he will not be detained indefinitely against court orders.
It is also very unlikely that he will be convicted because there is no evidence
that he plans to carry out his threat.
Have you ever seen Buhari holding handcuffs?
