Same thing i responded to him. I didn't know someone wise will do same. How does appointment translate to a region or state development? See how SS is still undeveloped with all previous appointments and natural resources. Truly these folks better wake up goldenmind: So appointment of an ibo man as an IG is preferable to the establishment of South East Development Commission (SEDC).. you'd better wake up from your slumber because you are saying rubbish . |

Good tishbite43: This Kalu is an efulefu of a kind OBJ and GEJ are the ones who made Igbos feel as Nigerians. Especially GEJ. Yar'Adua also did his thing by appointing Ogbonna Onovo as IG of Police. The first and only Igbo to occupy that seat since 1970. With due respect what exactly did the above past presidents do for the igbos? What infrastructure - Bridges, Roads, mass housing? What empowerment? What Development? Etc How does "appointment" translate to development of a people? How has political appointments e.g Onovo's affected you and your folks directly?Mike Onolememen former ministers of works (including late Tony Anenih) under Obj were my towns men from Edo state. No infrastructural development whatsoever in Esan or Edo during their tenure as ministers. Probably just few political persons enjoyed from them. We had Gaius Obaseki ex NNPC boss, what did his appointment do to Edo people? So my friend stop equating political appointments to plus for your region. It is infrastructural development that bring advantage to any region. For ex. the 2nd Niger bridge in one of the very major infrastructural achievement to the SE by an Admin that's PMS. I can't remember any previous admin do any major development to the SE. I think the SEDC is a step in the right direction. Let's see how much infrastructural development the commission will do in SE |

Very brilliant! Konquest: Succinctly put.
A lot of posters on this NL thread are NOT well informed and are semi-literates about current global geopolitical and economic situations hence do NOT realize that negative events in one part of the world affect other parts of the world. NO country on Earth exists in isolation from global inflation or hyperinflation and the effects of regional wars, and it's only by earning multiple income streams through careful investments in solid assets beyond the regular day jobs that CAN bulletproof anyone from any impending global economic recessions which come in cycles (economic cycles). It calls for financial literacy on the part of everyone has hasn't got the knowledge yet instead of getting triggered online and offline by childish emotional outbursts against those politicians or whoever. That's real freedom. Period. |

This situation is actually occurring in a good number of western countries
I remember two years back when I was in an European country, the Govt usually delivers bread (these people like bread alot) and other stuff, you see people on long queuing just to get items, in the morning cold.
What caused this trend world over:
1. COVID: this was the first cause of tragedy..which spiralled to other effects of global economies
2. WARS: Syria war then later Russia-Ukraine war - because both countries are major suppliers of gas, wheat, etc to most coutries, the war led to scarcity of commodities and inflation
3. INFLATION: result from first two above
4. HOUSING, ENERGY, etc Crises
Its not peculiar to Nigeria at all. Its a global issue. |
