The United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 announces resumption for Visa Applicants from Nigeria
Very good news..

I wonder what becomes of some of us that already booked and paid our visa fees then before the visa embargo started. I wanted to travel from Turkey to UAE late 2022, paid the $120 visa fees to complete my application, only later to be told visa request from Nigerians have been put on hold! cry

Reno is very right especially the last paragraph.

While in Turkey i knew then that Ukraine supplied wheat, grains & Sunflower oil not only to Turkey but most part of Europe and worldwide

Let's stop politicizing everything and pushing false narratives

Point of Correction... Ukraine didn't deal with Nigeria directly. UN did.

I read UN bought the grains directly from Ukraine and supplied to Nigeria and other countries

Oga stop being ignorant Ukraine supplies upto 15% of the world's grains and more than 40% of Nigerias imported grains for your ignorant mind na only Nigeria dem dey supply....why you no tell America, UK and European union not to take grain from Ukraine when they were begging putin to allow grains out of Ukraine to stabilize prices worldwide....una go get smart phone but still dey ignorant 🙄
You're right!

While i was in Turkey some months ago i learnt Ukraine exports Sunflower oil, Wheat & co to Turkey and most European coutries before and during the war.

There was an agreement meeting in Ankara brokered by Turkey govt. btw Ukraine and Russia for Ships with food exports from Ukraine to pass the Bosporus staits in Istanbul to supply to Turkey and other countries of thr world.

Is like you don't get the point, no one say educated people must embrace farming as business, the Idea is to have something planted on your free land at backyard. The idea that educated people must not do anything other than handling pens in offices is a total misinformed basis tenet of education. Those that farm at their backyards then were never illiterates, they just see backyard farming as culture and necessity to eat healthy vegetables and fruits.

If you were a little bit mature in 80's, and 90's, you won't be talking like this. People has backyard farms irrespective of their education level or where they work. I knew alot of professors who has farms at their backyard then. No one is ashame of doing that, go and ask mature people from 70's to year 2000, and be informed better. Many honorable state house of assembly members, local governments chairmen and lot of politicians too has backyard farms back then. Virtually all civil servants has backyard farms or remote ones if they don't own land.

I am not advocating for subsistence farming or suggested that everyone must have farm at their backyard, reason I said FG must fund agriculture at local governments level to achieve optimum results in my previous post.

PoliticsRe: Stop Blaming the President For High Cost Of Food in Nigeria by commoditiesnig(m): 3:58pm On Mar 04, 2024
You're actually very right! Spot On! Most European countries are 'heavy' on Agriculture and its logistics: from farm to end buyer

We need to imbibe farming at least in our immediate environment.

RevenuesBoost:
Imagine the subsidy was removed and you have 100,000 tubers of yams in your yam barn, 100 bags of rice from your rice farm, even consider planting maize, plantain and cassava.

My dear, nothing the government does will shake you.

I watched a particular village close to my area that are into deep farming, they do not have basic amenities like good road, water (scarcity of clean water), light, etc. but you can't beat them when it comes to money. You won't hear them complain of hardship, they've got food.

People travel from far and wide to buy food stuffs from them.

If we don't plant, food will get costlier.
Most farmers are old people that are now dying because the young generation has been taught wrongly in school, literatures that discourage farming are studied in schools. What do they expect?

The day Nigerians will understand that the solution to high cost of feeding is in your hands, then they'll know that their farmlands needs attention.

Hmm

Well, Social media influencing has now become 'big business' the world over.. Politicians, Celebrities, Companies, etc use Influencers to market themselves and de-market their opponents. I first noticed this in 2015 pre-election how several S.M accounts were springing up for/against political opponents.. still same today all over NL, Twitter and SM.

Unfortunately/Fortunately it has come to stay.

Video of the full military welcome ceremony for President Tinubu in Qatar.

We see the Audi A8 that’s carrying President Tinubu as it approaches the Amiri Diwan. Other vehicles in the motorcade wait on the road outside as President Tinubu’s car goes down the driveway into the Palace.

The Audi is escorted by troops on horseback and more troops on horseback form a guard of honour on the lawn on either side of the driveway.

The car reaches the Palace and President Tinubu alights and shakes hands with the Emir of Qatar.

Then there is the Royal Salute as the Nigerian and Qatari anthems are played. The parade commander then invites President Tinubu to inspect the guards and the President and the Emir go to inspect the troops.

Both heads of state are introduced to members of the two delegations and then the Emir leads President Tinubu into the Amiri Diwan for talks.

I admire the way Qatar and other gulf countries have successfully diversified from Oil into other investments all over the world.. via their sovereign investment funds.

Nigeria should aggressively diversify from Oil as well

Especially considering the disarray Tinubu inherited from Bubu. He needs time to put things in place.

Nobody has a magic wand solution to the problems bedeviling the country.

This could be political or sponsored fight.

All these are just a distraction if you ask me!
