Politics › Re: State Police Won’t Fix Insecurity, Ezekwesili Urges Full Restructuring by commoditiesnig(m): 1:15pm On Jun 16 |
Spot on Seun. I was also wondering what other “restructuring” is Oby talking about again after all this admin has already been putting in place. Well I like the productive discourse around State Police, restructuring and the likes. We need more intelligent deliberations like this to move the country forward. seunmsg: The constitution is why Boko Haram are killing people? The constitution is why Ipob are killing people and eating human flesh? The constitution is why fulani terrorists are kidnapping people and displacing villages?
The duplicitous character of this woman is worse than that of Peter Obi. What exactly is the definition of restructuring in Nigeria's context if not what Tinubu is doing? Local government autonomy, regional development commissions for all regions, decentralization of electricity generation and distribution, tax reforms to give states and LGA more revenues, now state police. So, what's restructuring if not all these?
When Oby was in bed as minister with Obasanjo, what restructuring did she put in place other than messing up the secondary school system? When Jonathan was president, what restructuring did he introduced? Now that someone is finally getting things done, they are still hating on him. Sigh! |

Very welcome development from the CBN BioData45: Banks knows how to leverage people's fund. But if you mistakenly approach them for loan, the interest alone won't allow you spend 5 minutes before you rush go back home. Exactly! Nigeria banks no Dey try at all.. with huge profits being posted. See in the UK 🇬🇧, Banks will call you (be it citizen or residency) and offer you good loans at very minimal interest rate.. |

While you’re right, let’s appreciate the fact the price is going down.. we hope it goes down further. Politicstoday: With the US-Iran deal signed & the Strait of Hormuz reopening, global crude prices WILL fall. Dangote Refinery has no excuse — gantry price should drop to ≈₦900/litre.
Nigerians deserve pump prices of ₦950–₦1,050/litre. NOT ₦1,300+.
The Hormuz crisis inflated prices. The crisis is ending. The savings must flow to the people. 🇳🇬

"For context, Peter Obi’s careless and self-serving comments on the trial, conviction, and sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu are a major slap on not just the Nigerian judiciary, but more of an insult against the judiciary of Finland, where Simon Ekpa, Nnamdi Kanu’s protégé, was tried, found guilty, and is currently serving a six-year jail term for terrorism-related offenses." most unfortunate from Obi! |

Don’t Be Silly and Ridiculous! For Every One Nigerian in jail/imprisoned in a foreign country, hundreds and thousands of Innocent Nigerians travelling abroad or based abroad are subjected to UNJUST PROFILING. Several times I landed in Europe, I’m almost always been put aside at Airport for search by security agents cos of my passport.. while other countries’ citizens just walk through. E bi like say you no know the shame these people don put us. Stop supporting criminals! givedemwotowoto: For every Nigerian incarcerated abroad, there are millions of Nigerians living honest, productive, law-abiding lives across the world.
So let's not focus on the number in isolation. That's the media creating a bias in you.
The fact is that the overwhelming majority of Nigerians are decent people contributing positively to their communities and host countries. |

Politics › Re: Ten Reasons I Will Be Voting For President Tinubu In 2027 by commoditiesnig(m): 3:56pm On Jun 13 |
Brilliant analysis… Indeed The President has done brilliantly and bravely. The major thing I disagree with him for is giving state Governors bulk of subsidy proceeds, i.e increased state allocations with nothing to show for it from most governors.. The President should have channeled bulk of the Proceeds directly to: 1. Power 2. LG - he can enforce the for God’s sake 3. Direct disbursement and empowerment to Nigerians - cutting off state governors 4. micro-economic stabilisation - massive investment in Agric food chain - from the farm to the markets, including logistics. Foreign countries do this by buying direct from farmers to markets Lastly but most importantly the President should keep doing more on security… no investment is too small. CharlesCNG: I agree with you. but macro still matters. Macro is important because a sick foundation cannot produce a healthy house.
If the exchange rate is chaotic, reserves are weak, subsidy is bleeding government, and debt is choking the treasury, then life at the market stall will only get worse over time.
So macro improvement is like repairing the engine of a bus. Passengers may still be sweating inside for now, but if the engine is not fixed, the bus will not move at all. A fair conclusion is this: the reforms are working at the level of stabilization, reserves, ratings, market confidence, and some structural repair — but they are not yet working enough in the kitchen, transport park, and market stall. Both things can be true at the same time. |
