mank1234: Your comment is same issue I have with all the coaches asides late Kesh and Siasia. They are all lazy and don't want to take risk. Without taking risk, Keshi wouldn't have discovered Mba-Mikel-Onazi combo.
Who said a creative midfielder must be in the to 5 leagues? The teams that have been giving us tough times where do their midfielders play? Boniface that has been flopping in SE, is he not in the top 5 league? I bet if Boniface is playing in moldova AE would have been accused of collecting bribe to field him. Taminu is on so many monikers lips not because he had a bad game, rather because of where he plays. Nuff said. |

A wise man once said that The British formed the police and military to work for them to oppress Nigerians. But after they left, they handed over power to Nigerians and dropped the blueprints for them to use the police and military for the same purpose. He finished by saying that the police were not created to protect the masses, rather it was created to protect the elites. Know it and know peace. |

TheSuperNerd: Serious Question: Creative conundrum of the Super Eagles
Elyte89, if you were given the Super eagles job right now, which player would you call up ahead of March as the creative deputy to Alex Iwobi??
I ask this because of this Eguavoen statement below post-match...
“Goals win games, we all know that. They are scoring goals in their club sides, they are scoring goals in training. But when it comes to the game, they don’t score goals. I keep asking the same questions,” Eguavoen told journalists.
“But you know there are some players who can make a difference, who can put the ball into space for them to go to goal. But we are still looking for that player who has that flair and creativity. A good playmaker who can put the ball into space for them.”
P.S: Anyone else who has a serious answer to this question can kindly go ahead and answer. Throwing names alone won't cut it. You must name that lad and correctly profile him as the creative head needed. Don't just name-drop. Name-drop correctly with the creative midfield profile in mind. Thank you. @Komekn input is needed here. |

Oganigwe: The blunt truth and obvious elephant in the room everybody is afraid to admit...the Osaze/Enyeama/Mikel Obi generation had it worse than this present over-pampared bunch in terms of messy coaching and administration yet they ALWAYS delivered when it mattered. The players we have now are mostly twitter banger boys who fraternize with the so called social media inflencers for media validation and hype. Only Lookman is the media classy player who goes about his business with professionalism and world class consistency on the pitch.
I'm all for us overhauling over 70% of these players and starting afresh with new and younger players who have never gotten a real chance, there are lots of them doing well in Europe and in our local leagues.
I would rather we try again with new players preferably from our youth teams and give them enough time to make mistakes as they grow, we might miss out on 1 or 2 tournaments due to inexperience but the tough times are worth it for the greater good. @Bannedlarger. Na you? |

My cross with Boniface is that he does not see it as a big deal I d rather take a player from Latvia league who can get the job done than a player from the big 3 who doesn't deliver. Boniface has not shown any working in SE colours. Period. We just cannot rely on him if we are chasing a game. NT and club games no be the same. |

komekn: It happens all the time , you sign a long term contract and club think's 🤔you are going to be top quality and a year later you are mediocrity personified.
However, you still have your contract and your increments and clauses so the club are essentially stuck with you.
Rhian Brewster classic example sold for £23 million on a 5 year deal but only played 79 games in 5 season but only 4 league goals.
He has a lucrative contract and that will end this season and he will have find another club. But his pedigree is very poor and nobody will pay big money for him.
So he will have to reinvent himself and probably go abroad maybe Turkey. No dey skew the grammar. You were not talking of players who were already on contract. So don't just try to twist out of the neck choke. From the onset it was a poor quality player can be lucky contract wise. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by comodo: 2:27pm On Nov 03, 2024 |
komekn: Statistics are indicative but taken in conjunction with other variables in including TIME you get a full picture of the player ability .
And over a decade we can safely say that KC is a well below striker and or forward player. Many will call him very poor.
However, I think he has been very fortunate contract wise and is laughing 😁 all the way to the bank. 🏦 So no more good players play in better clubs and get better contracts. You really sabi how to confuse thunder. I never knew that some poor players can be lucky contract wise. |
