Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FIRS Is Recruiting! Federal Inland Revenue Service 2016 Job Vacancies by company500: 5:59pm On Oct 14, 2016
dasataj:

Dear Olam10, I will advise you to sit your behind firm and prepare yourself for CBT either from workforce or dragnet or any of the other recruiting firms who might be handling this recruitment for FIRS. Yes, they said in their advert that shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, but think of it; how do you think FIRS is going to interview thousands of applicants for a few hundred slots or maybe a thousand slots thereabout? There has to be some form of streamlining to cut down on the numbers. That is the way it has always been done especially in private firms; at least that was how I got my job in 2012 with the bank I work with now. About 70,000 applicants applied, about 65,000 were invited for a CBT, about 12,000 who passed the CBT were invited for Assessment centre excercise, out of which 1100 of us got the job. I am sure more than 70,000 people applied for this FIRS job; the streamlining has started already - some applicants already getting regret mails. Next will be CBT and . . .
please do you know when the CBT will hold? Also do you have an idea of the kind of questions they might ask at the CBT?

what do you expect when you are being paid over 237k a month as a permanent staff like in Access Bank? You need to work very long hours and meet your targets no matter how big it is. Well I believe their struggle is being compensated with a very big salary. imagine earning over 237k and their management just increased their salaries this week. I think when you consider the big money they are earning every month, the stress they go through is worth it.

Career / Re: Access Bank Surprises Staff, Increases Salary To Cushion Effect Of Harsh Economy by company500: 5:34pm On Aug 23, 2016
docjuli:

Staff members of Access Bank Plc were pleasantly surprised on Monday (AUGUST 22, 2016) as they had an increase in their salary despite the prevailing economic realities in the country.

Nigeria is suffering its worst economic downturn following the unexpected crash in the price of crude oil, its main source of income. Businesses including banks have cut jobs to save money while majority of the states and local governments owe months of unpaid salaries.

THEWILL was told that the bank’s leadership headed by Herbert Wigwe, approved this increase to cushion the effect of rising standard of living in the country.

An employee, who expressed delight at this gesture from the bank confirmed this in confidence. “I am speechless. I don’t think anyone saw this coming, this is happening at a time when my friends in other banks are losing their jobs. It feels great to be supported in such trying times. Thank you Uncle Herbie.”

However, Wigwe was not available for comments as at press time.

Ur assertion is very wrong; in today's Nigeria nobody would resign on a job that pays up to N500,000 a month because he wants to go for masters, what is the possibility that he would even get a job after the masters? I believe the masters criterion was just to reduce the crowd.

that is why they go on the basis of a study leave. they travel and study abroad to come back and work for the sane company. they also collect allowances for the duration of their study leave

The conclusion and outcome of the exercise will clear all doubt as to the real reason for MSc requirement. For now let's focus attention on the process. Anyone has idea of the next stage?

you will go for an interview and if you pass the interview you will then proceed for a 6 months residential training
