Nigerian government accused of renting protesters against AI


The executive arm of Nigeria's government is being accused by New York-based news outfit Saharareporters for renting people to protest at the Abuja office of Amnesty International, a group that is active in documenting and reporting human right abuses around the globe.

The protest came after Amnesty International released a journal on the extrajudicial killing of over 150 pro-Biafran activists by Nigerian security forces between October 2015 and December 2016 alone.

Politician adopts orphaned daughter of deceased gunpowder accident victim


Mrs Ukamaka Okeke was accidentally struck by gunpowder "egbendum" during a burial ceremony in Anambra State last month. The mother of three had been earning her living for decades by practicing the traditional ovational gunshooting at events. The sad event of February 2017 got her bedridden and gasping for life.

In came Ikay Ogbonna, a kind-hearted Awka-based politician who kicked off a donation sprout to sponsor a much-needed medical surgery for the widow at Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu. Sadly, Ukamaka died in hospital on Friday 10th March and was buried the next day.

Ikay Ogbonna and his wife has now adopted the eldest daughter of Ukamaka, Chinaecherem Okeke, and promised to raise the orphan to university levels.

His words:
"The eldest daughter Chinaecherem Okeke (pictured here) is now the latest member of Ikechukwu Ogbonna family courtesy of my wife Ugo-Ikay Ogbonna and we will train her like our daughter till she is equipped enough to cater for her family and stand on her own.

"The first son will live with a teacher at Onitsha but will benefit from Dr. Nnamdi Okafor's scholarship package up to Higher institution.

"The last baby that is barely 6 years old will have a new home with Mrs. Ekwutozie Monyei Efobi who will cater for her upkeeps till she graduates from the university."

Hundreds of supporters came out to drum support for embattled Biafra secessionist Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court, Abuja today. Igbo age grades, town delegates and dozens of traditional leaders from Southeast and the Southsouth were present outside the court premises even as they were not allowed into the court compound.

Video: Area boys fight Yoruba movie actor and producer over "settlement" in Lagos


Filmmaker Ijaduade Ololade Azeez (not pictured) said that his crew encountered some area boys while they were shooting a movie in Ikorodu, Lagos State last weekend. The boys demanded money for the public location the movie was being recorded.

Azeez, the movie director also claimed that the boys inflicted injury on him and actress Afolabi Kemi during the encounter.

He wrote:

This crazy area boys won't kill us the actors one day...this is happening right now on our movie set @ikorodu.please this has to stop help us oooo.#saynotoactorsabuse. They injured me the director Afolabi Kemi ,the producer,camera man and some of the crew...please we need Nigerians to stand up for us

Photos of Apostle Suleman's car wiped off Daniella Okeke's IG, car registration deleted from LASG website


Traces of the rumored car bought by Apostle Suleman Johnson for Nollywood actress Daniella Okeke have vanished from the latter's Instagram profile where it was succulently splashed and placed on display previously.


Also, the page holding the reg number, chassis number and car owner (Apostle Suleman's name) information of the car has vanished from the Lagos State MVRD website.

However, all the details were screenshot by Somtoo Okoye blog before they vanished (see here).

Video: Yoruba woman nabs Edo girl sleeping with her husband in Abidjan


Two Nigerian females put up a show of shame for their neighbors and general public in Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast last weekend.

According to eyewitness, the woman from Yoruba extraction caught her husband pants down with a young girl said to be from Edo State and a fight (or rather beating) took place immediately.

Dearies, you see what females go through eh? The girl was disgraced while the cheating husband was reprimanded.

See student with down syndrome who said "I want to be president of Nigeria"


An unidentified Nigerian teenager with down syndrome has melted hearts after he announced on live TV that he would like to rule the country some day.

The incident took place during a recent annual event at his school where the student was interviewed by newsmen.

The video has since gathered thousands of views on social media.
