This is Calling on all well-meaning Edo State citizens. It is time to be on the alert and to begin an open support of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his deputy, Mallam Gani Audu on the journey to move Edo forward.

It is campaign time and the election is few weeks away. Those who do not want Edo State to move forward are getting ready and are cooking up white lies about our candidate. They must not go free. Edo state treasury is empty as we speak. The People Democratic Party (PDP) is back to loot and share the money.
Edo State needs Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his deputy, Mallam Gani Audu to make it a model in Nigeria. The APC cannot lose Edo state and the people return to Egypt.

A desperate governor who empties the state treasury to buy a party membership card and an expired gubernatorial ticket with doctored credentials is a fraud. Edo State cannot afford another four years of such a governor.

Let me testify that Adams Oshiomhole did not bring a Kobo to become the governor of Edo State. He may deny this; he may deny his people. On election day, he called me to say that rigging was too much in Edo North and that he was returning to Benin to address a press conference that he was withdrawing from the race.

“I told him that he cannot do that no matter what is happening. I told him to wait, and we will fight the battle. We fought the battle and eventually, Adams Oshiomhole became the governor of Edo State.

“After eight years, I see no functional hospital in Edo North. The only hospital does not have an x-ray machine to even diagnose the nature of an ailment. The people have no drinking water. They have no no industry despite being blessed.”

PastorIyamu2016:
GOVERNORSHIP candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu has narrated how he and a few others braced the odds in 2007 to make Comrade Adams Oshiomhole the governor of Edo State.

Ize-Iyamu, who said this in Auchi, noted that alongside Chief Tom Ikimi, he fought the battle that made Oshiomhole governor. He spoke at his party’s flagging-off campaign in Edo North Senatorial District. Pastor Osaze Ize-Iyamu He said when the decision of the zone to produce the next governor after the expiration of the tenure of Chief Lucky Igbinedion came up; they ensured that Edo North was allowed to produce the governor.

His words: “I challenge any Edo APC leader who can say that they influenced the governorship seat to Edo North. Certainly none of them. I stand among the first three, who said it must be Edo North. “Let me say that when your son, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole came, he had toured many political parties. He first went to the PDP; he went to ANPP and from there to the Labour Party. And from the Labour Party, he came to us to say; please help me so that I can become the first governor from the Edo North. And I said we would help you.

“Let me testify that Adams Oshiomhole did not bring a Kobo to become the governor of Edo State. He may deny this; he may deny his people. On election day, he called me to say that rigging was too much in Edo North and that he was returning to Benin to address a press conference that he was withdrawing from the race.

Politics / Re: How We Have Demystified The APC In Edo- Ize-iyamu PDP Governorship Candidate by Conductor261: 10:09pm On Jun 29, 2020
MadeInTokyo:

-The confidence with which he spoke that night before a handful of journalists drawn from across the country betrayed the underlying fact that he is the candidate of an opposition party that had been considered dead and buried in Edo State.

-Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election was almost entirely dismissive of his challenger on the ballot box, as he rather, sharpened his arrows at the incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

-It is a matter of irony. Ize-Iyamu was Comrade Oshiomhole’s campaign manager four years ago, and nine years earlier, was his proxy manager and strategist.

However, with time and themes changed, Ize-Iyamu that night built his confidence on what he alleged as the failure of the All Progressives Congress, APC government of which his main challenger, Godwin Obaseki is an intrinsic part of. “Today, people are very disillusioned and very dissatisfied. Just some days ago, our pensioners went on protest to Government House. Even though the governor was in his office, he refused to see them. He refused to grant them access, but it is interesting to hear what he said.

“Judicial service workers have not been paid their entitlements for over a year now. They went on a strike, asking that government should obey the court ruling which says they should enjoy financial autonomy. Even when they called off their strike, the governor declared that their entitlements should not be paid for the period they were on strike, and it runs into months. The judicial workers as at today are complaining. Students who voted for him believing that he would make education more accessible, have seen how he has reduced the standard of education, he has increased school fees. So, on what basis are students going to vote for him? “Okada riders who were at the forefront of the agitation to get him re-elected into government, the moment he came in, he banned them; but worse was the fact that he did not plan for them. There was no attempt to create an alternative for them. The only people he employed throughout his tenure were those youths he took under Edo Youth Empowerment Scheme. The moment the second term election was in the kitty, he sacked them; over 7,000 youths.

” Ize-Iyamu’s postulation is that disenchantment across the land would sink the candidate of the APC who is campaigning on the works of the outgoing governor. But given claims by officials of the outgoing administration that the preceding PDP administration of which Ize-Iyamu was a strategic player was the cause of the problems, the PDP candidate fires back: “Rather than show Edo people his scorecard, he has resorted to name-calling; insulting Ize- Iyamu, insulting Chief Tony Anenih and everybody in PDP; but the truth about it is that PDP is no longer in government. So, to continue to talk about the PDP when they were in government many years ago is laughable.

The reason you were elected was to correct what you felt was wrong with the PDP administration, and you have eight years to effect that correction. If after eight years, you are still complaining, it means that you have no clue. I can understand you are complaining a year or two years after; but eight years after you are still blaming PDP, then it means that you are not the right person for the job.” Indeed, in his perspective, the Edo people have forgotten the perceived failures of the last PDP administration and have rather focused attention on the perceived failures of the APC administration. He gave as his yardstick, the feat of the PDP in the last presidential election. “If you take your mind back to the 2015 presidential election, APC was demystified in Edo which has resulted in PDP having two out of three senators. We have five out nine members of House of Representatives. Many people do not know that of the 17 local governments that were announced in that election; PDP won 15 while APC managed to win only two. That result tells a story.” Given his strategic role in canvassing for Oshiomhole’s governorship quests in 2007 and 2012, it looked like a tricky question asking Pastor Ize-Iyamu if there was nothing that the outgoing governor could be credited for in the last eight years? “There are two areas that I felt that he has tried. One was the internally generated revenue (IGR) which is key to the sustainability of any state. When he came in it was about N300 million, and he announced that it had gone up to N2.5 bn. That to me was something to applaud. However, that money has nosedived, and the reason is not far-fetched. The government has not been able to put in place any machinery for attracting businesses or to sustain existing ones.

The tax policy is arbitrary and punitive. “So, Edo people are over-taxed, and a lot of the money is going into private pockets. Lots of revenue collectors have resorted to self-help. Money that ought to go into government coffers is going into private pockets. Sometimes ago, a member of the Produce Board resigned his appointment, saying that a member of that board was collecting all the money meant for the state and putting it into his private accounts. “So, I find it very difficult now to praise him on the IGR because of the fraud going on. At the same time, regarding percentage, he has not even done any miracle. When we were in government in 1999, the IGR of the state was N26m; the maximum was N30m. Before we left, we moved it to N300m. So, what they have done in terms of percentage is not even extraordinary when compared to what we did; but the reality is that the money has nosedived. What makes it even worse is that they collected $75m in one tranche, and they collected the second one for the purpose of growing our IGR.

They borrowed money from the World Bank to increase the IGR. After collecting the money, the IGR has gone down. So, something is wrong somewhere. They are going to make us pay for the money they collected in growing the IGR, yet the IGR is not growing. Instead it is going down. “The second area that I felt he should be praised was the attempt to deal with the flooding problem in Benin. So, when he took N30b, nobody complained; but at the tail-end of his administration, he announced to Edo people through his Commissioner for Environment that the job cannot be completed in 30 years. Of course, he does not have a tenure of 30 years. He did not disclose the percentage of work the N30b can do; he only said the project cannot be completed in 30 years. Instead, he will be doing it in phases. What this means is that after collecting N30b, he was telling us that he won’t be able to do what he has promised us.

Given all his focus on the outgoing governor, one was tempted to ask if he was intimidated by the credentials of his main rival, Mr. Obaseki? “How can you be intimidated by a man you don’t see? Every time the APC campaigns, the only man who is speaking is Adams Oshiomhole while the governorship candidate, Obaseki is pushed to the background. So, if the APC candidate is content with hiding under him, no problem. But when you say rich background, I am surprised. What rich background? Are you talking about his financial or academic background?

With due respect, even if one wants to be modest, when you want to talk about governance, the best Obaseki can lay claim to is that he was chairman of a non-existent Economic team. I have been Chief of Staff, Secretary to Government. The experience I have he (Obaseki ) cannot come near it. The Economic team they talked about, have they ever told you who are the members? How many times did they meet? What were the policies they churned out? For a state like Edo, with the level of economic mess that the state is in, it is shocking that somebody can stand up and say ‘I was in charge of the Economic team.’ He said he is a technocrat. Technocrat in what sense?

MadeInTokyo:
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, dismissed allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party that he received millions of naira as salaries as the head of the state’s economy and strategy team.

The PDP state Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, had during the party’s rally in Orhionmwon on Monday accused Obaseki of allegedly deceiving the citizens with claims that he (Obaseki) worked without any remuneration under the state government.

Orbih had also displayed documents, which he claimed were vouchers for payments allegedly made to the APC candidate.

But Obaseki, in a statement by the Director-General (Media and Publicity) of his campaign organisation, Abass Braimah, on Wednesday described the allegations as “tissues of lies”, adding that both the PDP and its candidate were “jealous” of his credentials and selfless service to the state.

Braimah said, “We believe that (Osagie) Ize-Iyamu and Orbih are jealous of the credentials of Obaseki and because all they do in the party is business, they cannot believe that somebody can make sacrifices for his people.

“Orbih and his factional candidate are fond of fabricating lies, particularly when it comes to displaying fake tellers.

“When has Orbih become a staff of the Accounts department of the state government to be able to be in possession of tellers, which are supposed to be official document?”

“We are inviting the police to investigate the matter because the PDP are known for forgery and misleading the public. Obaseki has not earned a kobo as salary from the state government and he should be commended.”

WHAT IS THE EDO STATE GOVERNMENT
CELEBRATING? FAILED CENTRAL HOSPITAL PROJECT?? 1ST AND 2ND EAST CIRCULAR ROAD BENIN CITY ABANDONED SINCE FIVE YEARS??

• All the water projects has been abandon and have stop working

• Empowering of thugs and cultist in the aim to fight Kidnappers. Who are kidnappers?

• Edo state get: N2.9 billion statutory allocation, N1.7 billion derivation fund plus IGR.

• Between November 12th 2008-December of 2009 Governor Oshiomhole borrowed 14.8 Billion Naira.

• From January 2010 to date, Governor Oshiomhole has borrowed N5billion from Sky Bank, another N5billion from United Bank of Africa (UBA), N2.2billion from Equatorial Trust Bank (ETB) and N2.9billion from First Bank of Nigeria

• Governor Oshiomhole has borrowed from World Bank ($46.92million) till date 1 cent has not been paid or loan serviced.

• Rehabilitation of Idia College, Benin City cost the tax payers N500 million

• 2.7 Billion naira was said to have been spent on Auchi erosion control. As I speak with you now, the money has been fully paid and there is no single work done.

• Adams Oshiomhole gave over 20 million Naira to some traditional rulers in Edo South senatorial district to request for a constitutional position of Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly. This is the taxpayers’ money.

• During the briefing before the State House of Assembly, the then Commissioner for Environment claimed to have spent over N4 Billion Naira on ordinary designing of erosion control in Benin City and its environ. The said design project was never advertised.

• The Commissioner of Environment also told the State House of Assembly that the government had expended over 250 million Naira to remove sand from the gutter and disilting. Yet everywhere you go, no gutter is found disilted.

• Edo state didn’t have local government elected chairmen for our 5years in the 18 local government council.

• Edo state only state university AAU has not had a vice chancellor (VC) since 2008 till date.

• Edo state the heart beat of Nigeria has turn into a nightmare and den of robbers, kidnappers, hooliganism, and cultism is now the order of the day. From the speaker of the Edo state house of assembly to the gatemen at the gate in Anthony Enahoro complex are all cultists. Yet we dread Boko Haram.

• Governor Oshiomhole has gone prodigal, as he want to sell Edo house in Lagos to build a hotel in Benin-City, can you imagine the short sightedness, what is the economic value of a hotel in Benin, compare to a house in Amadu Bello way in Victoria Island in Lagos, that generate over 120million annually to Edo state Government.

• Governor Oshiomhole country home of Iyamho. As it is now widely known, he is building an estate of gargantuan proportion, spread on over 93 acres of land., containing: an amphitheatre, a sixty-five bedroom mansion, sixteen outhouses, three separate man-made caves, a round-the-entire-perimeter artificial lake, an Olympic-size swimming pool, with a king-size fountain and Jacuzzi in the centre. What is the size of Samuel Ogbemudia stadium?

I weep for our dear state, in the hands of an emperor, but I also remember the wind of Ibori must blow.

When I got to Auchi, I bought fuel at the NNPC Mega Station, I must admit that after buying fuel, I wanted to start the car when I noticed the gear lever was on drive position. I moved it to park but when I turned the ignition, it refused to start. From that Saturday to Tuesday, 23rd June 2020 several mechanics from Benin came to check the car and their conclusion was for me to replace camshaft sensors and ECU. Scan results showed the following codes: P0447, P1564, P1615, P0340 and P0345. I have bought over 10 camshaft sensors and three ECUs(brain boxes) but the vehicle cranks but has still refused to start.

Oohh yes... Sorry for the late reply, turns out the fuel I bought from Nnpc in okota Road lagos was rubbish, had to fill my tank again in petrocam again and I got 260miles when the fuel gauge was on empty. My friend said I can still drive it for another 10miles or so, but I don't want to risk damaging my fuel pump by avoiding it pumping dirts from the fuel tank. Also I fill my tank from E-F with ₦6,000 which is like 50ltrs of fuel. Don't know if that's a good fuel economy or I should be worried

In serious hold up. Your car should run 13km/litre....

In combined cycle that is mixed highway and hold up driving 15km/litre

On full highway 17km/litre

Let's use the worst value of 13km/litre... This means 650km to 50 litres..

But you're getting 418km that is 260miles.

Is your fuel economy okay?

In Business school, the love isn't enough to be shared! Everything here apart from pure fraud cases is banter (some people will say there's malicious intent somewhere, I don't begrudge them their views), this drives traffic to their hustle, most people believe if you have a business then you must be modest and keep your head above troubled waters always, well it works sometimes but I am fairly certain that this does not work for salesmen - a little issue/controversy here and there generates what greases the palms!

People don't see the free business lectures on here. Ikenna still does consultations and vehicle purchases for clients offline, he makes his money easily. Gazz is still picking, the harsh words don't hurt these men. You can't be an active member on Cartalk for more than a decade and not have thick skin. Both men are very approachable offline, calm and collected! I've been very lucky to meet most of the people on here offline and I know sometimes not to take their e-fights seriously. I for one like and respect Gazz a lot, when I started learning DIYs from my Dad who actually fixes his cars himself, I will sometimes have Gazz on the phone for more than an hour on multiple occasions, he's always willing to help.

I've met Ikenna - he's not as fiery as he is here, he's a good listener and actually wears a smile and doesn't charge the consultation always, unless it involves proprietary information.

Honorable mentions to Nurey and Oluwaseunla - there was a time they did everything they could to help me find an S-Class, very professional and tolerant and till date, they are still helpful. There are a lot of people on nairaland that will help you if you know how to ask! I remember when you offered me steady support offline for my w211 and even the contacts for your Benz people in Port Harcourt. I'm certain Ikenna isn't going anywhere!

Edit: I plan on meeting Radautoworks after the lockdown - roam around and look for deals in that shop. I even forgot to add Kingreign - I remain loyal!
