It has been a little while, but Floyd Mayweather is back at it again. It seems that the Money Man has not added to his luxury car collection for several months and was long overdue. This time, he has purchased a 2017 Bugatti Chiron in advance, after telling a friend that he wanted to upgrade his Bugatti collection. The now retired boxer dropped an amazing $3.5 million on his pre-order Bugatti. If this story sounds awfully familiar, it is. Just this past October, Floyd bought another Bugatti luxury car for you guessed it, $3.5 million. That car was a 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. At that time, his car guy, Obi Okeke, stated that "Floyd's car collection is worth about $16 million right now and he wants to push it up to $30 million, and the biggest challenge for me is to find him very special unique cars." He has done just that with Floyd's latest addition to his luxury car collection. The car's official unveiling will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show and will feature an 8.0 liter W-16 quad-turbocharged engine with 1500 horsepower and a top speed of 288 miles per hour. Floyd Mayweather's luxury car collection has been well documented, and it seems that he is not slowing down anytime soon, even after retiring from boxing undefeated. With a net worth of $400 million, a car like this only represents less than 1% of his wealth and is well within his budge

Sometimes you make a decision, and it ends up turning out great. Other times, you might look back and say, "oh, that wasn't the best outcome, but still, not too shabby." Then there are the decisions where it becomes clear very quickly that you made the wrong choice. For Spencer Haywood, that choice cost him a LOT of money. $8.6 billion, to be exact. The former ABA and NBA star was thought to be a valuable player coming out of college, and understandably so: he had averaged 32.1 points and an NCAA-leading 21.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore at the University of Detroit, his final year in college. Thanks to NBA rules, Haywood was not allowed to enter the league as a sophomore, so he joined the Denver Rockets of the ABA. In one season with the Rockets, he averaged 30 points and 19.5 rebounds per game. After that season, he was signed by the Seattle Supersonics, and since he was still ineligible, he was part of an anti-trust suit with the NBA, eventually winning and being able to play in the league. It was around this time that Haywood was approached by Nike, then an upstart shoe company. They had an offer for him: $100,000 or a 10% stake in the company to promote their shoes. In an ultimate example of an agent royally screwing a player, Haywood's agent strongly urged Haywood to take the money now, rather than investing in the young company. Nike had formed as Blue Ribbon Sports back in 1964, and only became Nike in 1971, so it's understandable why Haywood took the money instead of company shares. However, that move backfired completely. Haywood went on to have a fairly successful career, winning a title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1980. Towards the end of his playing days, he became addicted to cocaine, and was actually dismissed from the Lakers for falling asleep during a practice because of his addiction. Nike, meanwhile, continued to grow and thrive as a company, endorsing more players throughout the sports world, branching out into athletic apparel, and generally being very successful. Naturally, that led to an increase in their value. Today, they're worth $86.2 billion. 10 percent of that, or what would have been Haywood's share, is $8.6 billion.

Having the opportunity to sign someone who would go on to be the best-selling hip-hop artist of all-time to a record deal sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity, right? Having that opportunity slip through your hands twice would probably make you lose sleep. But what if I told you there is a person who had the opportunity to sign the best-selling hip-hop artist of all time an astonishing SIX TIMES, and passed on the opportunity every single time? Here's how the story goes. Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) is the rapper who holds the title of the most all-time records sold by a hip-hop artist with over 155 million records sold. Yes, the 42-year-old from Detroit of all places has sold more records than Jay Z, Biggie, and 2 Pac. In 1997, Eminem placed second in the Rap Olympics, a battle rap competition that was held in Los Angeles. Though Em didn't win the competition, an Interscope Records employee sent a copy of Eminem's latest project at the time, the Slim Shady EP, to Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine. Iovine played the EP for Dr. Dre, founder of Aftermath Entertainment. As a result of hearing the EP, Dre immediately wanted to work with Eminem. They proceeded to work together on the highly successful Slim Shady LP, which released in February 1999, and went triple platinum by the end of the year. The duo would proceed to create platinum album after platinum album together, and the rest is history. But back to the guy who whiffed SIX TIMES on the chance to sign Eminem. The person in question? None other than Fat Joe (real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena). Fat Joe revealed the fact in a recent interview, when he said: "I got so many regrets… The biggest is that Eminem gave me so many demos – six different times he approached me and I didn't sign him. Shame on me."

God please elevate me like Mark Zuckerberg |
Last week, thanks to FB's strong quarterly performance, Mark saw his net worth increase from around $40 billion to $48 billion, practically overnight. That was enough to allow the 31-year-old tech titan's overall wealth to jump over billionaire brothers, David and Charles Koch, as well as Mexican telecom tycoon, Carlos Slim. This week, Facebook's stock showed that it wasn't done growing. FB's share price is up another 5% as of today's closing, which tops Mark's net worth off at just over $50 billion. Meanwhile, the last week has not been so kind to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Between last Thursday and today alone, Amazon's share price has declined 16%. With that drop, Jeff Bezos' net worth has been trimmed by around $7 billion. And with these moves, Bezos has slipped under Mark in terms of current total net worth, $49 billion vs. $50 billion, respectively. So as of this writing, the only people on the planet who are richer than Mark Zuckerberg are Warren Buffett ($60 billion), Zara founder Amancio Ortega Gaona ($70 billion) and Bill Gates ($78 billion). It's being speculated that Kendall Jenner the daughter of celebrity Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner), half-sister to the Kardashians has said that she'd jump at the opportunity to go on a date with Madrid star CR7 if he asked her. Kendall Jenner happens to be one of the world's most googled models and it looks like she has caught the Portuguese star's eye. CR7 has shown an interest in the model, an indication being the fact that he has 'liked' several of her pictures on social media |
