Militants in the Gaza Strip were caught on camera Tuesday morning assembling a rocket launch site which they then used to fire a flurry of rockets into Israel on Wednesday minutes before a ceasefire came into effect in Gaza. Sreenivasan Jain and NDTV filmed suspected Hamas members assembling the rocket launch site beneath a tent in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The launch site was placed within feet of hotels and apartment blocks in a crowded residential area. "If Hamas does fire a rocket from here, it would have immediate consequences for everyone around here," Jain said in the NDTV video segment. "The first night that we came here, we did see, or hear, a rocket go off exactly at that plot of land. The hotels opposite us were evacuated because the Israelis sent a warning that there might be a strike on them." In the video, militants assemble a rocket launching system under a blue tent in a residential area on August 4. Three men made multiple trips into and out of the tent, connecting the device under the tarp with wires, before placing the launcher underneath a bush and some sand. The rocket was launched minutes before a 72-hour ceasefire between Hamas and Israel was to come into effect. Israel has faced a barrage of criticism over the conduct of its military operations and the mounting civilian death toll in Gaza. Israeli officials have argued that Hamas routinely fires rockets from civilian areas, causing Israeli retaliatory strikes that result in civilian deaths. Before striking civilian buildings, Israel sends a warning that there could be an airstrike. If a strike is to take place, Israel then launches a smaller missile to "knock" on a building before bombing it 15 minutes later. Hamas has been widely criticized for launching rockets into Israel from densely packed civilian areas. However, Hamas has generally avoided being captured on film, and as New York Times photographer Tyler Hicks explained, during this war it's been very unusual for journalists to even see the group's militants operating out in the open at any time. NDTV reported that the video was published after the team had left the Gaza strip, so as to limit any retribution from Hamas towards the journalists. Gaza: In the minutes before the ceasefire kicked in at Gaza this morning, Hamas fired a flurry of rockets towards Israel - 30 according to some counts. Israel has argued that that these rockets are fired from civilian areas, and this is why its retaliatory strikes can result in civilian casualties. But this morning, NDTV witnessed one such rocket silo being created under a tent right next to the hotel where our team was staying. Minutes later, we saw the rocket being fired, just before the 72-hour ceasefire came into effect. It began with a mysterious tent with a blue canopy that bobbed up yesterday (August 4) at 6:30 am in an open patch of land next to our window. We saw three men making a multitude of journeys in and out of the tent, sometimes with wires. An hour later, they emerged, dismantled the tent, changed their clothes and walked away. The next morning - today - we woke to news of the 72-hour ceasefire but just before it was to take effect, the rocket next to our hotel was fired. There was a loud explosion and a whooshing sound. The cloud of smoke that rose was captured by our cameraperson. This report is being aired on NDTV and published on ndtv.com after our team left the Gaza strip - Hamas has not taken very kindly to any reporting of its rockets being fired. But just as we reported the devastating consequences of Israel's offensive on Gaza's civilians, it is equally important to report on how Hamas places those very civilians at risk by firing rockets deep from the heart of civilian zones. http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/ndtv-exclusive-how-hamas-assembles-and-fires-rockets-571033 |
Bitter kola possible cure for Ebola virus – US-based doctor A Nigerian doctor based in the United States, Maurice Iwu, has claimed that Garcinia kola, popularly called bitter kola in West Africa may be a possible drug against the deadly Ebola virus. Bitter kola, a staple health fruit in Nigeria, was reported to have stopped the virus at test tube experiments. The virus has so far killed more than 600 victims since its outbreak in Guinea, with Nigeria’s only recorded death being that of Liberian consultant, Patrick Sawyer, who died in Lagos last week. An Inquirer Washington Bureau reported Iwu who made this discovery, as saying that a cure could be sourced from the same African forests where the disease was identified. Iwu is a doctor with a combination of folk-remedy expertise and a doctorate in Western pharmacology. He is also the Executive Director of the Bioresources Development and Conservation Programme, and a consultant at Walter Reed Army Hospital in suburban Washington. One of the top infectious-disease laboratories in the US was said to have tested the fruit, and said that it passed the crucial and difficult first hurdle. A virus expert who heads the effort at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in Fort Detrick, Maryland, to find antiviral drugs to fight exotic diseases, John Huggins, said, “It certainly is a promising compound. So far, it’s made it through all the gates that it has been sent through.” But there are many more tests to be done, first on mice in the next few months, and eventually primates, before it would be used on people, Huggins said. Only one of 20 prospective drugs that pass the test-tube test makes it onto the market, so the odds are against the fruit, Huggins said. A Professor of Microbiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Lawrence Gelb, said, “I would be – and am – very sceptical. But you can’t be an outright cynic; eventually some (prospective drug) works.” The reason bitter kola may have an edge over other types of drugs that work in lab tests is that many drugs often prove toxic to people and animals in subsequent testing, whereas bitter cola has been used for centuries, and has gotten federal approval as a safe dietary supplement, Head of Applied Research at Missouri Botanical Garden, who has tried to develop plants as medicine in the past, Jim Miller, said. |

obadiah777: whats bogus is your brain. break this down for me >>> acts 17 vs 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;i would have ignore you but i see that you love to seek knowledge( but you need assistance in terms of direction) so i will like to assist you to present an arguement when you are in conversation, always keep in perspective the reason why the conversation started and to refresh your memory and those that will read this you started by saying christians can only deny in deeds and not in words, and then you followed on by responding to another quote that "i worship at home. they dont teach nothing in these churches. my pastor is the holy spirit in me. it leads me to the living waters lol" and then i told you that will be a violation(denial in deed)of Heb 10:25, thatsays we should not forsake the gathering of the brethren then you later quoted the scripture above now to asssit you, God is spirit and far above whatever we can think or imagine, on that we are one keep in mind that i asked what were the disciples doing gathering from houses to houses, the enphases is on gathering and not where they gathered, you can gather anywhere because the scripture says where 2 or 3 is that God is there. so now back to my question as regard Heb 10:25, since you say we can only deny in deed, it means you are denying in deeds. please keep you answer in perspective and dont be jumping from scripture to scripture that do not have a flow. this is for you own good as you might need it for business presentation and other life skills on a lighter note since you like quoting scripture, why did David (a man after Gods heart)say i was glad when they say let us go into the house of the lord, we both know his sheperd experiance is was lovely with God but why did he say that. (please do not respond to this, because you will want to use this to hide sleep tite, he giveth grace to the humble |
obadiah777: a church is a gathering of men and they have discussions. and learn from each other. they dont have a cult like figure while everybody listens like oyedepo and oyakhilome. that is idolatry. secondly in christianity you have women preachers. thirdly in christianity you all donate money as tithes and then one person keeps it. and then in christianity you believe in the immaculate conception. and in christianity you dont know how to relate scriptures to the world we live in. and in christianity you think the old testament is extinct. in christianity you think you are under grace. in christianity the church is a den of iniquity full of lusts and all kinds of perversions. need i continue ?i did not ask you what happens in the modern church, i asked what were the disciples doing gathering from houses to houses what ever you think they were doing, please do it, so that you will not deny in deed as you claim simple and short, no long stories and bogus confusing axplanations |
obadiah777: it says dont deny the assembly of others in the truth seeing as iron sharpens iron. didnt mention organized religion. big differencebottom line is this stop trying to give bogus explanation to the scriptures, it is simple and plain love you neighbour as yourself and leave all this over doing, thats how people dive into doctrines of demon |
obadiah777: it says dont deny the assembly of others in the truth seeing as iron sharpens iron. didnt mention organized religion. big differencewhat is organise religion?(please dont bother answering) when the disciples gathered in their houses what were they doing but nevertheless you deny in deed if you dont find a group no matter how small to share |
obadiah777: hey Deschil i worship at home. they dont teach nothing in these churches. my pastor is the holy spirit in me. it leads me to the living waters lolHeb 10:24and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. so ask yourself are you denying in deed according to this scripture |
