Hello mamas, how are u all doing?i always wish I could contribute often to this thread but dis my job will not even allow me use my phone during work hours which is one of the issues that has brought me here tonight. So I'm considering the option of taking my LO to a crèche as I have not been able to find a replacement for my nanny that'll be leaving in December. My concerns are 1. How can I find a good crèche around Ogba and Ikeja environs? 2. How do I sort out feeding for my LO cos I resume work 7am and close 7pm. 3. I can't use my phone during the day and I can't go out of d office,so checking up on my LO at school is almost impossible but I guess my hubby will be d one to do that if he doesn't forget to always call. Pls I need mummies to suggest good crèches that they have used and can confidently say they are good or if u AV any reliable nanny contacts as I may still be needing one. My baby is just a year and one month and I just feel awful not been able to take care of her myself but not working means leaving my husband to handle all the bills and other responsibilities

tchiwinnie:
The nannies at my son's creche re good. I kinda trust dem wt feeding my lo. He didn't actually start adult food on tym. BT wen I was sure he was accepting it at home, I starting packing for him for schl. I cook his food to b soft. softer than ours. I started packing it for him wen he was abt 1yr 6months

How about getting another nanny? She can come few weeks b4 d current one leaves so both u and ur baby get used to her.

Thanks ma'am. That is an option too but lil madam has to start school at some point. As per getting a nanny,i need mamas in d house who have been lucky to get good ones to help out with their connection o. The one i have dt is leaving in december isnt actually a professional nanny. She happens to be a mum to my cousin's friend and when she heard i was stranded last year when i was resuming work and didnt have anyone, she offered to come and help.she has been so good to us and takes very good care of my LO.just thinking about how we will cope when she's gone makes me sad.Replacing her is a major issue now cos i dont know if i can use any of these agencies with all d scary stories we hear everyday. I used dem once and dey sent me a 22yr old girl whi didnt last more than a month. All she ever did was browse on her phone make calls to her boyfriends and eat all d food in d house. She cldnt even change a diaper but had to teach her. Eventually i found out frm d security guy that anytime i sent her to buy drinks or whatever, she was seen kissing and doing all sort with some guy on our street. Barely 1month and already has a boyfriend in d area. Dts y i decided i wld rather go for an elderly person who has experience being a mum and isnt crazy about social media and all cos dts what really distracts these young ones. So anyone with an idea of where i can get a mature nanny shld pls help out as i will be needing one by December. Thanks lovely people and Happy Independence

I love ur idea and it has crossed my mind too but i work in Ops unit in a bank and once u become a supervisor u will be moved around often especially when someone in another branch goes on leave so what this means is dt i may be in Ikeja for now then if someone in mushin branch or any branch within ikeja region goes on leave,i will have to go and relief the person so d creche that was close enough at d time may end up being far when im on relief. At d moment i stay at Ogba but my hubby works on d island and drives 4hrs every evening so we are considering moving towards yaba gbagada side so im thinking if i put my baby in creche by december when nanny leaves, will i change her creche again if we move in april. The idea of using a creche close to d office wkd av bn perfect if i will always be in a particular branch. But i guess dat is still my best option for now. Thanks a lot mamas. I really hope i dont go crazy worrying so much.

MiracleMum:

You may have to use a creche close to your office. Thats what i do, cos i and hubby close late and we dont have anyone to do pick ups for us. I also did not want to give myself high B.P when there's traffic and am rushing back home to pick my daughter. It happened to my colleague, she left office at 5pm with the hope to get to her sons creche by 5:30pm only for the road to be standstill. she alighted from her hubby's car and started walking to the creche which was still a distance, she finally got a bike that took her there and that was 7pm (her sons food had finished, all his diaper had also been used and he had poo in his bum bum) she cried that day ehnnn and immediately registered the boy close to our office. Since then she's had peace of mind.

Since i close late, i pick my daughter by 4pm and bring her to my office. Then we close by 6pm. so even if the whole of lagos is on standstill, am rest assured my world is by me smiling.

Hello beautiful mamas, how are ur LOs?Trust everyone is doing well.I have been having sleepless nights cos my nanny who has bn absolutely awesome will be leaving in Dec(going hom to help babysit for her daughter).my baby just clocked 1,my hubby&i close late (not by choice) so even if we start creche now,i av no idea who will be picking her up cos most creches close by 7pm which is late already.how are d working mums doing it cos it just seems impossible to find a reasonable solution.i wish i cld be a stay@home mum but its not an option.even if im lucky to find another nanny, she cant pick my child up frm creche with keke or bike. Anyone with any bright ideas? Wld appreciate ur response. Thanks

Na wa o. Which kain bank job be that? I know banks that give mothers time to go home and breastfeed their babies. I wonder why yours don't have same rule. You either go home or someone brings d baby to you. Ask in your office cos its possible its allowed

It's branch operations and we're not allowed to go out. Sometimes it's so busy we can't even have lunch in d same building. It's sad but naija factor will not allow me fight it when I don't av am alternative

jam04:

Find a good creche close to your work place. The creche should be as close as possible so that you can stroll in anytime to check on your baby.

The problem is not finding a creche but we're not allowed to go out during work hours that's y I said it's hard to change jobs cos I can't even attend interviews unless I make up a story to leave work.my baby is going

Compliments of d season Nairalanders...I'm a 1st time mum&resuming work tomorrow after maternity leave.as much as I like to work and want to earn an income, I don't want to go back to my bank job cos it's very stressful, I don't av a specific closing time&i feel bad that I won't av time for my baby.i av tried applying for jobs but no show.b cos I work in operations, we resume 7.15am and Can close anytime from 7pm.so dt means I'll probably leave d house 6am and may not b back home till 9th or later so how do I av family time. I know that's how lagos life is but I'm not happy with this and my hubby doesn't want me to resign until I find another job. Truth is I can't attend interviews cos in d last 1yr iv had interviews I couldn't go for because of d nature of my job.im just so confused. Wish a miracle cld happen before tomorrow morning so that I won't have to go back to work. I'm thankful I av a job to go to nd grateful for God's blessings but if u r not in my shoes u may not understand this feeling. What can I do?

Hello,if some of d pple u did test, interview or medicals with have been called and u haven't,don't be worried. Like someone mentioned earlier,it's done in batches and it will surely get to ur turn. We will be rounding up in 2wks time so relax guys. I know how it feels but worrying won't help. Congrats to d pple resuming on monday and to those yet to be called, what u av left to wait is not up to how long u've waited so start preparing

Wow,congrats to those who get ts invite. This confirms how unpredictable db is. When most pple thot it'd be Aug 5. Anyways,I'll advise dt those who haven't received their invites shld hold on to those phones very tight. Even if u wanna use d rest room, pls take it along. Like 4pple joined us 3days after we started t.sch and they were called without prior notice. A number of pple were called but Some declined cos they hadn't resigned frm their places of work while some missed d calls and after calling back, they were asked to wait for d next batch. I'm not trying to raise anyone's hope unnecessarily, but I can't imagine how painful it'll be if after waiting for so long, they call and u miss their calls. All d best guys and for d pple resuming on d 29th,chei,d lectures and exams no b beans but u'll av fun,dts for sure.

Hello pple, been a while o.ok,lemme jst address my reason 4 coming here today. It's true dt pple av come here to share info dt we all benefited from but guys,it is risky when u share info dt are beyond test and interview tips. Once u get to ts,u will swear an oath and sign all sorts of agreement. If u've waited months b4 getting d opportunity to enter ts,u wld not want to risk ur chance of getting a permanent job with dem by going against something u've sworn to,cos dbhr actually know abt dis thread, they confirmed it to us d 1st day we resumed and since u know u don't av anoda job,u wld not risk divulging some info. Being in ts is not a guarantee dt u've gotten d job. It's understandable dt pple will get curious while waiting,we've all bn thru dt phase but sometimes it's good to call dbhr for some info like what they can do for u if ur preggy or wanna av ur wedding cos they are d only ones dt av d power to giv u d goahead. Whatever anyone tells u here is mere speculation. Also,u can ask someone to send u a pm,at least dt will b a bit more private. As per salary, even while in ts they won't tell u d actual amount u'll get after conversion so pls, let's desist frm insulting one another. When ur in ts,u won't remember u quarelled with someone cos u'll end up needing their help no matter how grammatically sound u think u are or how smart u think u are.so my brothers and sisters, whether u did ur test in lag, abj, owerri, calabar, enugu or wherever,u can b sent to any ts that exists and it can be any batch, jst because u'v done medicals does not mean u're qualified for d next ts. Db is d only one dt can authoritatively say dis is where u'll b. Happy Sunday to u all and rather than use dis forum to beef or insult pple,do something meaningful with ur time

Gombs:

See as you dey fall your hand? So, cos there's muslim holiday dat week, so na only muslims dey go d TS for abj, cos abj na North? So odas go resume instead of Abj because "there's muslim p.hol dt week and Db observes p.holidays", what a stinking pile of BS!!!

You called it a public holiday which of course is national, so it won't stretch to d south, abi because contactlahrie said so?

You don fall hand sha o!

Wen I did my interview in abj, d interviewer said dey needed more hnds in d North, esp towards kano, jigawa, jos, even borno sef! He promptly said "you're going to Jos". Bottom line sha is, I thank Eledumare say you no dey HR office...because your above calculation sums it all!

See,this is exactly y I don't comment on dis thread, cos I don't like to exchange words with pple who still wear pampers but were fortunate to av finished sch early. Mayb u shld go back to bed then come and read what I wrote again. Whether db needs pple in d north or not,if there's public holiday the day/week they're supposed to start TS,it'll surely affect resumption date cos they won't work on those days and it's not jst Abj,it's nationwide. Which is y I simply said ts "may" not start dt day but I guess u didn't see d "may". I don't blame u anyways, waiting can cause pple to take out their frustrations on other pple. Na u fall my hand cos u obviously didn't understand my msg which was quite straightforward and wasn't intended to hurt any "mature" person's feelings. I'm most definitely out of here. Wish u guys all d best and while ur waiting, get urselves busy. So dt u don't get frustrsated then come on NL to insult pple

Nawa ooo...enugu too dey talk. Well it has happened before to Ibadan peeps in February (Doyexy) and Calabar peeps...that's if you guys are not that plenty. DB is actually unpredictable sha but with plenty backlogs sha they will want to post accordingly...best wishes!!!

Hello pple,as much as I understand how crazy it is waiting for so long,I can assure u dt ur speculations won't help cos if u r not dbhr,u can't say for sure what will happen next. 1st of all,Abj TS may not even resume Aug 5 cos there's muslim p.hol dt week and Db observes p.holidays. Besides, what happened with calabar peeps that time was dt db opened new branches and had to send their pple on training so dt they can resume on time (insider fact). As fresh as enugu pple are,if there's urgent need for dem, they will b merged with d next available ts. So jst because u did intrvw and med in one region doesn't mean that's where u will train,if there's urgent need for u,u myt b asked to leave owerri to join lag ts if they are d next available ts. The funny story I heard was dt after that april ts finished,d owerri babes refused to go back to their region cos lag Db guys don use swagger finish dem,na so dem see fine correct db boys dem no wan go back to owerri. Some were lucky anyways cos there was space in lagos branches so they were retained in lagos (oweeri boys abeg no vex o,na ur babes open una yansh outside o)...lol So what all dis my story simply means is that, whether u argue frm today till 2014,Db will do as they please so my advice to u all especially those that av bn waiting since december 2012 is that, pls pray that u find God's favour so that u will not be left behind. Wish u all d best

smilingchi: just wondering though, if one is expecting a baby, anyone with a valid response from diamond bank.

If u r already pregnant, pls ensure u tell them at d hospital and pls DO NOT do d x-ray. Someone on NHJ mentioned she was preggy, went for medicals and did d x-ray and she eventually lost d pregnancy.it may b other factors but a good doctor wld never let a pregnant woman under x-ray unless d doctor is not aware so pls tell dem o. I'm not sure if pregnant women are allowed at t.sch but I know once ur in t.sch u can get preggy. Unlike some other banks and companies,DB doesn't disturb u frm getting pregnant,as long as ur not lazy and u do ur work well,no one will disturb u. Goodluck

Seriously this is funny. If pple have been calling Db Hr for all kinds of things, why isn't this as important? Simply call to confirm if they are conducting any test there,it's that simple. It's obviously not Db cos their msgs always comes from 'DIAMOND' and definitely not 'interview',but my advice, simply call them b4 u make a mistake of going to such a place
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Diamond Bank Test by contactlahrie(f): 2:53pm On Jun 27, 2013
That's y it's good to be prayerful. Although,Db usually sends a reminder text a day to d interview date. But imagine the pple who have been waiting for so long to get an invite, only to discover that they had sent it and they never received it. I'm really happy for u guys o,may devil never steal our joy.
