3kay945:they cannot leave that weapon behind! it serves them a purpose - to scare the devil out of anyone that might want to engage them in a shootout. no police force would sanction a shootout with such a weapon in the heart of a city. this is not sambisa forest. too many civilians would be dead. |
Khabuqi:like i have told you, these guys aren't cult boys. if they happen to be mercenaries, they would stroll to the machine gun, examine the wound suffered by the dead robber, assess the direction of the bullet and aim in the general direction. my $5 says they would get lucky after the 50th catridge has been dispensed. ![]() 190theclown:the gun does 99% of the job.... however, their perseverance is unparalleled. a sniper can maintain one position for 3 days without moving. no food, no water, no movement for plenty of hours. that is the skill they get praised for - not exactly the pulling of the trigger. how many people would miss a stationary object in a magnified cross-hair. the telescope has done most of the job. just squeeze(not pull) the trigger and you would register the kill. |
Ikwokrikwo:they would shoot sporadically as they are entering the building to find cover. it's all theoretical though but the skill level is the key. we often think robbers are always clueless idiöts that don't know what they are doing - it's a fatal assumption. what makes you think these guys aren't ex-military boys or mercenaries hired by a big chief? pamcode:you are more concerned about the safety of the sniper - what about the safety of the civilians? when robbers lose a gang member in an operation, what's their general reaction? ![]() |
190theclown:the job of the sniper is the easiest - what they are commended for is their limitless perseverance & not their accuracy. the gun is modified to aid their job. the range is huge; they have a dead accurate telescope to mark their targets. wetin remain? ![]() any of us here can be a sniper. if you don't believe me, grab a copy of call of duty. ![]() charles009:at what cost? |
Ikwokrikwo:the range of that gun is about 3km. nah, there are plenty of targets for them to aim at. there must be people in those surrounding buildings. all they need to do is to find a cover & they would evade the so called sniper. they have the superior firearm! Khabuqi:they don't have to be accurate..... he has 100 rounds to spare - they would just use the scatter gun approach. aim at the general direction of the sniper & they might get lucky. whereas the sniper has to be dead accurate for his own safety. ![]() |
Ikwokrikwo:so you don't think it depends on the skill level between the robbers & the sniper? before the sniper would assemble his weapon, find a good spot, etc the robbers would be gone. even if a good sniper was already in place, he would consider the consequences before shooting. this is not rambo or commando! a lot of people would die if he misses. 190theclown:you watch too many movies. ![]() |
TreQuartista:buhahahaha dayokanu has been caught red handed. ![]() i cant wait for dayo's rebuttal. |
moonraker:where's the lie? ![]() |
Khabuqi:you watch too many movies. ![]() any good sniper? |
Ikwokrikwo:do you really think the robbers would care about finding their target. everyone else apart from the members of the gang would become the primary targets. why do you think police negotiate with robbers in saner climes? it's to prevent the number of casualties. these robbers are often high on drugs before commencing an operation like this. they are tense & on the edge - they need the slightest excuse to pull that trigger. don't try it..... i am 100% sure the law would hold the sniper fully responsible if things go horribly wrong whereby the robbers start shooting at innocent people. it's a very delicate situation. you just cannot shoot at robbers holding a mass killing machine gun. |
Ikwokrikwo:the element of surprise means there would be no sniper in place. what makes 99% of all robberies successful is the element of surprise. they strike when people least expect it and before police reacts, they are long gone. |
Darkrebel666:i watch movies! breadandbutter:no police force in the world would have been able to deal with robbers carrying M60. it would take a bit of time to contain them. Imagine this robbery happened in London or Newyork. I can bet the robbers perimeter would have been surrounded and many helicopters will be in the air. They will be caught unless they commit suicidego and read about the infamous north hollywood bank robbery. LAPD was subdued by 2 robbers. just 2 of them held down a bank for 45 mins. police ran out of ammo, fled to a gun store to pack more ammo before the robbers could be stopped! the robbers were well armed, well protected by modified bulletproof gear & they went apeshït. they even shot at the helicopters covering the news. it's the scariest bank robbery i have heard of. |
Ikwokrikwo:in every robbery operation, big risks are taken by robbers. that is part of their profession. you cannot get any reward in this life without taking big risks. being exposed is nothing - it's not like anyone knew they were coming. robbers always rely on the element of surprise. breadandbutter:jonathan's visit to lagos caused the shortage of police. if we are honest, i am sure not even the heavy presence of police could have stopped these robbers. our police carry inferior firearms. they would have fled! Ikwokrikwo:even me wey dey play call of duty knows the direction of bullet. these guys are professionals - with a giant set of balls to attack a bank in broad day light in that part of lagos. they could be military boys! They were facing different directions, they had their own sound of gun shots to distract them.and that exactly is the point. entry wound/exit wound would point the direction the bullet came from. whatever happens next is anyone's guess. if they decide to do an eye for an eye, it's the grass(common people) that would bear the brunt. |
Ikwokrikwo:if they are well trained, they would know the direction of the bullet. that's the easiest bit. what would happen next is anyone's guess - they could panic and flee for their lives or go apeshit and smash every window in that vicinity. the range is 3km..... the gun's performance can go from sustained to rapid to cyclical - between 100 rounds/min to about 500 rounds/min. by now, lagos state would have declared a full month of national mourning. the sniper would have caused more harm than good to engage them. |
Ikwokrikwo:you don't even know the level of skill of these robbers? what if they were retired military officers? mercenaries? middle-east trained terrorists? i nor pity you! the gun weighs about 10kg. it's a difficult weapon to hold. most of the time, it's mounted on a tripod - no sniper would even try it cos he would know he's at a disadvantage. |
Ikwokrikwo:you are kidding, right! that's an M60 general purpose machine gun. the length of that belt means he has about 100 rounds. the maximum range of that gun is about 3km. it's the perfect killing machine. why would they take such ammo to a robbery operation if they aren't already used to it? they must have had enough practises with it. we should be thanking GOD the number of casualties didn't exceed what was reported. under no circumstance should that weapon be used within a city. |
Ikwokrikwo:that machine gun would take out every living thing in that building. the lady filming did it out of ignorance. if the robbers had known someone was filming, they would have shot in her direction. you just can't engage daredevil robbers specially when they have the superior ammo. only a professional can handle that situation & his rifle must have an extension(silencer) |
penquin:masked ke? na amateurs dey mask. professional armed robbers don't need masks in nigeria. ![]() you need to see the gun one of them was holding. the belt was dangling like a rope. not even a truck full of MOPOL would engage these robbers. |
Ikwokrikwo:you are funny! these aren't amateurs - look at the confidence and the swagger at which they held down an entire strip of the city. they look para-military to me. they would certainly know where the bullet came from - these aren't cult boys. these ones have been to war before. |
Ikwokrikwo:you would take one out but if they manage to spot where the bullet came from, you would be taking a first class ticket to lucifer. the machine gun was belt-fed. it's the sort you would see in urban warfare - it can take out an entire village. apparently, jonathan's visit to lagos caused the shortage of police officers in that area. according to AIT, it's the first bank robbery in lagos in 7 years. metroid:deadlier robberies have happened in sane climes. it's got nothing to do with civilisation. actually, civilised societies are worse when it comes to this kinda incident. |
i never knew chelsea have so many haters. they are being skewered everywhere i look. dailymail has about 20 articles slaying chelsea already...... they said costa is a flop & a flat track bully. he scores freely against leicester, everton, etc but he played 7CL games without finding the back of the net. ![]() |
Mavor:ok..... AdeLaNa1:tactical defending is a pain for me too but what can one do? you just have to learn to keep it tight at the back. How'd u get to view my stats anyway?? Wont mind checking out some people's stats in this threadtrade secrets. ![]() |
the woman fainted, she didn't die.... the video was sick though - to think the neighbours just stood by and watched him plank her about 3 times was very disturbing. I couldn't make out the language they were speaking but my educated guess would be rwanda or congo. |
AdeLaNa1:76 - wins 81 - losses 35 - draws you would be very easy to beat: i can see you love hugging possession & your passing is very decent but you concede more goals than you score. |
nateevs:why is everyone blaming mourinho for what happened last night? at what point should world class players take responsibility for their own fück up? i was highly disappointed in terry last night. chelsea conceded a goal via corner....they managed to get their noses in the front again and the game was winding up. was it too much for terry to organise his defence & put midgets like azpi & cesc by the posts? chelsea had the numerical advantage so why did terry screw up a routine corner kick? thiago silva gave em the first warning & yet terry's organisation refused to do the needful. the players were at fault for what happened last night. there were enough attacking players on the pitch. costa, hazard, oscar, cesc & ramires are enough to give PSG a fright! |
wordcat:tufiakwu! my kids will not celebrate nonsense. look back to those days and see qualify acting. liz benson never needed to show her cleavage or the crack of her bütt to garner the respect - it was always about the quality of her acting. these days, forget it..... it's all about sėx & nüdity. in the days of liz benson & co....this new generation wouldn't even have a career. the whole industry has been tainted with vulgarity & indecency. it's very sad. |
crackhaus:this is a kodak moment.... crackhaus caught red-handed flirting with a feminazi. ![]() |
one of the best actors in nollywood! her diction is legendary unlike the new breed such as toto dikeh & ini edo(bush rats). our government should start honouring talents like pete edochie, liz benson, zack orji, etc..... |
Islie:the junior colleague is at fault - she bit the fingers that fed him. the wife was being generous which isn't necessarily a bad thing. the hubby is the victim of all these mess..... heaven knows what the junior colleague must have done to him to succumb. |
mikuz does not possess a rap voice! what a shame! even if we agree he's got the better material, his delivery is super-wäck! i think singing gospel is mikuź's best bet. ![]() MVGT - jreyez |
raumdeuter: Between 2005 and 2011 EPL was without doubt the best from then till now EPL is mediocre. Just because you did well years back doesnt mean you cant be crap nowhow can this be true when chelsea still killed teams in europe in 2012? |
