there was also another chance where his weight of the ball was too excessive for young to connect. he teed young beautifully but the pass was too much & young had to stretch to connect with the ball. mata would have applied the required weight of the ball in that circumstance.

I am sure all the set plays you listed were from the right side of the pitch. Rooney and Young should take from the left side while Di Maria and Mata from the right.

under no circumstance should rooney be taking any crossed set play for us. he's the best header of the ball in the club. if the players have decided to cross the set play(indirect freekick) then rooney should be in the box to help the ball into the net.

it's a waste of personnel to have the best header in the club taking corner kicks. mata cannot head the ball so why not let mata take the corner with rooney in the box hustling with defenders. all these differentials are the reasons we don't win games.

2 david beckham corners got us the victory against bayern munich. we have a specialist who has delivered on the big stage and yet we don't let him take corners. there was a time jones was even taking them for us - a team fighting for a champions league spot should be doing better.
