ok no more 16yrs misrule but 5yrs bcus the man who spent 8yrs out of d 16 whose tenure was d most corrupt in d history of dis country is now a hero to ur saint president. I wonder y pple cant see, my broda can u point out one single thing dat dis man has done apart from fighting corruption on d pages of news paper. Who has he convicted in dis whole fight against corruption? He inherited a very solid foundation in power sector and now we ar loosing it. 40 days is not enough to judge is all I hear. We ar watching.
mr Buhari inherited practically nothing, our 4000mw was just on paper. That was the same 4000mw he(mr Jonathan) claimed after his 100days in office in 2011,yet no improvement in the power supply. For close to two years, I did not enjoy a minute of power supply in my house between 6pm and 6am. Jonathan was the biggest mistake nigerians ever made, he was a fraud personified.

Good. Please when is Buhari going to vacate the presidential seat for lack of proper and adequate qualification. Thank God the illiteracy in him is already manifesting.
only if you can be one-tenth as educated and as qualified as PMB, your generation and the ones yet unborn would be proud of you.

just like your clueless, colourless, idiotic hero succeeded in taking us back to 1967, ruined the country and left sorrow tears and blood behind. In just 5 years, jonathan turned us to a nation with no respect for human lives with his cluelessness. Dont expect magic.

Nigerians voted 4 him bcus of d promises he made which he has not been able to fulfill 1/10th of it. No need to pity anybody if d seat is too hot he should then resign.
if your hero who destroyed the legacy our forefathers built over fifty years in just 5years did not resign, it will be hypocritical to expect a government that is barely 4 months old to perform magic. If jonathan and his cohort had shown one- tenth of the commitment General Buhari is showing now in tackling the menace of violent extremism, we would not have even been in this mess in the first place. Jonathan destroyed our common heritage and turned our land to a slaughterin ground for criminals.

I know you will masturbate over news like this. Shame on you. Even when it involves something as precious as lives, you never hide your tribal remarks. For those behind Pa chukwudi to disregard the president's effort, it is evident that the fight is a breakaway from what used to be obtainable in the past when the insurgents would confront and sack our military even from their own barracks.

The tactics of planting bombs is a ploy all over the world that will take more intelligence to curtail. The Americans in Iraq suffered more casualties mainly from road side bombs amidst their military capabilities. Not using that as an excuse, we are hopeful their cowardice activities will be checked.
I just weep for this country with these kinds of comments from those wounded lions whose paymaster destroyed a legacy built over years in just 5years, and they expect a miracle worker to come and clear their mess in 4 months. They feel so bittered that they dont even mind if lives are being lost everyday, they derive their joy in the fact that it's buhari's regime,so they dont care if problems that were allowed to fester by their clueless hero take innocent lives that cut accross all etnnic and religious devides. I will advise the security agencies to improve on their intelligence gathering and it should cover those wounded lions whose existence depended on Jonathan's continue stay in office and can do and undo to bring down the government.

But is Buhari suppose to fight corruption and bring the anticipated efficiency in the oil sector by making himself the minister of petroleum? This is how dictatorship starts, very soon he will seek to be the Senate President also.
We are in a democratic setting and shouldn't allow anything that is contrary to the tenets of democracy. Our democracy is young and as such must endure all forms of political and economic turbulences and disruptions. But more importantly, let's not encourage any form of authoritarianism.

You made a lot points, but they are discussions for another day as they are not apt to the current subject of discussion.
my argument was if really mr Buhari has the requisite knowledge and experience to serve in that capacity, and another thing is if he will not be going against the constitutiOnal provision by accupying the office. As for me he is as qualified to hold the office as any living nigerian, then let the court interprete the propriety or otherwise.
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Ministerial List: Live Updates by coolbis: 12:49pm On Oct 06, 2015
Lordave:
I didn't say it's constitutional the petroleum minister comes from the Niger Delta.

And for all those achievements you're listing, they were under military rule. Nigeria was a young nation and had just few international trade relations. The petroleum ministry then is not as big, sophisticated, complicated, delicate and remunerative as it is nowm

Buhari cannot head the petroleum ministry.
then you point out one great achievement we have recorded under the civilian rule with our petroleum sector. The fact that those achievements were under the military says a lot about our political class and its recklessness. Those nations who started the same time we discovered oil have juduciously used the proceeds of the black gold to better the lives of an average citizen in their countries, so what is your point about sophistication. As a matter of fact, if there is anytime we should have done well with our pet resources, it was the past ten years when the nation witnessesd the highest oil boom ever. Our currency should be stronger, our reserve should be marvelous and we should have been self sufficient in our downstreem. So do you need a Deiziani to tell you that the major problem with the industry is corruption and inefficiency?
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Ministerial List: Live Updates by coolbis: 12:14pm On Oct 06, 2015
Lordave:
Buhari can't be petroleum minister without been screened.
The Constitution stipulates that every ministerial nominee or every minister before assuming office must go through proper scrutiny and meticulous screening to ascertain if the nominee is indeed competent, fit and apt to oversee the administration of his assigned ministry.

Buhari, does not have what it takes to be a minister, he lacks proper formal education to head a ministry like Petroleum. He has no genuine university degree and is bereft of the most common knowledge of how a ministry like Petroleum functions. He's not above the law, whether elected by 100% population of Nigeria or not, we cannot skip the constitution, after all, our Lord Jesus Christ wasn't a sinner but he got baptised.

A Minister of Petroleum by merit, favour and all criteria considered should come from the Niger Delta and not a Farmer from the North of Nigeria.
you tell me exactly what section of the constitution stipulates that only a dude from the niger delta can be a petroleum minister, afterall the best ever petroleum minister, Dr Rilwan lukman is from the north. Also what better qualification does any1 need to have to be a pet minister than the 1s mr president has. He was a petroleum minister under whose watch 2 refineries were designed, built and completed -n 3 years. So tell me what experience and qualification does he need to possess. He had overseen petroleum ministry @ the highest level, combined with his impeccable integrity, he is the best for the job. Just need the constitutional interpretation to be sure of the propriety of a sitting president being a serving minister

Whats negative to you might be positive to me. Jonathan losing his bid to be reelected was a negative news to me and I'm sure you danced and you were happy too?. I will say it again. I passionate88 am happy that the bomb has returned to Abuja , let the president acknowledged the fact that there is no straight and simple way to tackle the insurgencies as he made us to believe. I remember when he was asked to give the administration of Jonathan ideas on how to stop the insurgents but he didn't . You ended with what goes around comes around. well I'll have to agree with you on that, apc used the insurgencies to their advantage now that they have what they wanted, they can't deal with it. I'll use the bombings and senseless killings to my advantage too. KARMA IS REALLY A BITCH.
we are talking about innocent lives being lost everyday, and your own concern is apc-pdp,buhari-jonathan problem. Lives that are being lost are not that of hausa and northenerns alone, people from southern extraction have also been affected, lives lost, property destroyed. And the best condolens to these victims is to spit on their graves and dance @ hearing the news of their death, your reason being Jonathan lost. This is the worst man's inhumanity to human race.

@ op, I keep asking all of you this particular question, DID YOU KNOW ALL THESE THINGS WHEN GOODLUCK JONATHAN WAS STILL THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA OR YOU JUST BECAME WISE ALL OF A SUDDEN ?

I promise to keep laughing whenever bomb goes off in the northern part of Nigeria and Abuja, they used security and boko haram activities as a strong point on why they should be voted into power. A presidential candidate threatened a whole nation, even had the guts to call her citizens "dogs and babbons" , and people were hailing him as the 'messiah' . A 'messiah' that said Abacha never stole Nigeria's money. Now he's in power and bombs are exploding more frequently than knockouts during Christmas period and some idiots finally realised that the government can't do it all alone.

I passionate88 predict more bombings to come. I won't deactivate my account. Not now. Since the Daura Secret Service is now into kidnapping of perceived political opponents, I'll be on the lookout.

passionate88 signing off.
its good to keep laughing when innocent people die in their tens for sins they never commited. Much as you have right to your opinion, always remember that adversities are not the birthright of any tribal or ethnic group. You are alive and healthy and can afford to dance and make merry @ hearing negative news about people, just because of your premordial sentiment, forgeting that you are also a mortal. If for any reason whatsoever you support this carnage then you are far worse than the insurgents themselves. Remember nobody is insulated from the effect of violent extremism and othe forms of criminalities either its taking place in the north or south. Victims of extremism cuts across tribal and religious divides. Bombs dont discriminate,so be mindful of what you wish people because what goes around comes around.

its quite unfortunate that God in His infinite power created a being like you who rejoice @ hearing the death of a human creature like you. We earned so much from oil sale within this period yet our external reserve has depleted by 55% while the both external and internal debt increased by 35%, then you ask where did the money disappear to. The neighbours who live at the back of our house disturb alot, most especially at night, and our window is right before the fence directly were they have thier chior. I called it chior because i dont hear them pray but sing at the top of thier voices and clap so loud.

It's been going on for a while now but it seems other families in the house have joined the group, even when the weather is hot they leave me with no choice than to close the window, but thank God for the weather these days. Closing of the window doesnt stop the noise from coming in, but it reduces it. They do this morning, afternoon and always Worse at night, even my baby finds it hard to sleep sometimes, especially when she had fever.

It went from bad to worse last night when it was louder and longer, i couldnt hav a proper sleep untill 1:30am, not even my baby couldnt, i had headache all through. That was when i made up my mind that something has to be done.

I dont have a problem with what they do but they shld make their voices lower at night, thats all. Advice please.
