Did he just say Igbos can try secession again if they want? What sort of leaders do we have in this country?
I'm not Igbo but statements like this are better off not made. There's a lot of tension in this country right now and it would've bn better if he didn't reply at all than this

I've said it before that if I were a leader, If rather consult my worst critics on certain issues than surround myself with those that always sing my praise no matter what I do. Buhari has made some moves that are clearly wrong by all standards but these sycophants don't seem to see any.

And history will keep repeating itself.smh
Same sycophants that ruined Jonathan's government have defected to APC today

I've tried to stay away from commenting on politics section but I don't think it's right not to lend my small voice to very sensitive issues

If you love this administration, just tell Buhari the truth even when it hurts. If we don't, then you've collectively set him up to fail.
on what moral ground will you accuse Dr Jinaid of being sensitive to the stability of the country when you are aware that he only responded to more provoking statement From Ohaneze Ndigbo, the most vibrant igbo social-cultural group. Dr Junaid is an individul who is entitled to his personal opinion, and if you this statement into public opinion, I can bet you a large chunk of respondents will go with Dr Junaid submission. Mr Buhari has conducted himself in the best possible way since his assumption of office and the electorate who voted for him are happy they didnt make the wrong choice. 2019 is just arround the corner, if you dont like his old face, wait till then.

On what ground has Dr Jinaid gone wrong when you listen to people of igbo extraction threaten secesion every now and then as if the survival of the country depends solely on them. They continue to throw it into our face at every opportuniity that they dont want to be part of the naTion called naija, meanwhile they are 1 oF the greatest beneficiaries of project nigeria. Dr Jinaid might have gone a bit above board, but trust me there are millions of nigerians who are not even of northern extraction who feel the same way mr Junaid feels. PMB so far has done creditably well in his conduct and we who voted for him have no regret that we took that bold step.

And history will keep repeating itself.smh

Shameless liar! Do you live in the southeast? I've lived in the southeast for almost 2 decades. Fuel sold for govt approved price in the whole of southeast all thru the last regime, except during rare period of general scarcity. In fact, at a certain point, we bought fuel #1 less than govt approved price.

God punish all liars
i did my youth service in southeast, precisely in abakaliki about 12years ago and I can tell u for free that @ no point has fuel been sold @ official in that part of the country, its an established fact. I blv every reasonable human being knows this fact, and let God really punish the liar.

fine your 'bubu' will beg them for amnesty again, but trust me thousands of lives(innocents) of niger deltan extraction would have been lost. You can imagine if all nigerians living in the united states were given access to that leSs than 500 capacity hall, what could have happened in terms of crowd control. One thing PMB has going for him is the support of majority of nigerians who believe that this is about the last chance we have to correct the wrongs in the past. We believe in PMB, we will continue to pray for him cos his failure would mean nigeria cannot work again. the prices of crude oill between 2006 and 2012 hovered around 100 to 140dpb and the govt budget for subsidy up untill 2010 did not exceed #300b per year, then what was responsinble for the sharp increase in the subsidy between 2010 2012 to the tune of #1.3trl even in the face of falling oil price.

of course the OP's comment had been responded to. Check out the history of oil prices between 2006 and 2015, you will realise that the best period of wind fall was between 2007 and 2010 when the prices hovered around a 100 and 140dpb, and the government budget for subsidy within this periond in review was not more than #300b for s
PoliticsRe: Petrol Subsidy Hits N1.69bn Daily by coolbis: 12:54pm On Jul 20, 2015
tete7000:
One thing you don't seem to see is that subsidy itself is a function of the crude price. Whatever you have is at a time t. It can change from time t to time t+1, depending on whether there is increase or decrease in the price of crude. If you remember there was actually a time it was reduced from N97 to N87 because crude price crashed in the international market and we were no longer incurring subsidy at that time. The role APC played in ensuring the reduction and appropriateness or inappropriateness of that reduction in a regulated market is actually an argument for another day.
Back to my argument, if there is direct variation between price of crude and the price of pms, don't you think that should the price hits like $120 per barrel of crude that even this govt can incur over N1tr on subsidy as we will be paying double of what we are paying now as subsidy? The cost of subsidy we have now is just at like crude price averaging $60 or even less per barrel. This will change depending on the dynamics of the crude market. On that note until this govt finds itself in that shoe we really might be unable to judge whether GEJ was totally wrong with that figure around the time when crude was selling at over $100 per barrel.
It is this same issue that makes it difficult to precisely and accurately capture subsidy in the budget as the cost will always fluctuate depending on what happens in the international crude market.
i must say I really apppreciate your maturity in dealing with issues devoid of insults and lies as its generally witness on most of our social media these days. However there is no way a liter of pms will be sold for double the present price if we actually follow the simple law of demand and supply. The business of oil and gas is largely dependent on international politics , which simply means a possible lift of sanctions imposed on iran about 4 years ago will increase the supply of oil in the global market, couple with the general resolve of most world power that are doing everything possible to reduce the use of hydrcarbon derivates as source of power due to global warming. The demand may not witness any appreciable increase, and in the face of excess supply, the prices may not increase. However our grouse against the govt of Dr GEJ was that, @ the time the crude was being sold for over a $100, we expected that part of the money realised would have been used to fix our refineries which have capacity to supply over 60percent of our daily consumption. That would have reduced the level of imports and negate the back interest and forex differentials. The oil swap always would have been a very good strategy of subsidy.
