In this thread, I noticed that the Igbos believe great injustice has been done to them as regards 'their' oil fields in the post civil war era. This might be true, or not. But if this is true, I think it will be because the Nigerian government is being cautious that there might be another rebellion and they quickly made some adjustments. And now, there's another rebellion for secession. As much as I want a tribe to be free and self-determined, I will advice my Igbo friends to do this non-violently, ask for a referendum, I'm sure most Igbos will vote 'Yes' and you'll win this way. Because, if the violent way fails, I believe more woes will come to the igbos from the Nigerian Government. All what you are complaining about now will be minute to what they will likely do to you. In war, you should consider scenerios your successes and defeats. Just an advice from a friend. |
Seriously, this shouldn't even be a topic for debate. It's simple, there's a law, you know the law and the consequences for breaking the law. There are two things going through the mind of anyone who wants to break a law. 1. I can get away with it. 2. I can bear the consequences. It's not rocket science. Why do we have to drink medicine for another person's headache? |
Inspectahdeck:. 'SIR', I asked an innocent question just for a marketing research and u think the best thing is to insult me? Well, if u wish to know, I bought my SIM at a more expensive price than yours and I sure do know a lot about network service providers. My earlier response shows I want them to pay d fine. I just don't understand how Nigerians react to seemingly unharmful questions and situations just because we have something to proof. More reason I don't comment on such platforms. Sorry if I offended you. |
MrMcJay:Hehehe.... For clarification sake, so that the Y'hello Chaps won't take our 5B USD to a wrong brewery, ours is Nigerian Breweries PLC, makers of the best and finest brands in Nigeria....I guess Heineken, Star, Gulder, Legend, Star Radler, Climax etc need no introduction...........some PR, shey? Na so. |
MrMcJay:Coincidentally, I work in a Brewery, so I'll be the one to dash you beer.....lol...'WE LOVE BEER' |
teeboila:Please, I want to ask, U don't like MTN cos u bought ur SIM for 10K or because they've been ripping 'you' off or the two? |
I don't usually do this, but I'm forced to comment today. Nigeria won't develop until we start enforcing laws, not just on individuals, but also on organizations. I don't see this from the perspective of 'it's payback time from MTN', but from a view of let the laws of the land be enforced. You can't say u're breaking laws that were made for Nigerians just to help Nigerians. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Do you know how much BP paid for the Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico? And that's because an individual, a staff, warned BP. In this case, a whole country warned MTN, yet, they refused to abide by it. Can MTN do this in a developed country and go away with it? If this goes unpunished, why won't another firm do the same, it's going to be a precedence to throw our laws and regulations on our face. If you let this go, the world will ridicule the strength of our laws. I will laugh at this country, even you should laugh at this country, cos it will be a joke. Let the law take its course. |
Let Igbos go, Let Yorubas go, Let Hausas go, Let Ijaws go. Let everybody go, but do not let any group lay claim on another. Do not let Igbos lay claim on Niger Delta cos that's similar to what the Igbos are fighting against now; saying Nigeria is forcing them. They should not force the Niger Deltans also. |
