How to discuss an issue in Nigeria 1st Speaker: I will use all my power and connections to provide good services to people. 2nd Speaker: You are an id1ot. Which connections? Which power. You are very stup1d. Goat! 3rd Speaker: The Ist speaker is bought by those in power. He is a stooge of those with connections. 4th Speaker: The second speaker is an id1ot. Why should he insult the 1st Speaker? . . .And fight breaks out between the supporters of 2nd and 4th Speakers. Then a free for all fight. |

Most parents know that disciplining kids is no easy task. And it doesn't get any easier when your kids are adorable, too adorable to scold. In a new viral video, a father discovers his two sons covered in paint. Dad starts to reprimand the tikes in the usual manner saying, "Who's idea was this? Did you think this was a good idea?" Then the wheels come off, and dad can't keep a straight face and breaks out in laughter. One of the boys appropriately asks, "What is funny?" Dad can't keep it together, especially after the boys ask if they have paint in their hair. The video was uploaded to YouTube on Monday, where it has been viewed more than 3.5 million times so far! Hey dad, at least they are already in the shower for easy cleaning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVDNNoEk4PI

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A worker fell screaming 11 stories from the roof of a bank building Friday morning onto a moving car, crushing its roof and sending shattered glass flying into the street, police and witnesses said The man suffered critical injuries, but he was conscious, and the driver was not injured, police said. Witnesses described seeing a blue streak and the man's shadow as he fell and then hearing shattering glass as he hit the car and then rolled onto the ground. The roof of the car, a green Toyota Camry, was smashed in, and the rear windshield shattered. Bianca Bahman, who was on the corner where the man fell, said she looked up to see his shadow and ran for cover. "As he was coming down, he was definitely screaming," Bahman, 31, a pre-medical student at San Francisco State University who was on her way to the gym, said. "It all happened so quickly. It was so instantaneous." The man, identified by police only as window washer, was moving equipment on the roof of a bank building in the heart of San Francisco's financial district and not on a window-washing platform when he fell, San Francisco police Sgt. Danielle Newman said. The platform was on the ground at the side of the building, and cables were hanging from its sides. It was not clear whether the man was setting the platform up, but he was working with a partner, police said. "I heard the loud thud and the shattering of the back of the car," he said. "At that point, I realized it was a body." He and about 20 other people ran to the man, who was on his back. The man was lucid, though he was bleeding. "He understood we were with him," Hartwell said. The bystanders, who included a nurse, put clothing on the man as they waited for the ambulance. View galleryPolice and citizens look over a car that has a caved … Police and citizens look over a car that has a caved in roof after a window washer fell at least 11 … Hartwell said of his reaction, "It was utter, immediate shock. How do you react to something like that?" Dozens of people gathered around police tape after the accident, as officials cleaned up blood, glass and a shoe that were lying in the intersection. The driver of the Camry did not want to comment, Newman said. The man worked for Concord, California-based Century Window Cleaning, said Peter Melton, a spokesman for the California state division of occupational safety and health. The company was cited for one serious violation and three other violations in 2008, one of them related to instructing window-cleaning employees in the proper use of all equipment provided to them, and supervising the use of the equipment and safety devices to insure that safe working practices are observed, according to federal records. The company was fined more than $6,500, though the fine was eventually reduced to a little more than $2,700. A call to the company was not immediately returned. Recent incidents involving window washers show the dangers of the job. Last week, the collapse of a World Trade Center scaffold left two window washers dangling from the nation's tallest skyscraper. The workers were trapped 68 stories above the street when a cable suddenly developed slack on Nov. 12. The workers held on to the teetering platform for two agonizing hours. One called his wife during the ordeal, fearful that it might be his last opportunity to speak to her. Firefighters used diamond cutters to saw through a double-layered window and pulled the men to safety. They were not injured. Last month in Irvine, California, two window washers stuck for hours near the top of a 19-story high-rise were pulled to safety by members of a search-and-rescue team. It was unclear how the workers became stuck on the side of the office building near the San Diego Freeway. Neither worker was injured, authorities said. Also last month in downtown Oakland, California, two window washers were stranded outside the 19th floor of a high-rise for nearly two hours before employees inside realized they were in trouble and called for help. They also were not injured. http://news.yahoo.com/window-washer-survives-11-story-fall-california-195846062.html

cocoduck:You should know that not all Udala tree is 100yrs old. there is one in my father's compound and my little cousins conveniently climb it, even the very old trees has outgrowths, deep scars and other materials that makes climbing it easy, the only reason my cousins don't climb the one at the farmland area is because of those yellowish ants that stings. before u dismiss someone's contributions as a lie ask some questions first. u sound uncut. |
swagwu:in my place children climb the tree and pluck it! imagine, when I was young nobody dare climb Udala or Ukwa tree, this days na freestyle something. |
I enjoyed the yam search so much, I always look forward to it anytime I went to the village. |
Agunze Azuka Onwuka wrote: Growing up in my hometown Nnewi, we had a custom similar to a passage read in the Bible in church today: Deut 24:19 - "When you reap your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to get it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. (King James 2000 Bible). In our case the practice was limited to yam, the king of crops. After harvest, any yam tuber missed out belonged to whoever found it. After the first rain, forgotten or broken yam tubers in the soil began to sprout. We little boys (or any adult who cared) would visit farms with machetes and sacks searching with eagle eyes for yam tendrils emerging from the soil. Whoever saw a yam tendril first would point at it and shout: "Kpata m ji!" That confered ownership to him. He would bend down and dig up the yam with joy and pride. If the owner of the farm passed by at that time, he would not say anything to the boys. His son could even be among the searchers. The best he could do was to be more careful next harvest. But it was impossible not to miss out some yam tubers during harvest. It gave boys great joy to find and own these yam tubers. I kept mine in my father's barn, well tied artistically to poles. I did not allow anybody to eat any of them. During the planting season, my dad allowed me to plant my yam tubers in a part of his farm, and I paid a special attention to those yam tubers. A similar custom was that concerning the udara. It was a taboo to climb an udara tree or pluck its ripe fruits (even by the owner). The ripe fruits must be allowed to fall by themselves, and whoever picked them owned them. As early as 4am, people would take lamps and torches and visit udara trees known to produce sweet fruits. Early birds would go home with basket or basin filled with udara. These were customs our forefathers put in place to ensure that the poorest or orphans had something to eat, even if they were surrounded by stingy kinsmen. Our forefathers were wise! |
newacca:One of the risks associated with with our kind of business is high employee turnover, to mitigate this risk employees are placed on a merger BASIC salary while they earn by commission, this will make them relaxed and patient when the business suffers teething problems, first three-four months. that was how I reasoned and that was what I told youwin, hope this helps |
The tribe I come from, you cannot have sexual relationship with your cousin let alone marry her, its a sin against Ana/Ani (soil), even your relations, so long as there is someone alive that knows and can explain the blood ties between you and a very distant relation, sexual relationship and marriage is forbidden |
and he declares!!!!! long live Nigeria, long live Jonathan!!! I challenge any Nigerian politician to replicate what President Jonathan did! more than 30mins articulated speech without reading it off some paper. |
I love my president! Your views no matter how freely expressed cannot send you to prison or exile under my watch. Long live Jonathan! |
they put their lives at fire front for us to have peace, yet some people will come here and incite violence with their tongues, people that can't kill a fly. |
Even those that don't know this man is shouting fraud, listen to his recent cds he is a full supporter of the GEJ administration, you want him to support the people that succeeded in almost eliminating the Catholic church up North? Why I hate APC so much? They are filled with propaganda and evil vendetta, once you are not with them you become the witch. Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka is a man whose words holds a lot of water east of Nigeria and for him to say this, APC should forget south east totally. Learn from Chimaroke and Ohakim, don't insult / disrespect God's institution for politics sake. |
