Hi, guys. Y'all doing all right? Quick one! So I was inspired to start a blog recently (I'm really excited about that). No, it's not the usual gist, gossip, entertainment news blog, felt we have enough of those (actually, I think we have more than enough of those). It's a blog with a difference, that seeks to challenge, instruct and, ultimately, transform (especially) young people and the whole family to become better, stronger, wiser with God-inspired pieces. Want to be any of these, dive right in and let's ride together! The articles are informed, heartfelt and Scripture inspired! The thoughts are things I have gleaned both from experiences and from my walk with God in my few (yes, few. I never old like that) years on earth! I sincerely feel we can all become better, stronger and wiser, no matter where you're if we listen more to what God has to tell us! It's a blog for you, it's a blog for everyone! It's @ www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com Oh, and do share your thoughts and let me what ya think in the comments section! I'll respond, deal? Thank you.

Dainty09:Totally, sis. It was truly life transforming. What are some of the things you took home from the conference? |
ifenes:You are wrong there. God is very real. I don't know what God you thought I was referring to, but I'm talking about the sole creator of the world. |
-What happened, when and how at WODC2016 What a few days it turned out to be! Daystar Women of Destiny Conference 2016 (WODC2016) surpassed its billing; which is what happens when you surrender leadership and control to the Holy Spirit! This year's edition of the three-day annual women-focused conference, themed 'The 21st Century Mother', held on Friday, April 22 and culminated Sunday, April 24 at Daystar Christian Center, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos; with women of all ages in attendance. Many came from far and near and found purpose and meaning; others caught new vision; some re-aligned their lives with God; while many more gained invaluable insight of God's principles as His word was taught with power by the speakers. Highlights Day 1, April 22 The opening day saw Pastor Margaret Sowemimo minister powerfully in a message entitled: "You were born for such a time as this", and subtitled, "You are fearfully and wonderfully made", anchored on Psalm 139:13-18 and Isaiah 55:6-11. She rounded off her session with a period of spirit- inspired prophetic ministration - it was glorious and life changing! Music minister, Omenesa (@OmenesaPearls) gave a truly moving ministration as she worshipped in songs and shared her true story - a story of God's saving grace. She narrated: - how she once attempted suicide following a bout of depression - how she almost filed for divorce from her husband at some point - how she underwent several surgeries to fix her Scoliosis (an S-shaped spinal cord) - how she currently goes around with a metallic object affixed to her back and more. Her story teaches that our past, with all its ugliness and imperfections, is no hinderance to the fulfilment of God's thoughts and plans for us; rather they are a springboard to the greatness He wants to birth in and through us! Day 2, April 23 The second day was a fully- packed day as Pastors Nike Adeyemi, Ibukun Awosika and Abimbola Davids ministered. Their messages were powerful and instructive, as they were practical and applicable. They each shared God's Word laced with real life experiences of being mothers - they have 9 children among them, three each! Pastor Ibukun (@IbukunAwosika) opened as she poured her heart out and spoke passionately on the 21st Century mother... Without love, we are nothing! Without love, we'd just be a bunch self-centred 'mind your business' folks! Without love, we'd repeatedly hurt one another with reckless abandon! Without love, we can't trust one another! Without love, I'll watch my back only, not yours! Without love, I won't alert you when I see danger heading your way! Without love, I'll care for myself only! Without love, we won't know mercy and forgiveness! Without love, I'd be angry at your success and wish you evil! Without love, there'll be no unity! Without love, there'll be no peace! Without love, there'll be no real progress! I could go on and on and on... Without love, we'll at best be clanging cymbals and empty barrels making noise but lacking substance! But with love, in its pure and unadulterated form, we become embodiment of Christ; spreading happiness, peace, joy and life to others. Choose love. Choose God. God is love. In Him you find true love and build the capacity to love truly! For indeed, we are nothing without love in our hearts! --- Find more inspired thoughts @ www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com |

ifenes:I mean "alien" in terms of it not being our natural response to hurt, it's not second nature to us. We have to be deliberate and "mature" as you rightly mentioned to attain it. Above all, you can truly and easily forgive when you understand you've forgiven of all wrongs by God. |
itstpia8:I agree forgiveness may come to some persons more naturally than others, but I don't think we can conclude that forgiving is specific to genetics. Forgiveness can be learned and cultivated. And is a product of maturity. |

rexben:What gibberish are you spewing for crying out loud! You can't agree with the gospels and disagree with the epistles! The Bible says "ALL scripture is given by the inspiration of God.." not "the gospels is only given by the inspiration of God"! I will advise you stop leading people to their damnation with your warped thought. And take back that statement of Paul being a false apostle. You have God to answer to. |

Hi, e-family and friends, y'all doing all right? Read this piece and thought it's apt I share. The point of the whole piece? Here, "Despite how clever or even edifying a quote may be, if it isn't in the Bible, we have no guarantee that it is the Word of God." Read on and yes it's long piece... ----- "What are the most common things people think are in the Bible that are not actually in the Bible?" In Psalm 119:16, David promises God, "I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word." In Deuteronomy 11:18-19, God exhorts the Israelites, "You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up." As believers, we know we are to study the Bible, memorize it, and obey it. But does the Bible say what we think it says? The truth is, there are several phrases that sound like they come from the Bible, but do not. "God helps those who help themselves." The earliest recording of this saying is actually from Aesop's fable "Hercules and the Waggoner." A man's wagon got stuck in a muddy road, and he prayed for Hercules to help. Hercules appeared and said, "Get up and put your shoulder to the wheel." The moral given was "The gods help them that help themselves." Aesop was a Greek writer who lived from 620 to 564 BC, but obviously did not contribute to the Bible. As a biblical truism, the proverb has mixed results. We can do nothing to help when it comes to salvation; salvation is through Christ alone. In the work of sanctification— becoming more spiritually mature—we are to join in the work. 1 Peter 1:14-15 says, "As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior." " Cleanliness is next to godliness." Despite the strict rules given to the Israelites about uncleanness as a metaphor for sinfulness and ceremonial washing required by the priests (see: Exodus, Leviticus), this phrase is not in the Bible. It originated as an ancient Babylonian and Hebrew proverb, but became very popular during the Victorian era after being revived by Sir Francis Bacon and John Wesley. Is the proverb true beyond the metaphor? A new study shows that people are generally fairer and more generous when in a clean-smelling environment. But Jesus also exhorts us to worry more about the sin in our hearts than the dirt on our hands ( Matthew 7:18-23). "In the last days, you will not be able to know the seasons except by the changing of the leaves." Even a thorough Google search will not reveal the origin of this saying, but it is not found in the Bible. Matthew 24:32-33 uses the budding of leaves heralding the coming of summer as a metaphor for the signs that Christ will return. But nowhere does the Bible mention that seasons will be so altered that only the changing leaves will identify them. "It is better to cast your seed in the belly of a LovePeddler than to spill it out on the ground." This verse is usually used to justify fornication or adultery over masturbation. It is one more misinterpretation of the story of Onan in Genesis 38:6-10. Onan's brother died, and Onan had the responsibility of marrying his brother's wife to provide an heir. Instead, Onan "wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother." This passage isn't even about masturbation; God struck Onan down because he selfishly refused to provide an heir for his brother's inheritance. In addition, the proverb is inaccurate. In no way would the Bible encourage the use of anyone other than a spouse for sexual gratification. Instead, we are called to not allow physical appetites to control us ( 1 Corinthians 6:12-20). "Hate the sin, love the sinner." Although this is a biblical-sounding admonition, it is not directly from the Bible. It’s actually a loose quote of something Mahatma Gandhi wrote in 1929, “Hate the sin and not the sinner.” Augustine expressed a similar thought back in AD 424: “With love for mankind and hatred of sins.” The biblical principle backing this up is found in Jude 1:22– 23. We are to hate sin—even our own. And we are to show love to other people. The “hating sin” part is coming under fire today as more and more people define themselves by their sin and resent the guidelines God has given us in His Word. "Money is the root of all evil." This is a common misconception with an easy fix. 1 Timothy 6:10 actually says, "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil…" Money is not good or bad, and being wealthy is not a sin; Job was wealthy and described as a man who was "blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil" ( Job 1:1). Loving money, which in the Greek is "avarice" and implies an emotional affection, is the root of all sorts of evil as the desire to accumulate wealth is placed above God and others. " This too shall pass." This is actually a misinterpretation of a line from "The Lament of Doer," an Old English poem. Doer has been replaced as his lord's poet, and calls to mind several other Germanic mythological figures who went through troubled times. Each refrain ends with, "that passed away, so may this." Several verses in the Bible remind us that our lives and, indeed, heaven and earth will pass away (Matthew 24:35). But while we can find comfort knowing that our earthly sorrows are temporary, we're still called to rejoice in our trials, knowing that they will lead to endurance and sanctification ( James 1:2-4). "The lion shall lay down with the lamb." Although Jesus is both the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God ( Revelation 5), this phrase does not appear in the Bible. Isaiah 11:6 says, "And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy will lead them." Similarly, Isaiah 65:25 reads, "The wolf and the lamb will graze together and the lion will eat straw like an ox…" The sentiment reads true, however—hunter and prey will be reconciled and live in peace in the eternal kingdom. God left us the Bible as a written testimony of His Word. His truth is found in the Bible. Some sayings are simple rewordings of biblical truth, but others are dangerous heresy. Despite how clever or even edifying a quote may be, if it isn't in the Bible, we have no guarantee that it is the Word of God. And the only way we'll know is if we read the Bible. ---- Culled from gotquestions.org --- Find more inspired thoughts and content on www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com |

March 21, 2016 marked 10 years since social networking site, Twitter was born. The first tweet (that's what updates on Twitter are called) was sent by co-founder Jack Dorsey on March 21, 2006, it read: "just setting up my twttr" - Jack (@jack). From that single tweet, Twitter has grown to become a big part of our daily lives. The micro-blogging site has in that time redefined the way we communicate. Now, we are made to fit our thoughts - no matter how deep - into just 140 characters (not words) or less. Now, we use #hashtags, mentions, favourites and all such terms. All these were alien to us before Twitter. So, what can the Christian do in the midst of these? How should we approach this powerful tool that reaches millions of people each day, with over 300 million users? Twitter, like many of man's inventions, is a neutral tool that can be manipulated; at the end of the day, it takes the form of the user; this is where we come in as Christians. I say we EMBRACE it. We EXPLOIT it for God's Kingdom. Let's be more vocal! Be more active! More creative! Use #hashtags to drive home our point - that Jesus remains the SOLE route to God and eternal life! If Jesus were here physically today, I strongly believe He'd use Twitter to proclaim God's word and not avoid it. So go on ahead; be fruitful, multiply, fill the social media space and subdue it; have dominion over every #hashtag. Make Jesus the trending topic. Make God's Word the most "favourited". Make the Holy Spirit get the most mentions. Embrace it. Exploit it. To God's glory. ---- Culled from www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com Kindly visit for more God-inspired thoughts and helpful resources. |

The biggest mistake you can make in your relationship is to build it on how you feel about him or her. Like I always say, feelings are like British weather, they're not reliable. How you feel about someone should not be the first thing you consider in a relationship. For me, the key questions range from: will this person help me become the man God designed me to be and draw me closer to Him? Will this person add real value to me both now and in the future? To can I add value to her and help her become the woman God created her to be? And if yes, how do I do that? These questions and more are what I would ask and answer before jumping into a relationship! Feelings or no feelings, I can have an amazing relationship! Because at the end of the day, love is not what I feel for or about her, it's a decision! ---- Find more thoughts @ www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com |
It's simple. We Africans claim to consider religion important, but do not imbibe its principles. In effect, religion is not problem but the people who only practice religion by mouth, but do not live it out. For the purpose of this piece, we'll consider Christianity a religion (but it's not!). What does Jesus Christ (the originator of the "religion" ) teach and stand for? Love, peace, kindness, gentleness, tolerance, humility, discipline, diligence, integrity, forgiveness, charity... we could go on and on; but I'm sure you get the point. Besides, America, Europe and the rest of the "developed" world, for me, is not even the benchmark for a proper society, they lack in many areas. There's still a lot of deprivation, greed, insanity, immorality, sadness, depression, corruption in these countries; so, for me, they are not the prototype for the perfect society! The perfect society? God's Soon Coming Kingdom! It's a kingdom where everyone is driven by genuine love for the next person; where my every action is born out of the desire to add real value to the other person's life; where I'll give my all and more - and you'll give your all and more - to ensure the next person (be it a stranger or a loved one) gets the best. That world is coming, pretty soon. There'll be no more deprivation, greed, immorality, insanity, pollution, hunger, famine, wars, senseless and inexplicable killings, corruption - there'll be none of these in that kingdom! My point? Religion - especially as Africans "practice" it with their mouths and not their hearts - will not only keep in this current mess, but will make things far worse! What I think? Embrace God, believe in the sacrifice of His son Jesus, imbibe His principles - because at the very core of man's failings is our disobedience to God (sin). ---- Find more God-inspired thoughts @ www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com |

Jayceo:Hi, a piece of advice for you. Before you talk ill of people (God's servants inclusive), please get your facts right! Also, you have no idea of the assignment God gave them. They are not accountable to you, but to God. Again, you say you don't see ANY impact these men have on the development of the country, but you fail to realise that God's Word (which they teach) is the most valuable resource on earth, and can be converted to its material (that's physical) equivalent! Please sister (or brother; can't tell from the name), don't join those who jumped at conclusions and criticise others (again, God's servants inclusive) without facts. Rexology:You don't think Christ understood that, yet He said if you do good to the least of you, you do it to me. He went on to specifically mention feeding the hungry... I want to believe you're familiar with the scripture I'm referring to. Besides, you do realise that our world is broken and flawed, meaning that there'll always be poor people regardless of anything anybody does. Bottom line, we'd still need to give people fish. Trying times are, indeed, hard to navigate, even for a word-filled spiritually-minded person. After all, we're still flesh, blood and flawed. It is important then that we know where to turn, whom to consult and whose word to hold fast to at those times when it seems the gates of problems have been flung wide open! Those times when you just can't understand why it seems you have a heap of pressing issues all at once! Those times when it seems the noise is reaching its loudest! Those times when worry and anxiety have gripped you! Those times when we're overcome by fear! We can find the strength and faith to hold on and press on in God's word! Remember and reflect on these when it seems all hell is let loose... - Remember and reflect on past victories! God has surely been faithful to you in the past and has won a number of battles - both great and small - for you. When David was to face the giant in 1 Samuel 17, he reeled out his past triumphs; how he "...went out after it [a lion that had captured one of his father's sheep] and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it." (v 34-37) No matter how hard it seems now, ..."forget not all His benefits..." (Psalm 103:2-5) - Remember and reflect that God will never allow all ways to be closed at the same time for you! Let that sink in! In Exodus 14, the Israelites seemed to reach a dead end; there was no way to their right or left, behind the Egyptian Pharaoh and his army were speeding towards them, and in front was a great body of water - they were trapped, or so it seemed! It seemed there was no hope, that all doors were closed at the same time, but never with God! He'll "...also make the way of escape..." (1 Corinthians 10:13) God will make a way...goes a popular song. - Remember and reflect on the fact that tomorrow will be brighter (Romans 8:18) No matter how dark or gloomy the night is, morning will surely come, and it comes with joy (Psalm 30:5) - Remember and reflect that all things work together for good "...to those who LOVE God, to those who are the called according to His PURPOSE." (Romans 8:28) - Remember and reflect on God's promises in His Word! God is not like we mortals, we could say things we don't really mean or make promises we can't keep. Has God said it? Then He'll surely do it! Or has He spoken it? Then He'll surely make good on the promise (Numbers 23:19) Not one jolt of God's promise will go unfulfilled! (Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 24:35) - Remember and reflect on who you are in Christ - embrace your true identity! Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33); we're not conquerors, we're MORE than that (Romans 8:37)! We're complete in Him (Colosians 2:10), joint heirs with Him (Romans 8:17), live, move and exist in Him (Acts 17:28), and God has "...raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus..." (Ephesians 2:6-7) - far above all principality and power! - Remember and reflect that you're going through your refining phase and you'll come out a priceless gem - "...perfect and complete, lacking nothing"! (James 1:2-4) - Remember and reflect that God never forsakes His own! He will never leave you, He'll never forsake you! He has promised He'll be with us ..."even to the end of age". (Matthew 28:20; Hebrew 13:5) - Remember and reflect that your help comes from God, and not any individual (Psalm 121:1-8; 119:114). Fix your gaze on Him. Like the man by the Gate Beautiful in Acts 3, fix your eyes on the solution! Put your trust and confidence in God, and not in man (Psalm 118:8 ) - Remember and reflect that you are a value carrier and a value adder (like salt and light; Matthew 5:13-16) - you are an asset! That's why it seems the world is fighting you! In a football game, which player (or players) is the opposing team more likely to attack - the ones that pose a genuine threat to them or the ones that can do nothing with the ball? The devil knows what you carry and he wants to extinguish your light; just like he tried to do with Moses and Jesus in their infancy! But guess what! He failed woefully in each case; he'll fail also in your case if you hold onto God and not give up! - Remember and reflect that God loves you to bits! Never doubt that! Nothing can separate us from God's love (Romans 8:31-39) - Remember and reflect that God wants to give you a story that you'll use to inspire others (2 Corinthians 1:3-6) - Remember and reflect that God has amazing plans in store for you! The future He imagines for you is one of hope, bliss, goodness and peace - it's a bright future! (Jeremiah 29:11) - Remember and reflect that our ultimate hope - an eternity in God's blissful presence - cannot be cut short! (Christ in you, the hope of glory) P.S: This all sound great, but it comes with a caveat. All God's promises hold true and will unfailingly come to pass in your life, but only when you're in tune with Him! It's the path of the righteous that is guaranteed to shine brighter and brighter... ---- Culled from www.stillsmallvoiceblog..com Do visit for more God-inspired content. Thank you. |
