Abuja – Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina has said that every Nigerian is relevant, and will be accommodated, in the ongoing effort to reposition the country by President Muhammadu Buhari. Adesina, who is the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, stated this in Abuja on Thursday. The Special Adviser was addressing a coalition of Igbo progressive groups under the auspices of the Igbo People of Nigeria (IPON) at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. A statement by Mr Attah Esa, the Deputy Director, Information in the State House, quoted Adesina as saying that the development programmes embarked on by President Buhari would need the support of all parts of the country, and every Nigerian to succeed. “I will like to thank you for this solidarity rally. When you hold a rally like this, it is not for President Muhammadu Buhari alone, but also for the country. “As the Igbos will always say, we need one another to succeed. We need each other for our country to succeed, and we need to uphold the country for generations unborn,’’ he said. There was confusion as parents withdrew their children from schools over a rumour that soldiers were embarking on administration of vaccine against monkey pox in Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT. Our reporter, who visited the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Zuba, yesterday morning, observed as some parents attempted to force the school gate open in order to pick their children, but some teachers and policemen prevented them from gaining entrance into the school. A parent, Hausa Mukaila, who spoke with our reporter said she retrieved her two children from the school because of the information she received that some soldiers were vaccinating children across primary schools against monkey pox. “Actually, I heard people saying that some soldiers were going round to vaccinate children in schools over monkey pox disease which prompted me to join other parents to come and pick my children from the school, “ she said. She said she heard that the vaccines were poisonous and may endanger the lives of the children. The headmaster of the school, Mohammed Falalu Salihu, said when the pupils were on break at 10:00a.m., some parents started coming into the school with lies that soldiers were vaccinating children against monkey pox disease. “In fact, before I knew what was happening parents had gathered at the gate trying to come into the school and I quickly alerted the vigilantes and the police who came to contain the situation,“ he said. “We tried to make the parents who insisted on carrying their children to understand that it was just a rumuor and we even allowed them to see the children in classes, “ he said. City News also reports that a similar incident happened at Junior Secondary School (JSS) at Yimi village near Zuba, where some parents also besieged the school to pick up their children over the rumour of monkey pox vaccination. Some parents were seen standing in front of the school gate, as the school management also prevented them from gaining entrance. A part of the school’s fence was allegedly pulled down by some parents who attempted to forcefully gain entrance into the school to pick up their children, but police and vigilantes prevented them. A housewife, Zainab Yakubu, who spoke with our reporter in anger insisted that she must stay and pick her children back home. “I see no reason why my children that just recovered from illness will again be given injection to kill them for me. I will never allow that to happen. I will stay here until they released my children to me,” she said. The principal of the school, Ramatu Ibrahim, declined to speak with our reporter, saying she was not authorised to speak to the press. It was also gathered that LEA Primary School at Tungan Maje, also faced the same situation. When contacted, the Zuba Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Bashir Kontagora, who was seen at the JSS school gate with his men, declined speaking to our reporter. “What do you want me to say, you are here already and you have seen everything with your eyes,” he said. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/parents-withdraw-wards-from-schools-over-monkey-pox-rumour-at-zuba.html

If you like pray till eternity...Nigeria will remain on the brink and even dissolve if the sensible things are not done. Once the winner takes it all persist. Once the arrogance of a particular region that contributes nothing but takes the lion share of things persist. Once inequality and injustice persist. Once defective structure persist. Once mediocrity, favouritism and crude nepotism persist...Once a tribe is favoured above other tribes like the Fulani herdsmen, persist...Nigeria will always remain on the brink and even dissolve with time. Disenchantment against the good will medical assistance, from the military, is clear example. |
By Henry Umoru ABUJA CHRISTIAN lawmakers, yesterday, painted a glooming picture of Nigeria, saying it was on the brink of total collapse. They also lamented that the delivery of public values has ceased to be the essence of governance as Nigerians could barely access basic social necessities. According to them, these challenges have shaken the very foundation of faith of Nigerians in the leadership. Nigeria The lawmakers said Nigeria needed divine intervention from the Almighty God to save it from total collapse. The federal lawmakers, under the aegis of Christian Legislators’ Fellowship, have, therefore, set aside next Thursday, October 26, 2017, as a day of national prayers for divine intervention. Briefing journalists, yesterday, on the planned national prayer breakfast, chairman of the prayer warriors, Senator Barnabas Gemade (APC, Benue North East) said the prayer, with the theme “Reconciliation: God’s Power and the New Pathway to National Unity,“ aims at convening people of all faith, tribe and creed to appeal to God for righteousness and Godliness in leadership. Gemade said: “Since the past seven years, our political and socio-economic landscape has been characterized by threats, which have both regional and international implications. “To Nigerians, those years could have seen our dear country emerge stronger from the shocks and effects of the global economic crisis. We have, however, weathered these storms; we are still at present, a reflection of a country at the brink. “Recently, hate speech, divisive and secessionist quests raise their ugly heads, but we fortunately overcame. “The delivery of public values has ceased to be the essence of governance as our fellow countrymen can barely access basic social necessities. These challenges have shaken the very foundation of the Nigerian people’s faith in leadership.” He disclosed that the National Prayer Breakfast which started about eight years ago, took its cue from the American Prayer Breakfast put on ground by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953. He, however, added that President Muhammadu Buhari would serve as the special guest of honour at the prayer session, while the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will deliver the keynote address Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/nigeria-brink-total-collapse-christian-lawmakers/

At 57 years, all you get to hear are they following... 1. Blackout: Nigeria’s National Grid Collapses 2. October 1st Threat Notice Report In Your Area. 3. Northern Traders Suspend Business In South-east 4. Lagos :dont Rent House To An Igbo Man 5. Jos Stands Still As Igbo Close Shops. 6. I Won’t Allow Nigeria To Be Dismembered - Buhari 7. President daughter laments the condition of Aso rock clinic 8. Nigeria roads are in dire condition, Apapa Tin Can road is a mess, Enugu- Porharcourt road in mess, Enugu-Onitsha road in a mess, Mokwa- Ilorin road in a mess. 9. 10,000 Nigeria students enrol in US universities and colleges from 2015... Etc Etc...You can add yours Why can't we dissolve into smaller units and try to develop at our own pace without threatening people with war and see if there will be improvement? The North and SW who are the greatest beneficiary of one Nigeria can have a deal to still share from the proceeds of oil and gas sells, so they can agree for this to happen. Things have been tried since 57 years and we are not making any progress instead we are gong backwards at an alarming speed. Please use countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia...even Ghana, Botswana, Rwanda, Namibia...as point of reference. Thanks. The pic is the generating set bought by Lagos government for the police. This is happening at 57 years. You don't see this at 10. Are we not going backwards. At 100, we will be using native lantern...Think People!

DaBullIT:If it is not a priority why didn't your VP and chronically lying APC say so? |
(7) We will add 2000MW to our National grid by December 2016, Later they shifted it to August 2017. It is good to note that our Transmission network was pushing between 3200MW -4500MW as at July 12,2015 ,44days After Pmb became our President. We have not crossed this mark as At Oct 2017 Power Generation reached more than 7000 just a few weeks ago , you don't need to lie [/quote]..You didn't tell that most of the 7000MW was wasted as it couldn't be transmitted. Nigeria is a joke, building energy but didn't consider the transmission. |
Yyeske:You are so sick you didn't see my answers. Feed you 5.2 million people starving in the NE, that the UN and EU had to send funds, first. Then you can bring you tales by the moonlight...on SE. |
Yyeske:...You see you life?...tell how you have answered any of my questions... You are now clowning...Thieves, leeches..everywhere. You believe SE will die as all their goods must come from the north? Go back to VAT. You evil people destroy the products and still collect more from the VAT than even the region that consume alcohol. Wicked people and wicked country. |
Yyeske:You have no point. You are parasite, you gain more from my free VAT contribution to the poverty ravaged north than the SE to your goods. Like I said earlier, why not send your goods to the starving 5.2 million in NE? Also why are you so wicked in collecting VAT, yet you destroy the products sold by these companies? |
ProWalker:Always changing the goal post. Who sent the almajiris? Do you almajiris have a sense and power of your own? How are you show those are not miscreants as well? |
Yyeske:...and the SE people cannot buy from the border? Remember they are still in Nigeria and have access to the border the northerners have access to. Can you reason this out. The goods are sold and bought with money and not gifted...just as we will do something to make sure they don't receive any money from VAT on alcohol we consume...which their HISBAH Sharia police destroy. Tax paid by Guinness, NBL and others is in billions...That's more serious than your cheap blackmail... |
omenka:Over 5.2 million face starvation in NE? Ogbeni your food is needed more in the north than SE? By the way who would be affected most if your farmers can't sell their goods? You need a better brain to reason. You think say you dey do me. You dey do yourself...Leave that propaganda jare!! |
ProWalker:...but the killing of Igbos in the north since 1953...including the riot about a cartoon in Denmark and the Miss world peagent are a more than showing of love...abi? |
tolufase:We must force them to remain with us...at GUN POINT...I beg I dey go for owambe party..Bose dey wait for me there..I no dey miss chilled Guilder beer and cow skin. Heheheheheh!

Daviddson:So you mean your military is lying like your Lai Mohammed? |
Daviddson:Lying thief. I thought the military said nobody was killed? |
Alikote:Why don't you have that on the road to Sambisa? Coward. You are only strong when it relates to children, women and unarmed people... |

Fifty seven years after attaining independence, there is still unease in some parts of Nigeria, with some ethnic groups seeking to secede from the Nigerian federation while others are demanding restructuring of the country.... “Since 1914 the British Government has been trying to make Nigeria into one country, but the Nigerian people themselves are historically different in their backgrounds, in their religious beliefs and customs and do not show themselves any signs of willingness to unite … Nigerian unity is only a British invention” – Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, 1948. ...read more https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/why-agitations-and-separatist-demands-refuse-to-die.html
