. The Midwest couldn't stomach your atrocities on them that they had to start protesting and campaigning vehemently to leave you less than 3 years after independence.
They finally got it in 1963. 3 years. Ordinary 3 years!!!
Yiu couldn't keep them for ordinary 3 years yet you point accusing fingers.
If the eastern minorities were oppressed so much as you claim, why didn't they borrow a leaf from the Midwest and leave too?
Instead they stuck with us through thick and thin. Braved the civil war with us, and finally, you had to come in and separate us with military force.
And that evil army of division was headed by no other than a man from the same region that oppressed the Midwest out of their region.
newnigeriannew: You are describing what you were doing in the Eastern Region that made Boro ask for the Niger Delta Republic, which was stopped by the SE leadership that was in power then.
Added: Mind you the West allowed the Mid-West to stand on their own, till Biafra came and attacked them for no reason.
Adaka boro is one man. The minorities of the old eastern region had their council which consisted of politicians, elites and traditional rulers of the time. They did not campaign extensively to leave the east.
That action happened in only one region of this country, and that was the west. They left And still, it hasn't stopped you from oppressing them even as of today.
Added: Mind you the West allowed the Mid-West to stand on their own, till Biafra came and attacked them for no reason.
The Midwest cried out to part ways from you people. The federal government then controlled by the north saw it as an opportunity to weaken awolowo who wasn't in good standing with them at the time.
You ""allowed"" them to stand on their own... See your mouth. one is allowed to fool himself tho. What I won't tolerate is lies and propaganda.
newnigeriannew: But you needed one Nigeria, when some parts of the South South were in the former eastern region who were being marginalised, because a South East man was in power then.
When South East were in power and Niger Delta wanted the Niger Delta republic as they were being marginalised by the south east, the South East were the ones that stopped them.
"before Ojuku a south east man declared the republic of biafra in may 1967 Isaac adaka boro an Ijaw man had already declared the Niger delta republic in february 1966. boro had formed the niger delta volunteer force an armed militia with members consisting mainly of his fellow ethnic group declared the niger delta republic on february 23 1966 and fought nigeria's federal forces for 12 days but they were eventually defeated and then jailed by the Ironsi a south east man in the federal military government [and Ojuku a south eastern governor] for treason"
But it was Gowon from Kanke Local Government Area in Plateau State that later set boro free and boro later became a major in the Nigeria army and helped to tame the Biafra army.
The South East started the civil war because they wanted to take the lands and oil of the Niger Delta and their sea ports from the people that own the Niger Delta, because the Europeans came and created Nigeria and put some parts of the Niger Delta in the SE then and the south east coup of 1967 made Ojukwu the military governor of the SE region.
There's only one region where the minorities campaigned extensively to leave and form its own region. And that region is the west.
You guys love accusing others of what you are guilty of.
The Midwest fought to part ways from you people because of your wickedness. That never happened in the old eastern region.
Adaka boro fought to leave Nigeria, not east. And he didn't recruit his soldiers overnight. It happened through years of northern oil domination of their land which is still ongoing today with connivance from your people.
Don't paint it like Ironsi came to power, and boom, he recruited fighters and want to leave due to oppression from a very new government. It takes time to recruit people who will put their lives on the line for a cause.
Even the old Midwest, you have installed iyaloja there, imposing your culture upon them with the small presidency you got. I mean, they have left you and your oppression, but you refuse to leave them and to stop oppressing them.
If you can do this now regardless of their opinion, only God knows how it used to be back then.
You accuse Igbo of trying to dominate, please remind us which ooni connived with the sultan of Sokoto to become permanent co-chair men of the Nigerian traditional rulers council.
The idea is while the sultan becomes the king of kings of the north, the ooni becomes the king of kings of the South.
Even as the plan got exposed and failed, it didn't stop the ooni from addressing himself as such.
And This is also something that happened recently. Now imagine how it used to be.
. Its a well known fact that the eastern government of the time were pro awolowo in the fight between him and akintola.
And the northern government of the time, including the central government of tafawa balewa were pro akintola, and being the power at the center, they connived, charged him for treason and locked him up in Calabar where his supporters won't reach him.
So awolowos wife being on the eastern government's payroll, which actually happened, is not as dramatic as Ojukwu jailbreaking awolowo out from federal prison.
And we all know that the civil war is all painted in glory in the east.
Racoon: Another solemn truth ever spoken.Nigerians were warned but parochial sentiments beclouded our sound sense of judgement.Today, the frightening reality is crystal clear.Nigeria is indeed sitting on a time bomb.A peaceful separation is far better than a inevitable war because “Unity without verity, is no better than conspiracy.” -John Trapp(English philosopher).
However, SWners like Bola Tinubu, Femi Fani-Kayode, Femi Adeshina MURIC, BMC zombies will still blindly defend these killers because as Mr lifeless asslickers they must just eat crumbs that fell from their slavemaster's table.
Racoon: Yeah! You were talking against the British govt because they refused to support the fraudulent election that want to bring a drug lord into power. After all your past epistles chronicling all the atrocities of the feudal power lords?
Guess you still remember that the fulanis that have & are still ravaging the SW that your people are fleeing to Benin Republic? "...In fact, if there are Nigerians that can be exonerated they are the people of the Southeast and South-south; but the North and the Southwest are responsible for our problems today under this regime. I said it right from the beginning that Buhari is not competent and therefore cannot lead.
Now, we are crying. It was our shortsightedness. People did not behave the way they are supposed to behaved when Buhari was looking for power...."
Christlike01: What happenned to the man in the video will happen to you, your entire family, and even that Peter of Psquare. Oro jade Ase gun— o dimule loni Eje Jesu şedidi e! You won't escape it!
Are you done shouting "go and protest in your region" with your other Christ moniker?
Greattha: Yes, some low i.q, inept buffoons said so first but I find your joke distasteful...
You don't have to stoop to their level...
We all know they have traded their senses for scraps but joking with a situation such as this, where babies have been kidnapped for weeks while the president who's supposed to give direct orders to get them out is speaking jargon is nothing funny tbh.
It could happen to anyone...then you won't see the need to joke.
If you like find it distasteful or disamalaful.
These people would spring out one south during Buhari era when they're feeling sidelined, only to turn back and slap our faces.
This is also a protest against their party and messiah Tinubu, and I will tell everyone the same thing they said last time such was ongoing... Go and protest in your state!
. If they are trying to organize protest, make who wan do protest go him state go do am o.
After all that's what his tribes people have been chanting. Don't involve us when e hot for una, and discard us when objectives achieved. Like una dey do with "one south"
Governors should secure court order limiting protests to one school field.
zoghys: What's this rubbish you posted, is this a tit for tat game to you. Infact, I wonder how lots like you even sleep at night making every topic a political discuss. We're talking about human lives whether in zamfara, ebonyi or ogun. This government has failure it's citizens and should be kicked out of power. This as nothing to do with party affiliation as least to the rational ones, it's about a better Nigeria which is looking unlikely every day.
Anybody that truly believes he will kick Tinubu out of power in 2027, even if Tinubu scores zero vote does not live in reality, and does not deserve my reply. But this is my thread so I'll reply you to an extent.
Wake up.
And oh yes, it's tit for tat. Because some people don't realize the weight of their actions, until same is done to them. And unless you do that to them, they will continue doing it to you over and over again
MadPolitician: Wole Soyinka and all those noise makers that protested the increase of the petroleum pump price to 97 naira under GEJ, were they all from Okota?
No they're not.
But when others want to protest freely , they bring in division.
It's time to give them a dose of their own medicine
Didn't Oyo state vote for Tinubu so massively that no other candidate got 25% from there?
Oga eeh, no vex me oo.
APC!! Change!!
As long Tinubu is there and showing everybody, including people that voted for him shege, jagaban till 2050
Please we all should endeavor to vote for Tinubu, he will perform just that he need 15 years, we all know how tough it is to perform in Nigeria.
You dey mind them... Same People that said if you want to protest you should go to your state. They now want national protest. Maybe they think they are special or something.
Metrosavana: This should have been done from day one. What if they have kpaid all of them. Not just Oyo NUT but all schools in Nigeria should be shut down till the Government takes decisive action.
Jakumo: You have spoken the words that the Nigerian nation needs to hear. You are a person with a conscience, who knows that when one person is dehumanized, an entire nation is dehumanized.
