we didn't throw anything away. to be fair, i thought the brum boys deserved a point from the game - it shouldn't matter how they managed to nick it via zigic's arm and zigic fouling ferdinand. the line assistant also pitied birmingham's effort and the fact that they would have remained in the relegation zone. he was always going to give them that benefit.

on the balance of play, we didn't cause them too much harm. the first half was terrible. we got better in the second but fergie gambled towards the end when players like giggs and gibson tired out. he should have changed it by then but i guess he wanted the players on the bench fresh for the next game because of the heavy fixtures. sometimes he gambles and he gets it right but tonight wasn't such night. it was a good point - i won't see it as points dropped.

Believe me,our pressing game/defending from the front played a big role in the victory.How do you think we came bout those 2 goals in quick succession?We harried them like we did Everton last season at their ground.

arsenal won the game simply because of what they did while in possession and what they did when not in possession. robin van persie might not have hit the onion bag this season but he has to be credited for his pressing last night. he kept defending from the front - never giving ivanovic and terry any breathing space and when petr cech went the long ball route, djourou and koscielny dominated drogba. another masterstroke was starting theo walcott to curtail ashley cole's offensive quality. chelsea were lethargic. malouda, essien, ferreira, kalou should have their wages deducted for three months.

I know I read somewhere Berbatov saying he has done a lot of work personally to improve on his runnings and movements on the field. This season, you'll see him hacking people down and running back to track balls. The berba of this season is far better than last seasons

that is hogwash! berbatov is not running faster or hustling harder than he was doing last season. the position he plays now is the reason for his goals. as an aside, berbatov's brilliance is also tied to rooney playing behind him because rooney himself is a brilliant passer of the ball. that berbatov didn't score a goal in about 8 games in rooney's absence is no coincidence. the fact is fans should not expect berbatov to provide the through balls and expect him to finish off the moves he started all by himself. he's playing as the poacher now and rooney is happy to provide the through balls. i am happy with that.

I said it before the match Arsenal will win.

it's the three points that matter. arsenal won convincingly. it wasn't a jammy win. the goals were well worked and arsenal should have asked more. nasri lost his bearing and diaby seems to play in slow motion. he got himself into a great position and it took him about 17 seconds to sort his legs out and shoot. what a player!

Guy, you are wicked hey, Listen, I 'm a Chelsea fan but I can't stand Mikel's style of play and that Paulo Feirera guy(He is even worse). Everytime I see feirera in our line-up i know something bad might happen, look at that penalty. If  Ref didn't allow advantage Feirera would have received a yellow + penalty awarded.

i am just saying we cannot blame mikel for the way chelsea want him to operate. if the instruction is for him to stay put, he will. it has nothing to do with alex song being better. every player in the arsenal team is a striker(wenger wants them to get forward and help. it's the reason arsenal lose more matches than chelsea. . . . .it's the reason chelsea win more than arsenal.

mikel has started all chelsea's games this season and i don't really think alex song is a defensive midfielder. he's a central mifielder(but the most defensive arsenal have). mikel will never be in the position song was when he scored. it's the way their respective managers want them to play. alex song is given a license to go forward, mikel's instruction is to stay behind and protect his back four. it's worked for chelsea - they have titles to show for it. will it work for arsenal? we shall see in may.

I agree  with you about Malouda but Kalou has always played typical school boy's footie. He's either holding on to the ball too long or committing need-less fouls.

kalou has this knack of beating his man one on one but that has been non-existent. now i am pissed united's game at the bridge got cancelled. nani would have made a minced-meat out of ferreira/ashley cole.

By the way, lots of pressure on Chelsea right now but I'm confident Chelsea will run  away with this even if  Arsenal scores now.It's typical boys against men style game this one,  let's wait and see.

arsenal have been the better side and i am happy they have a deserved lead. let's now hope they don't fall apart like they did against spurs some weeks ago.
