Sports / Jose Mourinho Ready To Sell Davinson Sanches by Counceller1: 5:46pm On Mar 26, 2020
Jose Mourinho is ready to sell Davinson Sanchez out of Tottenham, as a result, to get hold of two of his top summer transfer targets, according to articles in Spain.

The 23-year-old Colombia international moved from Ajax in August 2017 for a fee reported to be £42million and has gone on to become a pillar at the heart of Spurs’ first half on the field of play.

The formal Ajax man has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season as they have battled their way out in the Premier League – where they are currently eighth on the league – while they were knocked out in the last-16 of the Champions League, in a disappointing season.

And now Spanish channel Don Balon reports that Mourinho is willing to offer Davinson Sanchez to Real Madrid in exchange for their centra defender Eder Militao.

Two positions are said to be ‘unforgettable’ Mourinho currently with a central defender and striker his priorities for the upcoming transfer window. And, in an effort to solve his issues in those areas, ‘he looks at Real Madrid’ where he has an interest in both Militao and striker Luka Jovic.

The report adds that Mourinho will have an ‘easier time’ convincing Jovic to do a deal with the Serbia international failing to hit the ground running since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt last year.

That’s because Militao, who has used sparingly this season under Zinedine Zidane, believes next season will be his big chance to nail down a regular starting berth at the Bernabeu. But that doesn’t look like putting Mourinho off.

Sports / Milan Jump On Bayern Munich Midfielder by Counceller1: 5:38pm On Mar 26, 2020
Milan are reportedly planning a summer jump on for Bayern Munich midfielder Mickael Cuisance.

Changes are expected in Milan’s engine room this summer, with Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura set to leave once their contracts expire on June 30, while Franck Kessie and Lucas Paqueta could follow them out of San Siro.

With that in mind, Gazzetta dello Sport claims Cuisance perfectly fits the Rossoneri’s bill of a young midfielder with quality, available at an affordable price.

Bayern paid €12m to sign the France Under-20 international from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer, but he has gone on to play just three times for the German giants.

The newspaper explains Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada is a big fan of the 20-year-old and already tracked him during the 2019 U-20 World Cup.

It is thought Bayern would be willing to part with Cuisance on loan with an option or buy out clause for just €10m.

Sports / Tiemoué Bakayoko; I Want A Return To AC Milan by Counceller1: 10:17pm On Mar 25, 2020
Chelsea owned midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko is enticed to a return to AC Milan in the summer, after almost returning to the Rossoneri in the January transfer window, according to a report from Italian media channel Calciomercato.com today.

The article specifies how the 25-year-old Frenchman, who is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Monaco, is expecting to return to London in the summer, as Monaco don’t look likely to make his move to the Principality permanent. He knows that Chelsea coach Frank Lampard doesn’t consider him involved in the future and so is hoping for a dream return to AC Milan.

Tiemoué Bakayoko was close to returning in January, the report continues. Milan executives Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban spoke with Chelsea and Monaco in the winter transfer window, but a deal never hold because of the Rossoneri’s failure to sell 23-year-old Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie. Tiemoué Bakayoko will now have to wait until the summer, after the coronavirus emergency begins to ease up.

Sports / Barcelona Linked Signing Lautaro Martinez by Counceller1: 10:59pm On Mar 24, 2020
In recent weeks, or perhaps months, Lautaro Martinez has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer. Of course, as there are no games to target on for media, the reporting has certainly been a lot more transfer-related as of late and the Argentine striker can’t escape the gossips.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via TuttoMercatoWeb.com), the Catalan side are not in any way ready to let go of the Inter forward, who has been one of Inter’s most influential players thus for this season. In fact, contacts with the player’s agent are frequent.

According to the report, Barca and the agent, have reached an agreement in principle on the contract and now Barcelona will have to convince Inter Milan. This is easier said than done, as the Nerazzurri have no intention of giving up their big star unless a hefty offer is presented.

On this front, the €111m release clause will be decisive as a reference point, since Inter aren’t willing to take anything less.

Sports / Cristiano Ronaldo To Quit Juve For PSG? by Counceller1: 10:50pm On Mar 24, 2020
Two years away from now;2018, Cristiano Ronaldo made a shocking move leaving Real Madrid after winning before now another Champions League cup and decided to join Juventus in a 100 million euro move that surprised the whole football fatality. The 35-year-old sensation signed a contract expected to end by June 2022 at the Allianz Stadium but could his contract with the club end without the spending all years agreed in the contract? It seems like that could be the case.

The United and Madrid striker arrived at the club with the main motive of helping the Bianconeri win the Champions League but in his first season, Massimiliano Allegri’s men were shocked by Ajax in the quarterfinals of the competition, while this season it is uncertain whether the competition will be concluded, with Juventus still having the chance to turn around the 0-1 result from Lyon in the second leg at home.

Notwithstanding, according to what journalist Fabio Santini told live on air at 7 Gold (via ilbianconero.com), the hero is seriously considering leaving Turin ahead of the upcoming football season.

According to Santini; “We can say with absolute certainty that the rumours from Spain about Ronaldo are very realistic. C. Ronaldo is seriously thinking of saying goodbye to Juventus and he would have already decided his new team: it would be PSG. He would be part of a stellar attack with Mbappe and would likely take Neymar’s place in the French capital,”.

Sports / Manchester United News Jude Bellingham by Counceller1: 6:59pm On Mar 19, 2020
Jude Bellingham has been the main man of many top European clubs for the next transfer window. The young champ was being the main option for many clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Borrusia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich. In the past few weeks, it was clear that Jude Bellingham’s top two options were Manchester United and Dortmund. On a more serious note, Dortmund seems to be the favourite, hence, more likely to sign Jude Bellingham ahead of Manchester United. Many supporters believe this was because of Burrusia Dortmund’s great affirmation to youth.

However, Ed Woodward declined to give up on Bellingham, as he as been seen as a prime target. Woodward gave the England youth international a private tour of the inner workings of the Red Devils at the training complex and stadium, in spite of precautions caused by Covid-19. Club legend Sir Alex Ferguson was even brought in to influence him.

Another factor contributing to Bellingham’s possible move to Manchester is his family. His family was hoping that Jude would sign for an English team so they wouldn’t have to relocate.

After all this, it seemed that United’s attempts were futile and that Bellingham would be snatched away by Dortmund. Now, the Red Devils are pulling out all their tricks, and have offered Jude Bellingham a massive deal to try and sway him.

According to Daily Mirror, Manchester United are ready to pay £30million to sign Bellingham.

As clear as it is, he turns 17 on June 29th, which is the minimum age to sign a professional contract. The Sun reported that this birthday will come in time for the summer transfer window where he can be offered deals worth up to £100,000 a week. This would make him one of the highest-paid teenagers in football. Currently, he only earns a rumoured £150-a-week, so this offer will be very difficult to reject.

Jude Bellingham’s future is still not certain, but it seems Manchester United will stop at nothing to sign him. This itself should help to convince the 16-year-old because he will obviously be highly rated in Manchester.

Sports / Gonzalo Higuain Skip Isolation? Says Repubblica by Counceller1: 6:06pm On Mar 19, 2020
According to La Repubblica, Gonzalo Higuain tried to ‘skip’ isolation and depart to Argentina with his family, in spite of two Juventus teammates proving positive for coronavirus.

The newspaper’s online edition reported that police stopped him at the Caselle Airport in Turin as he tried to board a private jet, where he showed them a prove that confirmed he was negative for COVID-19.

However, as the disease has such a long gestation period and two teammates – Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi – tested positive, Gonzalo Higuain was authorized to stay in self-isolation for at least another week.

As regular flights to Argentina from Italy are avoided, La Repubblica also stated in the report that Pipita and his family rather crossed the border into France, having access to move to Spain, from there flying to South America.

The report states it is not confirmed as to whether Juventus were aware of Gonzalo Higuain’s travel plans or not

Sports / Steve Nicol; Sell Sadio Mane You Want Timo Werner by Counceller1: 9:44pm On Mar 18, 2020
Steve Nicol is very certain that the only way Liverpool can let Sadio Mane move to Real Madrid is if they finalize the signing of Timo Werner to replace him.

The Senegal international has been connected with a summer transfer to Spain after another exceptional season in front of goal, with 14 goals to his credit in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are also reportedly the favorite for signing Timo Werner the RB Leipzig forward, who admitted he is evaluating his chances to move to Anfield, Manchester United and Manchester City.

When asked if Mane could go in the summer, Reds legend Steve Nicol told ESPN: ‘That’s only any good if you bring in Timo Werner

‘Unfortunately, there aren’t many [players like Werner] around.

‘What if Werner wants to go elsewhere?

‘If you’re going to get £140 million for Sadio Mane and you have someone like Timo Werner available, then I think you can take the chance.’

Nicol urged Jurgen Klopp to look at selling Mohamed Salah if he is to get rid of one of his attacking talismans.

The Reds legend added: ‘If I had the choice, I would rather sell Salah, keep Mane and have Timo Werner on the other side.’

Liverpool are just two wins away from claiming their first league title in over 30 years. They may have to wait a while longer, with the FA announcing last Friday that the Premier League is suspended until at least April 4 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sports / Callum Hudson-odoi ‘responding To Treatment’ After Virus Affection by Counceller1: 10:01am On Mar 18, 2020
The Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who became the first Premier League player to test positive for the coronavirus, “responding to treatment” in his betterment.

The 19-year-old’s positive test last week had prompted the London club to partially close their Cobham training centre, with the first-team squad and coaching staff asked to self-isolate as a precaution.

“I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is obviously the news we all want to hear,” Lampard told the club’s website.

“I’m aware that not everyone can or will recover from this virus, so I urge the football and sporting community to continue to act responsibly and look out for the health of others.”

Chelsea said their training facility had been reopened for those who did not have recent close contact with Hudson-Odoi.

The league has been suspended until April 4 because of the outbreak that has virtually shut down world sport.

Globally, the flu-like virus has infected over 190,000 people and killed more than 7,500.

“We still don’t know when competitive football will restart, but it isn’t worth worrying about that too much at the moment,” Lampard added

“We all miss football but right now it’s about acting responsibly and in the best interests of society.”

Sports / Way Out For Champions League And Europa League by Counceller1: 8:24am On Mar 18, 2020
There could be Champions League and Europa League games at the weekend in order to get the tournaments completed this season, with potential Finals on June 27 and 25.

Euro 2020 and the Copa America have now been postponed until next summer, giving all the club tournaments time to conclude after the suspension for the coronavirus pandemic has been lifted.

A statement from UEFA, the European Club Association, European Leagues and FIFPro Europe committed to getting all the club competitions finished by June 30.

It included a point on “possible limitations or drops of current exclusive calendar slots, potentially resulting in the scheduling of domestic league matches in mid-week and scheduling of UEFA club competitions matches on weekends.”

According to multiple reports, the hopeful plan is to play the Europa League Final in Gdansk on June 25 (rather than the previously-set May 27), with the Champions League decided in Istanbul on June 27 (rather than May 30).

Sky Sport Italia suggest there are several potential options for these competitions to reach a regular conclusion, but it seems frankly unlikely that the campaign will resume by April 14 or 28.

There could be a rapid-fire formula imposed on the final stages of the competition to get the trophy assigned within two weeks, should the delay stretch on into June.

Sports / Coronavirus: Spanish Coach Dies After Been Affected by Counceller1: 2:49pm On Mar 17, 2020
Francisco Garcia Tthe youth coach of Malaga-based is said to have joined the ancestors at the age of 21 after testing positive for the coronavirus.

The Spaniard had been plying his trade at Atletico Portada Alta and was found to be more vulnerable to the virus due to a pre-existing health condition.

Garcia’s positive test came simultaneously with the unexpected news he had been suffering from a form of leukaemia for quite some time.

Spanish newspaper Malaga Hoy reports that Garcia had been diagnosed with both coronavirus and pneumonia and was unable to recover as a result.

“We want to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and close friends of our coach Francisco Garcia who has left us, unfortunately,” Atletico Portada Alta said in a statement.

Sports / Mahrez To PSG? Manchester City Wouldn’t Block £80m Move by Counceller1: 9:50am On Mar 17, 2020
The Algerian star could leave the Etihad Stadium for the French giants this summer, but he will only be allowed to go for the right price

Manchester City will not hinder Riyad Mahrez’s move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The Parisians are reportedly trying to lure the 29-year-old away from the reigning Premier League champions.

Having scored nine goals and provided 14 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions this term, it is understandable why the Parc des Princes giants would want him.

Nevertheless, the Citizens have disclosed that they would not stand in the way of the ex-Leicester City man should he desire a move, if the price is right.

According to Goal’s Manchester City correspondent Jonathan Smith, Guardiola will not keep any player who is not willing to stay, however, they will not see Mahrez leave for less than £80 million.

“Manchester City players have been reassured that they will be playing Champions League football next season so have no plans to start selling players on the back of their ban,” said Smith.

“But that won’t stop some of the uncertainty amongst players and agents and obviously Paris is a natural place for Riyad Mahrez to be linked with.

“If he decided that it was the right move for him, Pep Guardiola wouldn’t keep anyone that doesn’t want to be there, but it’s difficult to see City letting him go for less than £80 million.”

Before joining the Foxes in 2014, the 2016 African Player of the Year began his career with AAS Sarcelles, then Quimper and Le Havre.

In England, he has enjoyed much success, winning two Premier Leagues, one Community Shield, two English League Cups, and one FA Cup diadem.

Sports / Jason Mcateer: Jurgen Klopp Can Bring £170m Double To Liverpool by Counceller1: 6:55pm On Mar 16, 2020
Jason McAteer, the former Liverpool player has said that coach Jurgen Klopp is supposed to sign the the 19-year-old England international winger and 24-year-old Germany international striker for the team to press on.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been connected with Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho.

During an article in The Racing Post, Jason McAteer has suggested that Liverpool should sign Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho from RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund respectively in the summer transfer window.

Jason McAteer has also listed how the LIverpool manager can influence the two attacking players to move to Anfield.

Jason McAteer wrote in The Racing Post: “You accept a Klopp team will not change in terms of approach and style. But this particular team cannot keep doing it, this front three is on the brink and has to change.

“And that means that this summer is the time to bring in the likes of Jadon Sancho and Timo Werner.

“The first thing they’ll want is guarantees that they’ll be getting game time in among Liverpool’s trio of superstars but if I was Klopp I’d be telling them you’ll get more minutes than you think.

“The solution to the front three is not to break it up immediately but Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino can’t go on forever so this summer Klopp has to be planning for the next stage.”

Both Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho have been connected with transfer to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to The Times, Liverpool want Timo Werner, who has a release clause of £50 million in his contract, according to Sky Sports.

The Mirror has claimed that Sancho could cost as much as £120 million, with The Daily Mail reporting that Liverpool want the former Manchester City prospect.

Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho are two of the best overwhelming players in the world, and if Liverpool are able to sign them this summer, then they would potentially have the best third half unit in the world.

Sports / Champions League Could Change To A “final Four” Setup by Counceller1: 6:13pm On Mar 16, 2020
Last week, UEFA made the decision to delay the Champions League and Europa League in facts of the coronavirus all-over.

There are yet eight more clubs to play each other in their respective second league of the Round of 16 to determine the next four clubs to join the 4 already qualified clubs then the rest of the competition to finish. However, there’s no assurance that the Champions League will restart under the same setup as it use to be in the previous years.

The information was conveyed just two days after Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the Parc des Princes to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament where they joined RB Leipzig, Atalanta BC, and Atlético Madrid who also secured their ticket into the next stage of the tournament.

According to AS Diario, there is a proposed plan that will be familiar to fans of college basketball’s Final Four. Essentially, the semi-finals and finals would be played in a single-legged format over a four-day period. The Champions League “Final Four” would take place in Istanbul as previously scheduled and the Europa League will conclude in Gdansk.

The quarter-finals, where PSG finds themselves right now for the first time since 2016, is also expected to be played in a single-game format. Those four games could be played at a neutral setting or the draw to decide the pairings may also give home-field advantage to one of the teams.

We’ll know on Tuesday which direction UEFA is headed in after the organization meets and will vote on a proposal.

Whatever UEFA decides, if PSG is able to march on to the end and win the Champions League, you can expect the accomplishment to be diminished by critics due to the rule changes. Fans, of course, will celebrate it just like any other.

Sports / Chelsea As Stated Setting Out £85 Million Deal For Bundesliga Star by Counceller1: 2:08pm On Mar 16, 2020
There are a number of players who continue to get linked to a potential move to Chelsea season after season.

One of those players who just seems destined to one day join the club is Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

Chelsea have been an admirer of the 22-year old Jamaican international since his younger days, but a move to London has yet transpired.

Since then, Bailey has had some mixed form on the pitch and interest had died down a little.

But a report via The Express, suggests that Chelsea are ready to reignite said interest and make a move for Bailey this summer, who they say will cost around £85 million.

Chelsea will face competition though, says the publication, citing Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal as all holding an interest in signing the former Genk player.

Sports / Champions League; PSG Players And Fans Take Part In Wild Celebrations Outside St by Counceller1: 10:38am On Mar 12, 2020
Paris Saint-Germain supporters may have been prevented the chance to watch their team walk over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but that did not stop them from coming together with the players to celebrate the win.

PSG attained a 2-0 win on the match day to a 3-2 win on aggregate and earn a place in the quarter-finals. However, the match was played behind-closed-doors at the Parc des Princes as French power elite levied steps to control the spread of the coronavirus.

Thousands of fans still gathered outside the stadium to cheer on the team and after the game, PSG players climbed to the top tier of the Parc des Princes to celebrate with those gathered below.

Red clouds of smoke caused by flares engulfed the area surrounding the stadium as players, staff, and supporters chanted and danced in celebration.

“We have values and we have character,” said centre back Marquinhos, who captained the team in the absence of the injured Thiago Silva.

“We heard the fans, we saw them before the game, I had never seen that before. It is what football is about, it’s about passion, that’s what we’re here for.”

The wild celebrations demonstrated PSG’s relief after traumatic recent exits from Europe’s most prestigious club competition at the last-16 stage.

In 2017, PSG were eliminated 6-5 on aggregate by Barcelona after letting slip a 4-0 advantage, and last season they lost to Manchester United on away goals after a 2-0 win at Old Trafford in the first leg.

Indeed, there were reports that manager Thomas Tuchel could face the sack if he was unable to end PSG’s Champions League woes, but the German has eased the pressure, at least for now.

Sports / Hans-joachim Watzke Reveals Chelsea Target Jadon Sancho May ‘press On For A Tran by Counceller1: 10:21am On Mar 12, 2020
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke reveals Chelsea reported transfer target Jadon Sancho may press on for a transfer.

Hans-Joachim Watzke cheered the 19-year-old as one of the best young promise players in Europe.

He told RMC Sport: “Jadon is a great, great talent, maybe the greatest talent in Europe currently of players under the age of 21.

“In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the two or three best players in the world in the years to come.”

Hans-Joachim Watzke said he would like to keep Sancho in Dortmund for as long as possible, but also revealed he couldn’t stop the player from requesting a transfer.

He added: “If one day he comes to us and says that he wants to leave the club, then we’ll discuss it.”

Chelsea will reportedly face fierce competition from Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid for the England international’s signature.

Although Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ajax Amsterdam’s winger Hakim Ziyech who will be joining the club this summer, the West London outfit are still in the market for wingers.

It is due to the fact that two of Frank Lampard’s wingers; Willian and Pedro, will both see their respective contracts expire in summer.

Looking at his performance for Dortmund and England, Sancho would be a tremendous boost for Chelsea attack. He has already had 17 goals and 19 assists in all competition for Dortmund this season.

Sancho is reportedly valued at around £102 million, but the biggest issue regarding his potential transfer would be the agent fee which could reach £42.6m according to transfer expert Ian McGarry (Football London).

Sports / Coronavirus: Kylian Mbappe To Been Examined by Counceller1: 11:22am On Mar 11, 2020
Kylian Mbappe has been tried for coronavirus, as indicated by L’Equipe.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been sick in the previous week, experiencing serious angina.

Consequently, as an insurance, he was tried on Tuesday to see whether he’s gotten the infection.

The Frenchman is as yet sitting tight for his outcomes yet it’s accepted he’s not influenced. French writer Julien Maynard later uncovered that the test returned negative.

PSG’s Champions League conflict against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday is as of now being played away from public scrutiny – in the same way as other matches around Europe.

Serie A has been suspended until April 3, while in France’s Ligue 1 matches with more than 1,000 supporters will be played behind closed doors until April 15.

In La Liga, all fixtures for the next two weeks will also be played behind closed doors.

It seems it’s only a matter of time before the Premier League follow suit.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that UEFA are considering cancelling both the Champions League and Europa League after the last-16. While there must now be serious doubts over Euro 2020, which is being held all over Europe.

Earlier on Tuesday, Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos owner tested positive for coronavirus.

A Forest club statement read: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that owner Evangelos Marinakis has tested positive for the coronavirus

“Mr Marinakis was diagnosed after showing the first symptoms on his return to Greece yesterday afternoon. During his short stay in Nottingham last week he did not show any symptoms of the virus.

“The club are seeking advice from medical professionals and the relevant governing bodies to ensure the correct measures are taken. Until this time the club will be making no further comment.”

Sports / Jose Mourinho Is Currently On The Poorest Run Of His Entire Coaching Career by Counceller1: 11:04am On Mar 11, 2020
Tottenham were eliminated from the Champions League by RB Leipzig on yesterday night.

Jose Mourinho’s side travelled to Germany looking to reverse a 1-0 defeat after the first leg.

But couldn’t make it.

Marcel Sabitzer’s shot which beat Huge Lloris who could only get a weak hand on the ball before it rolled into the net sees Leipzig took the lead within the first 10 minutes .

Just 11 minutes later, it was 2-0 and questions were asked of the Spurs goalkeeper again, when he was beaten at his near post by Sabitzer’s header.

The visitors offered very little in response and their fate was sealed in the 87th minute when Emil Forsberg scored a third.

With that, Tottenham were eliminated from the Champions League, losing on 4-0 aggregate. It could be quite a while before they return to European competition too.

This result will no doubt hurt the whole team, but also Mourinho himself.

The Portuguese coach is now on the poorest run of his entire coaching career – without a win in six straight matches; losing four and drawing two .

what a shock to see search a thing happen to Jose Mourinho since this has never happened in his previous 929 matches.

So, is this a problem with Spurs, or their coach himself?

It’s probably a bit of both, to be honest.

Yes, Mourinho can complain about having a light squad and all the injury problems he has, but the way he set his side up on Tuesday was also a factor in the defeat.

Tottenham were outclassed in every area by a team very few had tipped to even reach the Champions League knockout stages.

Their latest defeat piles the pressure on for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, too.

Coronavirus: La Liga, Ligue 1 club matches & Barca Champions League match behind closed doors
March 11, 2020 Eugene EvangelistExclusives, Trending News
Matches in the top two divisions in Spain and France are to be played behind closed doors because of coronavirus concerns.

La Liga announced its ruling will affect the next two rounds of fixtures while the French league said fans will be banned until 15 April.

La Liga said it acted on guidance from Spain’s ministry of health.

The French government announced on Sunday a ban on all gatherings of more than 1,000 people.

In Germany, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Bundesliga tie against Cologne on Wednesday night will take place behind close doors, as will five of the nine top-flight matches over the weekend.

Union Berlin’s match against Bayern Munich on Saturday will go ahead with fans present, but the status of the other three games is yet to be decided.

Germany’s health minister Jens Spahn has called for gatherings of more than 1,000 people to be cancelled and several regional governments have issued such bans.

Barcelona’s Champions League match against Napoli on 18 March will also be played at an empty Nou Camp.

“The decision has been made strictly for health reasons,” said Joan Guix, Catalunya government’s health chief.

It is the second Spanish-Italian Champions League fixture at which supporters have been banned, following Valencia versus Atalanta on Tuesday.

Sevilla’s match against Roma and Getafe’s game with Inter Milan in the Europa League have suffered the same fate.

Paris St-Germain’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday will also be closed to fans.

The Spanish players’ union AFE have called for the suspension of all men’s and women’s football in the country.

In letters to the Higher Sports Council, Spanish football federation (RFEF) and La Liga, it said the request was “exclusively about the health of the players” the body represents.

“In addition, playing in stadiums closed to the public for several weeks undermines the meaning of sports competitions,” AFE added.

All sport in Italy has been suspended until at least 3 April because of coronavirus. The ruling includes Serie A matches but not Italian clubs or national teams participating in international competitions.

Germany’s international friendly with Italy in Nuremberg on 31 March will also be played behind closed doors. England are due to play Italy at Wembley four days earlier.

Manchester United’s Europa League last-16 first leg match at LASK Linz in Austria on Thursday is another match that will be played without fans.

The magnificent attacker is hoping to earn a position in Didier Deschamps’ squad for this season,s European Championship.
Anthony Martial took his records to 17 goals for Manchester United this season after scoring an exclusive opener in Sunday’s derby match against Man City at Old Trafford. The arrival of Odion Ighalo has seen the former AS Monaco youngster raise his game and it’s having a huge impact on results.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has entrusted in Martial to lead the line for Manchester United after off loading Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan. The Frenchman has scored in three of his last five outings, and has already formed a strong relationship with new signing Bruno Fernandes.

United are unbeaten in their last 10 games and are still in with a shot of FA Cup and Europa League success, as well as the fight for top four.

Martial is determined to get United back into the Champions League, but he is also thinking ahead of this summer’s European Championship.

When asked by RMC Sport if he hopes to return to the France squad this year, Martial said (translated by GOAL): “Yes, I’m thinking about it. I want to go to the Euros. We’ll see. I do my job, that’s all.

“I’m trying yo do my best to help United finish in the top four. I will try to score as many goals as possible to find the season well.”

Martial was a member of the France squad which reached the Euro 2016 final, but two years later he was left out of Deschamps’ World Cup winning squad.

Now, we are starting to see the best of Martial again but it will always be a challenge to make the French squad considering the options they have in attack.

Fingers crossed, of course. Martial has been out of the France team for some time.

Sports / Does Cristiano Ronaldo Want Real Madrid To Return? by Counceller1: 5:47pm On Mar 02, 2020
Cristiano Ronaldo attended El Clasico in Madrid yesterday and a close source to the Juventus star Edu Aguirre reported that he “has a desire to return” to Real Madrid.

The formal Manchester United and Real Madrid star continued his great form in Turin and has already 53 goals in his first 74 appearances with the Bianconeri to his credit.

The Portuguese all-time scorer left Los Blancos in 2018 and won Serie A in his first season with Juventus, currently battling the first place out being second with a lone point behind Lazio this season as well.

When he was at the Santiago Bernabeu to watch Real Madrid win 2-0 against Barcelona, Edu Aguirre talked about their former hero after the match.

“I know for sure that Cristiano has the willingness to return to Real Madrid,” Edu Aguirre told Chiringuito TV. “He felt the affection of Madrid when he came to Bernabeu, he was very happy.

“Now he is totally focused on Juventus, but in football, never say never,” he added. “I don’t know what will happen in the year ahead, nobody can determine.”

Sports / Real Madrid ‘to Launch Sensational £126m Mo Salah Transfer Bid If They Can’t Lan by Counceller1: 7:02am On Mar 02, 2020
REAL MADRID are set to launch a sensational £126million bid for Mohamed Salah if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Los Blancos are itching to bolster their attacking ranks this summer after failing to successfully replace Cristiano Ronaldo following his 2018 move to Juventus.

Zinedine Zidane has been hampered by injuries to the likes of Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale this term.

And the Welsh winger is widely expected to finally be sold this summer after months of warring with the Bernabeu boss.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappe has long been Real Madrid’s top target.

But with the France star potentially costing somewhere between £200m and £250m, Madrid are now turning their attention to Liverpool ace Salah, say El Desmarque.

The Egyptian winger, 27, is under contract at Anfield until at least June 2023, so it would take a monster bid for Liverpool to sell.

And with Bayern Munich chasing Roberto Firmino, Jurgen Klopp may decide no bid would be enough to see another part of his fearsome front-three poached.

But, Manchester United legend Gary Neville reckons a move to Real Madrid is the logical next step in Salah’s career.

Neville claimed: “I said 18 months ago I thought Mo Salah would leave Liverpool.

“I think there’s a feeling that he wants to go and play at Real Madrid, he’ll go to Barcelona – he’ll take the big move.

“That’s not a criticism of Salah. I played with David Beckham, I played with Ruud van Nistelrooy, I played with Cristiano Ronaldo…

“They wanted to aspire to win the Ballon d’Or, they wanted to be at Real Madrid, they wanted to be up in lights and play at the biggest clubs in the world.

“I think he is ultimately using Liverpool potentially as a stepping stone for his career. He has aspirations to be [at a club like Madrid or Barca].

“Let’s be honest, Real Madrid and Barcelona for a lot of players are the pinnacle.”

Liverpool have previously lost Michael Owen and Steve McManaman to Real Madrid when they were at the peak of their powers.

Real were also linked with Sadio Mane last summer, but a move failed to materialise.

But should the Reds win the Premier League this season for the first time in their history, to go with last term’s Champions League win, some big names may opt for a move on having completed everything they can at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Reds boss Klopp is eyeing up a move for Timo Werner – whose release clause is just £25m, according to recent reports – to add some depth to his front-line.
