His name is Mickey, a resident of Kibbutz Nachal Oz. On October 7, Mickey and his family woke to the massive Hamas missile assault. When news broke that terrorists had infiltrated the Kibbutz, Mickey quickly placed his wife and children in their safe room. Then, armed with his gun, he took position by the front door to defend them. Terrorists attempted to storm the house, but Mickey shot them all. Minutes later, the surviving attackers returned with an RPG, blasting the front door. Twelve terrorists then forced their way inside. Mickey hid behind a cement beam and fought back fiercely. For an hour and a half, he engaged in a firefight, killing every terrorist who came near him or the safe room. At one point, they hurled a stun grenade, forcing Mickey to retreat and join his family inside. When the terrorists tried to break into the safe room, Mickey shot the first one through the doorway, sending the others fleeing. For hours, Mickey and his family remained locked inside until IDF soldiers finally arrived, securing the home and rescuing them.
