A former Secretary to the State Government in Osun, Alhaji MOshood Adeoti and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yussuf are sending jitters to the Governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola over who picks the ticket of the All Progressive Congess for the 2022 governorship election. Oyetola ends his tenure in November while the Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed the state’s election for July 16, next year. The last few days have witnessed expressions of interests by both Yussuf and Adeoti, who both tried to pick the ticket of the APC in the 2018 election. While The Osun Progressives, now popular as TOP in the state and beyond is populated by those opposed to the alleged lopsided manner of party affairs and perceived poor performance of the governor, the Ileri Oluwa is said to be the camp of the Governor. However, since TOP emerged as a group in June this year, all have not been the same within the party as aggrieved members are said to be moving in droves. “Ileri Oluwa is loosing members everyday. TOP is growing,” said a member of the executive council serving as Special Adviser under Oyetola who however pleaded not to be named. The Special Adviser said but for TOP, most members of |
