I just discovered that the app is back to its proper self, the menu for download video is showing and am able to download the videos to the vanced youtube app and can be played offline only with the vanced youtube, it is just few videos have the menu absent.

the only app I've ever used for downloading from YouTube is Tubemate sha. The ads still pop up but tho, but you can download videos in different qualities/sizes, or mp3, and watch with whichever video app you want.
