Yes, you can charge more.

Fiverr never imposes on sellers, whatever you decide to charge is totally up to you.

You can reduce the number of words you offer for $5. For instance, if you were offering 500 words for $5, you could reduce it to 250 words for $5.

You can also use your Gig extras to earn more per article. You could offer keyword research, photos and any other creative thing you can think of at extra costs to buyers.

But be careful, don't overdo it cos the competition on Fiverr is getting stiffer by the minute. You would want to make your services affordable and competitive regardless.

As much as i would like to flaunt my Nigerian flag to the moon and back, the USA flag puts food on my table FASTER.

It is unfortunate but it is what it is.

It is not just because you are a Nigerian, it is because ENGLISH is not your NATIVE language. So Native buyers(which by the way make up the majority on these micro-job websites) would make Native speakers their first choice. Of course, some of them who have more open minds or have had great experiences with non-native speakers would have no problem hiring you but they are the minority.

It's just like going to an American to write me an article in Igbo language. Yes, there might be some of them who can write Igbo well but i would have some doubts and can't help but feel like i am gambling with my job when i place such orders.

I would advice anyone in doubt to create 2 accounts, one Nigerian and one USA. The sales you get on each account would help you make up your mind.

I studied fiverr for months before creating an account and i discovered that these factors drive up your sales significantly.

1) Being a U.S native Speaker(Flaunting a US flag)
2) Being a female( Female Profile Photo, not too young and not too old. Middle age is good)
3) Having an attractive profile/gig photo
4) Having a Gig Video
5) Using the right tags
6) Using the buyer's request features
7) Having 100% positive reviews
Using the official fiverr forum to promote your gig
9) Promoting your gig on LinkedIn groups or on the Fiverr LinkedIn page
10) Having multiple accounts( if one no sell, one go sell na)

$2 is certainly not a great price but it is a good offer for people who are starting out and need reviews. i've seen people beg others for $1 jobs just for the reviews so go and do your domain flipping and don't discourage people who are trying to help others grow their freelance writing businesses here.

OK, so i saw a post by @cremeandchic about Fiverr some months back. Even though i had gone for physical seminars with some "gurus" at Ikeja, the way he explained it was too superficial and i wanted an in-depth training. I finally made up my mind to give Fiverr another try and i got in touch with cremeandchic.

We started training focusing on writing gigs and i was amazed at her level of detail. Hi Jumoke, thanks for your contribution o. I have promised not to comment on this issue again, but I think I need to explain what transpired between the two of us. The service he paid for was actually rendered. He bought two of my e-books "How to make money on freelancer" and "The Professional Freelance Researcher" in September 2014. I promised a bonus of giving each buyer their first job on freelancer within the period of the offer. After I sent the e-books to him, he promised contacting me in a few days time after he completes his profile on freelancer. I did not hear anything from him again until December 17th, 2014. He still told me that he was working on his profile. Meanwhile, the bonus offer expired in December 2014. But, because he kept the communication line open with me, I was willing to still give him the bonus, the expiry date not withstanding. The last mail he sent was on 30th December 2014 promising to contact me in January, which he never did. Honestly, I did not see any of his posts, except the one he wrote accusing me of being cruel. You can imagine that!

I apologize on his behalf. Misunderstandings are always bound to happen and we don't all have the same level of patience.

Any idle Freelancer you find is not yet successful, trust me the moment u start making it as a freelancer, u become very busy that it takes real hardwork to balance things out.

So i don't believe that ladywriter would purposely ignore you especially since u alledgedly paid her for whatever services she was supposed to render. It was most likely cos she was too busy or missed ur mails or something.

With that been said, i understand ur plight too. The Xenophobic attacks in South-Africa can drive the fear of God into a person and i see why you are so upset that you couldnt lay your hands on the resources you need to start earning online and save yourself from those senseless killers. Sometime last year i signed up on payoneer's website, filled all the necessary details including my address, the only drawback i experienced was that my temporary national id card was not accepted.

One month later i got my international passport using the same day payment option hoping that the payoneer process will be expedited, yet they sent back a message that the international passport was not a valid identification since it did not contain an address.

three months later i got my permanent voters card and sent it too but it was rejected as it did not contain the same address i used while registering for the payoneer account. The careless corpers who reigstered me did not even put my address , they just put in the the name of the ward where i did my registration.

i'm growing tired of getting their rejection mails, as the customer care agents seem to check previous message logs and tell me to comply and get a valid id with an address
