OAM4J:

hey crude oil, no intruder. this is a very very serious thread.

History is about to be made after all the North/South wahala, we are witnessing  the beginning of a new Nigeria: the union of a Katsina Prince and an Imo Princess.

Suggestion:I think both of you should upload new, clean, clear and your finest profile pictures, so we are clear of all that descriptions, before moving to a new chapter.

Continue!

Vehemently seconded!

It is not rocket science to design for manufacture in China POS running run on batteries similar to mobile phones running on battery.  This policy will force the ;50 years Old laborer' to have a bank account (if he doesn't have one already) and this way Sanusi will have succeeded where others have failed. Moreover every village have GSM. Ever heard about mobile banking? Moreover, you can give the labourer check to cash at the bank if he must touch money.

Talk is very cheap.
Politics / Re: Will You Fight For You And Your Future? Nigeria's Oil Bill Faces Major Obstacles by CrudeOil2(m): 11:09pm On Apr 29, 2011
dem_people:

I think the bill will be passed though my fear is that it will be a significantly watered-down version. If the bill is to be passed in its original form or 90% percent original form (without major changes which would significantly reduce the earnings of the government, adequate responsibility and quick remedy for environmental pollution, reflection of local content etc) then it will take some heads to roll off in the echelon of NASS leadership. People like Mark, Ekweremadu and Bankole and some senators in the likes of Kanti Bello were perceived (known) to be the main architects for the delay in passage.

Its not only in the oil sector that a PIB-type bill is needed. We need such a bill in healthcare, education, industry, finance and police (including independence of EFCC, ICPC etc).

Jonathan is also known to be the most pro-oil reforms president we've ever had and will ever have. Not difficult to see since one of the reasons being, he's from the region .

I want to know what the bill has in stock for other so-called "capped strategic reserves" as being labelled on other non-niger delta reserves such as in Anambra and Enugu. Will we see a change in a nonchalant FG towards these reserves as regards their exploitation and also, resource revenue for the aforementioned states?

All these will have a lot on who becomes the Senate presido etc.

I really don't think the bill would be passed this year. You are right to say that it would modified, but i do not think it would be passed.
The bill (if passed) won't reduce government earnings at all, instead it would increase our revenue from oil, and scale down the profits of the oil companies who are ripping us off.

These fears make me believe that Nigerians need to take their destiny in their hands, especially as the FG is on song. We need to take to the streets force the NASS to bend to the will of the people, or we burn the fvcking place down.

Majority of Nigerians don't know or care about what happens in the oil sector, so protesting over the issue would be strange. The corruption in the oil sector is disgusting. Nigeria loses billions of dollars annually due to the corruption and inefficiency in the oil sector.
The PIB is not perfect, but it would definitely correct most of the problems in the sector.

Sanusi Lamido is a big foool. Thats one thing with radicals, they don't think before they act. Soludo wanted to implement this policy during his regime, but he thought deeply and realised that the Nigerian economy was not ready for this. Radical Sanusi should ensure that we are able to achieve steady power first before he thinks about implementing a policy that requires steady electricity.
It seems like after he listed by time magazine as an influential person, he wants to garner more popularity and unworthy praise. He is a foool!
Politics / Re: Will You Fight For You And Your Future? Nigeria's Oil Bill Faces Major Obstacles by CrudeOil2(m): 8:42pm On Apr 29, 2011
I dont think the PIB would be passed this year. There are lots of issues hindering the passage. Firstly, the oil majors are there to ensure that its passage is frustrated.
PENGASSAN wants issues facing oil workers to be addressed first before the bill is passed- and this would take a long time.
Nigerian legislators are too corrupt and selfish.
Alot of elements (mostly nigerians) are against the passage of the bill because it would push them out of business. I know how hard senator Lee fought to ensure that the Local content bill was passed.

Correct. That means she can also get educated (formally and informally) while acting. She had more prospects, she could have been a prominent entertainment ambassador in and outside the country, been an influential actress and woman. But she decided to chose a humble profession in a country where she would be unknown and unrecognized. It's her life anyway.

Even if you are famous, be educated so you can have even more credibility smiley
She already has a college degree, so she is educated.

^^ Being a nurse ain't better than being a famous and loved actress. Damn! She would have been more famous than Genevive now.

With the sort of fame she had back then in Nigerian entertainment, I would'nt expect this from her. She would've been better if she was still in the Nigerian entertainment industry. But anyway, its her life.

They must be really strategising on how to cajole Mimiko to defect to their party. Claiming the oil rich Ondo would be a huge acheivement for Tinubu.

Anyway, we should give necessary commendations to GEJ for fulfilling his promises on delivering credible elections.
