Shma:This guy is a clown. |
If you are not learning tech, there is something wrong with you. |

And that is why no western country wants to sell lethal weapon to them. |
Shma:Our companies are collapsing? In which reality? Companies that are scaling up? Clown. |
rvp2018:200 million people eat rice. It's consumed everywhere, in every occasion. It's not easy to satisfy the Nigerian market for rice. Even when there was high imports, there was still local production. The market is huge. When we go to the market to buy, the sellers usually ask if we want local rice or foreign rice. But now the govt is confident in the local producers and so we have blocked the borders. Buhari is determined to ensure that we either grow all the rice we eat or we don't eat rice at all |
rvp2018:Nigeria has blocked the borders to ensure local producers of rice get a fair deal in the local market. Even till now, our borders are still locked to check smuggling. Smuggling is not a govt sanctioned activity. But then the local production it seems cannot even satisfy the local market. Rice is a staple food eaten by 200 million people. That is humongous. |
rvp2018:Well, China and India have GDPs in Trillions of dollars. They have much higher resources than Nigeria and even then they import loads of food. So relatively, it's the same kind of problem. We can do much better of course. But sorry, Kenya will never understand what it means to be a highly populated country. It's a much different reality from the fantasy dreamlands of tiny sparse countries of East Africa living a kumbaya existence and with no real potential. |
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/500267-imota-rice-mill-to-start-production-2022-sanwo-olu.html The largest rice mill in Africa. |
rvp2018:Clown. Due to recent policies, Nigeria is now the largest producer of rice in Africa. Lagos State government is set to commission the largest rice Mill in the entire africa early this year. Our population is beyond what a Kenya can imagine. The people will need food. Even our humongous production cannot satisfy such a market. |
rvp2018:You must be living in a fantasy of your own making. Silly Kenyan with a GDP less than Lagos. You think you can beat Lagos by selling tea and flowers.? Lol. |
rvp2018:I never said the world bank estimate the GDP of any country. Our GDP was estimated after a very long while by the world renowned economist, Ngozi okonjo iweala when she was our minister of finance. She is currently the DG of the world trade organisation. The WB does not estimate GDP, but they have an idea. GDP does not fly from thin air. You have to list the sectors providing the GDP and then show proof. If it was exaggerated, the international community will disagree with it. For example, Kenya cannot wake up and say they have a GDP of $10trillion. Lol The entire world would laugh. Our GDP is a conservative estimate. A lot of new and informal sectors are not even considered in it. |
Kazikazi:More and more of the common man on the streets are feeling the impact. It will not be completed overnight. Our population is three times the size of South Africa. It's the common man that gets the jobs that dangote creates. Who cares who some idiots respect in Africa? When push comes to shove, they all look to Nigeria anyway. Tony elumelu a Nigerian is the one giving them free $5000 as grants for their businesses every year. It's not a South African or an Egyptian. |
Personally, I would have preferred Tony elumelu to focus his foundation on Nigerians alone. We need to fight poverty with everything we have got. But then, he is a pan-african business man. You can't blame him. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE2Tt-TfhJI Tony elumelu foundation giving $5000 to 1000 African entrepreneurs selected all across the entire 54 African countries, including kenya every year. It's the biggest and most comprehensive entrepreneurship scheme on the African continent. The 2022 session is set to open soon. https://www.tonyelumelufoundation.org/ Tony elumelu owns the United Bank for Africa and Heirs holdings, both headquartered in Nigeria. Big brother with a big GDP. |
Shma:Don't worry, wait till it get to $1trillion. You will cry tears then. |
Does the call of God pass from father to son? Did Moses children become a prophet too? |
His wife would be very happy. |
Kazikazi:It would take time for us to match their overall development and HDI. They were developed long time ago by the Dutch. China and India are still fighting poverty. It will take time. |
I am also happy for the future of Africa. One thing Nigerian companies does is to always scale up beyond our borders. We never keep anything in Nigeria alone. Look at Andela for example. It employs software Engineers from West to East to North and South of the entire Africa. After establishing in Nigeria, Kenya was the next place they opened up shop. Progress in Nigeria will spread to the rest of Africa. That is what a big brother does. |
Listen to the founder of Andela and Flutterwave talking about the Nigerian tech outlook for the year 2022. He spoke about the "Nigerian start-up Bill" which is the most comprehensive tech law in Africa set to be passed this year by the national assembly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4s4xgWs5Wk |
By now, we should have already started approaching a Trillion dollar GDP. We need to optimize the economy. With the tech revolutions of last year, set to continue this year, we should have some serious additions to GDP. Flutterwave and Opay got Unicorn status last year. Some serious progress is going to happen this year in tech. |
Our fertilizer plant will serve the whole of Africa, with American and Brazil as export destinations. But No, inflated GDP ![]() |
GeneralDae:Yes, he has stated operation. Sorry. |
Nigeria currently produce the largest volume of cementt in the whole of Africa. Inflated GDP. ![]() |
Shma:You claim that our population fuels our GDP and at the same time you deny that there is a GDP. You are high on weed. Stick to an argument. The biggest indurialists in Africa are Nigerians. But No, our GDP is inflated. |
Kazikazi:Clown. Nigeria does not own the world Bank or IMF. If it was a lie, they would have said so long ago. Infact Many of Nigeria's production are not even formal. It's in the informal sector which cannot be estimated and added to current GDP. Nigerian GDP is even too poor for the potential it has. Wait till Nigeria gets a decent govt. |
To be fair, I like the way Kenya has been able to master agriculture and diversify its agricultural exports. It's an agricultural powerhouse and have utilized their agricultural lands far more productively than Nigeria. Nigeria has a lot to learn from Kenya in that area. |
With the dangote petrochemical and fertilizer plants set to open this year. Nigeria would be the largest manufacturing of fertilizers in Africa, exporting to Africa, America and Brazil. That is what manufacturing looks like. |
