Does this man not know that it is Nigerians that will pay this tax?

Or does he think fanta will pay it from their profits?

We can see it happening with the Nigerian singers.

They go to Ghana, spend a few days or weeks there to rest, and then come back to Nigeria to make money and provide value.

Accra has set it self up as a Dubai for holidays

Good for Ghana, but there is a trap to be avoided.

The carribeanization of Ghana.

I personally wouldn't want my country to be carribeanized.

Where people just come, have a good time for a short while and then go back to real countries where they carry out their economic activities and make money.

Tourism is good, but don't stop there.

80% of their tech scene is dominated by white and Indian born 'Kenyans' so once the brains of their tech hub is removed they will be insignificant
I have noticed that there are a lot of Indians in Kenya beyond what is obtainable in other parts of Africa .

It's probably due to the fact that only the Indian ocean seperates both countries.
Politics › Re: The IGP Is Superior To Governors — Lawyer, Ndakudu Adam by CSTRR: 10:23pm On Jan 05, 2022
A mere appointee of the president is Superior to an elected governor?

An ELECTED governor?

You are mad.

In a federal system with states autonomy, the only agency superior to the governor is the supreme Court, not even the president.

A governor can take the president to the supreme Court if he feels aggreived.

I dont think so - see that diagram. Your diaspora is doing great - bringing investment back - but you're otherwise hopeless.

Kenya remain the rising african lion
My diaspora is great??
Lol
You are clown.

Of course my disapora is great just like the disapora of China or India.

We are great countries with great disaporas.
It's not a weakness, it's a strength.

Unlike Kenya where Indians, Lebanese and other foreigners run the show using Kenyans as slaves.

By the time they get bored and pull their capital, everything will fade away.

Besides, many of the innovative tech start ups in Nigeria were created by Nigerians that live in Nigeria all their lives.

Trying to curry sympathy and display eye service.

What of 2019? or 2018? So if today a start up in Tanzania (smiley ) wins a billion dollars in funding; will we then declare TZ the undisputed tech leader. Like I said for the last few years - in tech sector - it's been a battle btw Nigeria and Kenya - with South Africa and Egypt in the mix.

Now continue with heckling.
If we go back previous years, I am sure we will see Nigerian steadily climbing to the current position it is.

And it is only going to get higher.

I have said it before that a lot of Africans really don't understand or grasp the scope of Nigeria.

Either due to the negative publicity, or whatever reason.
And it brings a lot of disrespect.

They really don't know they are dealing with a behemoth.

They will know in time.
Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by CSTRR: 12:36pm On Jan 05, 2022
In 2021, Nigeria got $1.41b while Kenya got a paltry $375m( which is a lot for the level of Kenya).

We need to stop debating now.

It's an insult comparing Kenya to Nigeria.

Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt remain emphatically Africa’s “big four” from a funding perspective, accounting for 77 per cent of funded startups and 89.2 per cent of total investment. Nigeria (85), Egypt (82) and South Africa (81) lead the way from a ventures perspective, but when it comes to total combined raised capital it is Kenya that is Africa’s leader, with startups from the East African country raising over US$190 million in funding in 2020.
Maybe in 2020.

Definitely not in 2021.

Nigeria is the undisputed tech leader both in funding and number of start ups.

Politics › Re: President Buhari: State Police Is Not An Option by CSTRR: 10:57am On Jan 05, 2022
If you like go and elect governors like uzodinma or El rufai to take charge of your state police.

That is your cup of tea.

Let states with governors like Sanwo olu or seyi makinde use their own state police to provide adequate security for their people.

Well, whether he likes Nigeria or not, state police isn't good for us, or indeed for the African continent.

Unless you want to pay the income taxes needed to fund them, and you can also eliminate tribalism and the autocracy in the state governorship level.
How is state police not good for us?

If you can't elect decent governors, that is your cross to bear.

State policing is the way forward.

The money that FG earmarks to fund the police every year should be transferred to the states as well as their usual security votes.

Buhari has done whatever he can as a n president of northern origin.

The joke would be on us if the next southern president does not behave as a Southerner.

Everything buhari has refused to do can be done when he leaves office.

Well, I meant I don't agree with him most of the time, but on state police, he is making a lot of sense....

Yesh, I consider all past and present Nigerian leaders as being awful, but when they say or do the right thing, I agree with them
This is the same buhari that refused to sign the electoral bill.

He is not saying this because he likes Nigeria.

He is against anything that will threaten the undue advantage his region holds.

Without such advantages, a clown like him would never have emerged as president.

Kenya is a step ahead of you. We're already doing tech city - 90% of horizontal infrastructure, done.

Konza (Konza Technopolis ) is a key flagship project of Kenya’s Vision 2030 economic development portfolio. Konza will be a world-class city, powered by a thriving information, communications and technology (ICT) sector, superior reliable infrastructure and business friendly governance systems..
Unfortunately for you, whatever you think you are building is irrelevant to the rest of us.

The real tech city will happen in Nigeria.

The Andela founder plans to create a tech city in Lagos and another Nigerian city, starting this year.

They are still sourcing for funding though they have already bought the lands.

A place to congregate the best African tech talents located in Nigeria to build and create.

Don't be ignorant. Information is all over the internet.

Over the past few years South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria have become hubs of start-up creation. In 2019, Nigeria raked in $663.24 million worth of start-up investments, followed by Kenya and South Africa. But when it comes to the trend in shutdowns, Nigeria experienced more shutdowns at 61.05 percent as compared to the other two .
What is the percentage of tech inflows coming to Nigeria compared to Kenya or South Africa?

Nigeria attracts more tech investment, of course it would experience more losses.

Most business ideas fail. It's the same in tech.

It doesn't change the fact that Nigeria is the tech hub of the continent and will remain so for the forseeable Future.

Even this year, Nigeria is going to attract more tech investments than both South Africa and Kenya.
