Need to understand this upfront medicals properly. Does this mean I can (at my own risk) go ahead to do medicals at Asaju (or wherever) without it being solicited, and when it's needed Asaju just uploads my result to CIC?

I'm asking because I'm considering it as an option. My workplace is about 6-7 hours away from Lagos (and Abuja too)... and getting time off work when I'm on call is very difficult. I'll be free next week and I plan to be in Lagos, but I haven't been called for medicals yet. Wanna know if it's ok to go ahead and schedule an appointment for medicals anyway.

You can only do your medicals before you apply or after you've been notified to do so, not in between. So, if you have already applied, you have to wait till you are instructed to do medicals. If you have not applied already, then can go ahead and do it.

I have goodnews to encourage those that are discouraged. A friend of mine here was refused twice this year. So he deferred his admission for winter, made the necessary adjustments, did upfront medicals and reapplied in September. He was asked to submit his passport today for TRV. I have been soooo haaaappppy.....Congratulations to those delayed!!! You too will rejoice!!!

Mehn, congrats to your friend. I believe mine will turn out this way. I was also refused twice this year, deferred to Winter, did upfront medicals, necessary adjustments and reapplied October.....waiting on God for that good news in Dec grin

... Again, like I said... lets wait to see if they will accept your Sponsor's letter stating he is willing to pay for accommodation....

One thing u may think about is... if we apply for visa and refused based on Insufficient funds... What do we do? We look for a co sponsor or submit extra financial docs....

I understand you Sir. Thanks plenty.

... Nope... The acceptance letter comes from the main campus cos thats where all the main administrative works happen.... unfortunately, the fault is yours... Always dot your i's and cross your T's

Well, I get your point sha. I didn't pay attention to details. But then again, is the solution to book and pay for accommodation near the main campus that I will be using maybe once or twice in a week Then what if I then book a place close to the main campus and then in this present application, the VO then notices that my own campus is that of Calgary, won't it still cause same issue??
Sorry to ask plenty questions ooh, buh I really need to be sure of the next step to take

... There u go... they will always go by that address....guess the VO is just been picky ...

I see. The problem sef is from the school. They should have just used my campus address in the acceptance letter.

Siga:
...@ Cuf... which campus address dey ur acceptance letter?

The address in my acceptance letter is that of the main Campus in Alberta Beach. But they also made a note in my offer letter that my campus of admission is Calgary Campus, tho they did not include the address.

It's really dicey... Just be hopeful cuz your docs are already in and your info are with them. This issue of different campus get as he be. You can't pay for two accommodation while trying to cover lapses. Or you dey capable? wink Your sponsors response to accommodation would help God willing.

Ahh, you understand my point well...it's really confusing. Capable ke??lol..I wish my dear, I wish

... Trust me... those guys are one way traffic... once they have stated u are 2hrs away... they wont change ... and they will only go by that statement... best thing to do since u have the reason is to close the gap... few people book hotel and state they will stay at the hotel while they look for a house since most landlords wants to see them before approving a room ...

Thanks Sir
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Cufs(f): 11:27am On Oct 20, 2014
Siga:
...Cufs... Since you see the reasons were clearly based on accommodation.... I would think u would have made an arrangement to either book at least a 2 weeks hotel stay near your school or secure accommodation to close that gap...

I already reapplied before I got this result Sir. So I'm thinking you mean that I should go ahead a book an accommodation and send the evidence to the embassy ?
What is even confusing me is that my campus to her house is just 15min. The 2hr journey is that of the main campus were I will be attending lectures once in a while.

Hello ppl. It's me again ooh, I have gist plus I need advice as usual..lol... Sorry, my story is too long sha, buh dunno how else o summarize it.

If you guys remember I said earlier that I was refused twice this year, and I just applied the 3rd time last week.

So, here is the gist. About 2 weeks after my 2nd delay, my elder sister who is a canadian citizen just realized that she had the authority to request for my previous study permit application files from Canada in other to know the exact reason why I was delayed.

It took about 30 working days for the result to come out, and I kinda ran out of patience to wait for the result cos time wasn't on my side considering the fact that I'm applying for winter session.
Anyways, the result just came out over the weekend, it's about 21 pages, but the 20th page carries the summary (see attachment)

The reason for the delay was that in my previous applications, I included a letter from my sister saying that I will be staying with her through out my 2years of study. Now from the report, it was stated that the distance from my sisters place to the school is 2hrs. I.e as a student I will be doing 4hrs journey every day, which of cos doesn't look genuine.

Now, my latest application last week, I did not include a letter from my sister again. My sponsor also stated in his affidevit that he will provide funds for my accommodation.

My question is this, since I did not include a letter from her this time, do you think I won't have this same issue? Or do I need to maybe book an accommodation in my school and send the embassy a receipt or smth?? I need advice please.

Actually, my Campus is in Calgary(about 15min from my sister's place) , but I just noticed after this result that my offer letter also stated that not all my majors and minors are available in my campus, therefore I will also attend lectures in the main Campus at times(2.5hrs)
