I very much doubt that you watched the Cold War, otherwise you would have known that Glosnost and Perestroika were in full force by 1989 and that there was no arms race between the Soviet Union and the United States after that.

Furthermore, you would have known that there was a UN arms embargo on Iraq from August 1990 and that the Soviet Union did not supply any arms to Iraq after that.

Saddam did not run to Gorby. The Soviet Union had given old Scud missiles to Arab countries in the 1960s when America supported the Israelis and the Soviet Union supported the Arabs.

Irq had old Scud B missiles which were made in the 1960s. I watched the Iran-Iraq War, Iraq was already firing scud missiles at Iran way back in the 1980s. The Iranians had to get their own scuds from the Libyans.

The Iraqis modified Scud B missiles and that's what they fired at Israel in 1991. That's why the UD deployed Patriot Missile batteries to Israel.

Now go and find out how many variants of scud missiles the Soviets developed after the old Scud B from the 1960s.

Oga no need for the long epistle you wrote here. I watched the gulf war too. Russia was in a Cold War and a bitter arms race with the US and a proxy was was a way they could flex their muscles. So there was no way they could supply moribund weapons to Iraq when they were in such an arms race with the US. It’s common sense
