Maximum charge time to get a full 100% charge is 3hours.

Money well spent 4 me.

It's 1GB but I hear you can add to it. Don't know how true that is
You can only add to it if your phone is rooted and rooting recent Android versions are difficult. Long story short, you are stuck with the 1gb ram. Enjoy

Kennyflyair:
Men do I have a story for you guys.
I bought an itel a56 very recently due to the fact say money low. To be fair, the phone is not bad for a light user and the 4000mah battery even lasts well. But when the thing don low, na that time I know say I don use my money buy problem. Na 6hours and above the phone dey take Charge before e full. I first think say na the phone get problem until I saw a few users complain on the itel page on facebook.
This thread has fully confirmed what I suspected.

They really need to improve on this. Na Nigeria wey gather dey o. Money scarce, even light sef scarce. Most people need phone that you'll plug for 1hour and see at least 50%

Me wey be say the phone wey I dey use before the itel get fast charging, that 6 hours charging come be like 4 years for my eyes. I sharply put am for nairaland and jiji. Bot the phone for 26k, after a month I put it up for sale. Come see pricing! Got an offer of 20k from one nairalander, instead make I sell I still dey do shakara. Last last na 17k I sell almost new itel a56. Lost 9k just for buying a worthless phone.

When I entered jiji to Post my ad, I saw many people wanting to sell their a56. The prices the put there were still close to new price. Because I wanted to sell desperately, I put it up for 19k then sold for 17k after begging the girl to even add 1k on top.

In fact, if you're in desperate need of Cheap phones, enter jiji and search for itel a56, you'll see many. Ignore their price and bargain with your own price. There is a high chance that the seller would agree cos most of them want to get it off their hands. Na mostly cos of that horribly slow charging most people dey sell.

I swear, this is probably my longest Post on nairaland but na because the thing dey pain me na y I dey type long story like this.

If you noticed, I never complained about the phone itself. I knew the specs of the devce I bought. 1gb ram, 16gb rom. I know how to work well with low ram phone. I still used a 512mb ram phone till early 2020.

If only itel can improve on their charging speeds, I think their brand would still be ok for people on low budgets.

I really doubt their charging is up to 5Watts sef. Maybe na 2 watt charging them dey use.

Op thank you for this thread, it confirmed my suspicion. That would be the first and last itel device I would buy in my life. I Don port go xiaomi. No be say then sef dey perfect but at least complaint dey minimal.

Namaste
You did the right thing by dropping it. Never settle for less. One should have value for his/her money.
PhonesRe: Itel Is A Good Phone,,✌️✌️ by CuteMike01(m): 4:11am On Oct 08, 2020
Fact1:
Itel phone is good on it own,,,,yes I'm using itel p15 presently just because i don't know how to maintain phones i got it last week and the back case don crack self,,,it took just 5hours from 0 to 100%,,,be honest shey the phone didn't try niihuh?, ,,,and there's light everyday in my area so it doesn't reach 50% before recharging it,,,but you guys on nairaland enjoys bashing and saying bad things about phone,,me using itel doesn't mean I'm tech illiterate,,i will even tell you more about tech,,,,, funnily people go dey think say i poor nii,, see d way one girl dey look at me yesterday night,,she was like how can i be using itelp15,grin,,grin, you think say itel is for the poor and tech illiterate lolgrin,,

And it cost me nothing to buy iPhone or Samsung,,,,,,but the main reason I'm using it is dat I can't use a phone for six months with out crashing it screen,, imagine repairing Samsung screen,,,grin nah almost 50%of d original price,,,, everybody have reason for using a particular phone and stop talking as if you can produce ordinary nokia 3310 battery,, because people making those phone are human being like you,,,,,,if i buy a higher phone i will always have transition phone with me (expecially itel),, because I love it,,,,,

[s]See you people comparing phones you're no dat wise ,,,,, because it just simple example of life we're living in,,let imagine comparing you with others in aspect of money ,,,facial appearance,,etc,,,you know say you will be no where to be found with over 7billon people worldwide,,,
[/s]
This life their will always be the first and last ,,even if the spec for all phones are equal there will still be a phone that will be rating number one,,,i know itel is not the best but they tried na and funnily me and you know say transition still sell at mad rate and nothing can stop dat very soon,,,,you said transition don't see update,,my former phone note 5stylus got update from Android 8.1 to 10 so what's your pointhuh? Without lagging,,,and people are crying up and down for just one update from one phone here,,, even iPhone self get problem but you guys won't go there just because of hypocrisy in you,,,, even the itel I'm using self showed update and I'm about to update it,,,,,,,,,

I'm not a marketer check my previous posts ,,,,,the only issue with itel is charging slowly their phone always last,,last month my itel 1556 was given to my brother i just did the normal screen repairing since 2016 i got it,,, while most of this higher phone can't last more dan 2 years without repairing it's hardware,,,,,,,,itel phones last longer ,,,,,

If someone get to nairaland for the first time and have no knowledge about phone and he or she landed in phone section he or she will never buy transition phones just because of your toxicity as if your current phone is perfect,,,,,,,,,,

Only those that research on phones knows umidigi,,,, redmi ,,,oppo,,Lg ,,sony ,,volvo,,,,,you and i know say d only phones most of the people know are iPhones,, Samsung,,,tecno ,,itel and infinix in Nigeria,,,,

[s]You said transition are calculator,,,,why can't you gather your family members and let us see if you will be able to produce calculator botton or battery,,,the issue is most of you guys have placed your life problem on phones that's why you always do deadly comparism,,,,do you think celebrity buys iPhone for using it for what it meant for? ,,,,, millions of olamide's fans will buy that itel ,but to you guys you will say they are fools or tech illetrate or you wanna tell me say dem no no the spec,, but we call it love,,,,,,,
[/s]
Last example is the music industry we know those that we think they should be leading but they are below both financially and internationally ,,,, which means no matter how you bash transition phones me and those dat will by it will still buy it ,just for the love we have for it,,,

I will get higher quality phone as soon as I'm perfect in maintaining phone but dat won't stop me from having transition phones expecially itel because i love it,,,,,,,

Every phones get problem,,,,

The summary of this epistles ,,

1,,, stop toxic comparison,,,,,we know transition are not the best,,,,

2,,,no one can overtake the power of the mass,,,,,,

Love and light,,,,,,
I know we can't produce phones but we have every right to criticise them because we pay for their goods. Gone are the days when transsion helped the poor due to their low prices. Today, they sell subpar phones at the prices of better phones. As a good citizen, we shouldn't be among the publication of derivative phones hence the laceration. Oga, stop defending mediocrity.

Is it just me or this is everyone's case? We all use iTel P33 and P33 + in my family. Nobody has one day complained of slow charging. Infact my mum's phone chargers way faster than ours. I guess iTel selects charger. That's my observation

As much as I once was a dedicated user of itel phones, I must say the area itel tends to hide from her patronisers and that is the issue of slow charging. Itel phones take longer to charge than regular devices. Speaking as a first-hand witness, charging an itel phone from 0-100 mostly takes about 6-9 hours to full. From the P series to the S series and some other models I've encountered and used, I observed that itel hasn't still worked on their slow charging issues. To add to detail, I happen to be charging my phone at a football viewing center. There was this particular guy who plugged his itel p32 at 6% around 10:00am. He left it charging and took off to game with some dudes. He was using an amazon charger newly bought. Those who are familiar with this charger would know that it is quick in charging phones of huge battery sizes. Well, about 2:00pm the anger in the guy's face at seeing the phone still in 9% was epic. After some ranting, he swapped chargers with a lady and went back gaming. He checked the phone around 2:45pm and was shocked to see it at 11%. He just took heart and went back gaming. He came again at 5:00pm to check and was utterly disappointed to still meet it at 11%. Dude got angry and violently unplugged the phone and went home. That's what most itel users are facing today but they won't tell in order not to feel inferior.

P. S. - @Itel mobile, I'm not trying to badmouth your brand just saying the obvious for improvement. I'm sure many peeps would approve of this angry grin

Please don't bring iPhone into your lame discussions.

[s]Techno is a good phone far better than oppo[/s], Nigerians are wise, you can't expect them to buy a phone without replacement parts. Allow people to buy whatever they like it's their money and not yours.

Some of us use iPhone because it's the best brand in the world. As old as iPhone-6 it still has a good resale value in the market, how many android phones that was made with iPhone 6 Same year still has same market value? Please list them.

iPhone is a phone with distinctive class and with a good resale value even after many years.
I wanted to ignore that shit but it was just too much to ignore. So tecno is better than oppo abi? Bros, e better you just remain shut if you don't know what to say

PhonesHow Transsion Holdings Has Eaten Deep Into The African Society. by CuteMike01(op): 10:54am On Sep 26, 2020
Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of tecno or infinix nor a marketer of any brand. This is just a mere observation, nothing more, nothing less. Thanks for understanding.

Well, It isn't really news that transsion holdings has been antagonised by the likes of xiaomi and oppo as well as some other top brands such as Samsung and Huawei but needless to say in spite of these movements from these brands, transsion still seem to be gaining ground in the African society. I'm saying this as a first hand witness. I must say it's shocking and kinda sad as many Africans specifically Nigerians are still tech-ignorant. These case studies would throw more light on this.
Case 1: I happen to be at a place with some guys. Nepa didn't give us light for some days so we had to charge our phones at a shop. I met a guy who was using a redmi note 5 which he just got from a phone store in Benin. I asked him how much he got it. He told me it was 38,000 naira (used). I operated it for some time and noticed it was quite a good device for that price. It had a decent camera and a fast processor not to mention the powerful battery it came with. Those who have encountered this phone can attest to this. Long story short, I learnt that the guy wanted to swap the phone for a tecno spark 5. I actually felt that was foolhardy and tried to reason with him. There was nothing I didn't say pertaining to the pros of the note 5 over the spark 5, guy didn't listen. He said that he doesn't want to own a phone that has no parts and that the spark 5 had a bigger battery. Funny enough, the guys with us were even taking his side. I just decided to let them be since they wouldn't take my advice. In a sane country, the tecno wouldn't even be regarded as a phone. Did I mention that he even installed an xos launcher on the note 5? Well, I just did.

Case 2: I was at a parlour with two ladies. One was using a Nokia 6 while the other was using an itelp33 plus. The one with the Nokia 6 said she wished she was using the p33 plus. As you expect, I was shocked and asked her if she meant it. She told me her battery doesn't last like the p33 plus. Again, I preached my anti-tech ignorant messages but she maintained her wish to get the p33 plus.

Case 3: I was at a barbing saloon with some people. As it happened, I took my Oppo R7 along with me. Suddenly a friend of mine walked in and hailed me. After we shook hands he noticed my phone and took it from my hand. "Guy, you don buy new phone abi. After all this time." He said. Subsequently, He turned the back and saw the name "Oppo" engraved on it. The next thing I heard was "You done start to dey buy phone wey no get name again abi?" As expected, I tried to explain the pros of the phone but the guy just didn't want to listen. He actually recommended tecno and infinix over it. I just let the issue go.

So there it is, we still have many gullible Nigerians out there. Sad as it is.
